Go forth and conquer sale

Well it seems as though Anthropologie decided to put almost all of its sweater section on sale this morning — not that I’m complaining! I’ve built a list below of items that were still visible on the website as of this morning. If you have an item on your wishlist or in your cart that is not on the list, won’t you please leave a comment so everyone knows? Second cuts should be coming tomorrow — if you head to the store please report back! There’s also a bunch of new arrivals on-site which I expect Kim will break down later (I’ll give my take at the end of the week in a roundup). As always, happy hunting!

I've been on a bit of a shopping binge lately at Anthro, so I had to ratchet it back a bit. I did get the Spring Medley cardigan, which I have been waiting for sale for forever. I also got the Noisette Top, the Celebratory Blouse, and even the Vanilla Bean Blouse. Yikes! I figured since I have to pay for shipping I might as well make the most of my buck.I've got two Anthro orders coming tomorrow, too. I must be stopped. Eeek.

  2. January 19, 2010 / 12:53 pm

strange the winged victory top is on sale for $40 on the site when it's been off their website and sold out for weeks/months. When you click on the link it just redirects you back to the homepage like it's been doing since it sold out.

  3. January 19, 2010 / 1:20 pm

The open wing heels are now on sale for 169.95. Yippee!

  4. January 19, 2010 / 1:25 pm

Tempting Trellis Cardigan…still not on sale.

Jacquelyn I'm in similar shape. Two Anthro orders on the way, another about to be placed.Lauren – thanks for the tip on the Winged Victory top. The NYC Anthros restocked that top about a month ago but I'm not sure what the current availability is.Sarah – awesome! Those shoes are very cool-looking.Anon – oh no. What a pain, I hate it when I click on an item and my size is gone. But sold out is even worse!

  7. January 19, 2010 / 2:03 pm

  10. January 19, 2010 / 2:23 pm

I shouldn't be allowed to visit their website anymore. I just ordered a cardigan (I have sooo many already!) and 2 dresses. I just bought the Scalloped Clouds and Scalloped Dots skirts too! Geez, my husband is going to kill me..I have a feeling that both those skirts will be too short. I'm 5'9" so I may be returning those.

  11. January 19, 2010 / 2:30 pm

  13. January 19, 2010 / 2:31 pm

fantastic roundup, roxy!i couldn't sleep and placed an (enormous, yikes!) order around 4am est–i can't believe how quickly the stock moved! at that point, the tea room cardi was available in all sizes and the smoke stacked heel was still available in a handful of sizes as well…i'm actually kicking myself now for taking a size 10 out of my bag (tho' in reality, i know i won't be getting much use of them–too high to chase my toddler!)still good stuff to be had though and my credit card is in danger! go forth and conquer, indeed!

  14. January 19, 2010 / 2:45 pm

roxy – really?! i am calling CS right now to see if ANY stores have it in my size (makes me so mad – i HAD the right size then returned it one size up and by the time i realized i needed the original size they were all gone – ugh).

omg my credit card is hurting! so here's the damage 4 dresses (convergent sweater dress, Rosettes and Ruffles, verite and bustling aves), iced cap blouse, chie miharie's smoked stacked heels, ganache pumps and threw in another pair of berry bush tights!! i'm planning on returning some, but omg

  16. January 19, 2010 / 3:09 pm

Oh no! I've been waiting for the Tea Room Cardigan to go on sale and I missed it.If anyone bought it in a large and wants to sell it, pleeeease let me know.619lover at gmail dawt comMuch appreciated!!

ali & Blondmoma – Anytime. 🙂 Also ali thanks for the info on the Winged Victory Top. Jessica – YAY! CoteKing – haha, I feel the same way sometimes.stefanie – wow, sounds like you seriously scored! 4 AM though, yikes. I'll admit I was so excited last night I had trouble falling asleep. Ha.Lauren – good luck! I hope CS can find it for you.Anon @ 9:49 – GREAT haul. 🙂 I will do the same thing, order everything only I never end up returning. ;)I ended up getting the Tibur Cardigan, the Aegis Tank, the Finishing Touches Top, the Gulliver's Blouse and the Old & New Necklace. Whew. Many thanks to my guy for the CC assist.

  18. January 19, 2010 / 4:13 pm

can i make a 'you-know-you're-an-anthro-addict-when…' admittance?! my 2 yr old has a pretty bad cold and was having trouble sleeping so at 3am, i was up with her, sitting in our living room watching tv (thank goodness for 24 hr nick jr!), around that time i started snooping around the anthro site on my iphone and noticed the markdowns were made…i tried getting my order together but the iphone was just moving too slowly and having connection problems, so i told my daughter she needed sleep to feel better, turned off the tv and put her to bed! oy–evil mommy! (in my sorta defense, she was pretty tired by then and didn't protest much!)ran up to the computer and clicked away! my final crazy haul: open wing heels, struthio platforms, straight story boots, tea room cardi, ice capped blouse, needlepoint corset, honey butter skirt, and plaid petal skirt (this was on my saved list and surprisingly popped back in my size this AM!). if that wasn't bad enough, i also tracked down the verite, bustling ave and thru the snow cardi and did a charge send. oh my–this could be grounds for divorce! good thing packages generally arrive before my husband returns home from work!

  19. January 19, 2010 / 4:14 pm

Thanks for the sale info, Roxy! I think I might sit this one out. I'm a little sad that I paid full price for the Sterling Dress (which I never wore) but I'm hoping that I can still get a price adjustment for my Web & Loom Cardigan 🙂

I am beyond pleased to have nabbed just one thing: The long-awaited Simply Lovely Sweaterdress…and no ride-alongs. I have resolved this year to abstain from impulse buys and to only purchase items on my Anthro wish list (preferably things I have tried on so as to avoid wasted shipping fees). We'll see how long this lasts…

  21. January 19, 2010 / 4:24 pm

What a bummer … such great cuts and I missed all of the ones I like in my size! 🙁

  22. January 19, 2010 / 4:29 pm

Thanks for the round up. I woke up about 1:15 from the storm here and decided to check the sale. I was going to wait till morning to put my order in but could not sleep until I ordered…is that called an addiction? Also if anyone needs the snowscape tank the Utah store had a ton yesterday. I know they had a 4 and a 6.

  23. January 19, 2010 / 4:29 pm

One question I had is – a lot of times in sale, I notice things I have never seen on the website at all. And I click through pretty faithfully! Are there things at Anthro that they just hide away until suddenly "Ta da!" on sale?

  24. Betsy
    January 19, 2010 / 4:30 pm

YES! Price Adjustment on the Petal Shower Top, and the Dotted Chiffon top will soon be mine!

  25. January 19, 2010 / 4:30 pm

I knew I should not have gone to sleep early! I wanted those Stacked Smoke Heels… oh well.

    January 19, 2010 / 4:40 pm

Tien — I was up early this morning and saw the Smoked Stacked Heels in my size. I hesitated and then when I went back, they were gone! I guess it wasn't meant to be.BTW – I took your recommendation for hand washing sweater and sweater is almost like new. Thanks again. I'm going to hand wash all my sweaters from now on.

  27. January 19, 2010 / 4:45 pm

finally got the ice capped blouse, tibor cardigan, noisette tshirt and shirt whose name now forgotten!

Hi Tien,Do you mind if I ask how you hand wash your sweaters? I handwashed mine but for some reasons, the fuzzy fibers sticky out. I have to iron them. How did you handwash your sweaters? Thanks.

  29. January 19, 2010 / 5:14 pm

I spot treat all stains for sweater right away. Then I gently wash them in cold water and baby detergent–basically, use mild detergent. Sometimes I let it soak for about 20 minutes. If the sweater is delicate, DO NOT WRING them. Gently squeeze excess moisture out. Lay flat on a towel. Put the sweater back into shape and let dry. I hand wash all my sweaters. If you're having problems with fibers sticking out, make sure you didn't use hot water, harsh detergent, or that you rubbed the sweater or wrung it too much. Easy does it!

If this helps anyone – there were 3 or 4 winged victory tops at the Bridgeport Oregon Anthro on Sunday evening. I wasn't shopping for that top, so didn't notice the sizes, but thought it was odd that they were in store again since they had been sold out for so long.

  31. January 19, 2010 / 5:18 pm

CoteKing-I tried on the scalloped clouds skirt and didn't find it too short- I'm also 5'9. My only problem would be to size up- my regular size 6 sat verrrry high up on my waist.I'm on the west coast & the stores open in an hour… I'll be waiting!

  32. January 19, 2010 / 5:19 pm

Thanks so much for these sale posts! The petal shower top is on it's way to me, hope it fits!

  33. January 19, 2010 / 5:28 pm

Yay! I just got a price adjustment for my Web & Loom! All of a sudden I'm very glad that my online order was canceled twice before I successfully ordered my sweater from the 5th Ave Store. I would have missed the 14 day price adjustment period otherwise.

  34. January 19, 2010 / 5:30 pm

Has anyone seen the Tea Room Cardigan in store?

  35. January 19, 2010 / 5:36 pm

Linda–The Tea Room Cardigan just made its way into the San Francisco Store. I was there yesterday and there seemed to be full stock. It just popped in a week ago!415-434-2210

  36. January 19, 2010 / 5:43 pm

Tien,I just called and they said they have never carried it in their store. Maybe I'll try calling later.Thank you so much for the info.

  37. January 19, 2010 / 5:44 pm

I returned my Scalloped Clouds Skirt because I felt it was too short (I'm 5'3"). Not when you're standing up, but when you sit. The way it's cut, it rides all the way up the thighs. But I'm also only comfortable with hemline at the knee or just an inch or two above the knee.

I just did a charge-send from the Soho store for the Winding Ruffle Boots, which are now on sale, but they did charge me for ground shipping. Is that standard for sale items?

  39. January 19, 2010 / 5:45 pm

    Cheshire Sweatercoat $80

  40. January 19, 2010 / 5:48 pm

Linda–I saw it first downstairs toward the back by the bedding. Yesterday, I saw it upstairs, I think, to the right of the doors as you walk in.I noticed this sweater specifically because my sister had she liked it, and I hadn't even noticed it until she mentioned it. I remember walking up to the sweater and rubbing the fabric in between my fingers. Also, the San Francisco store sometimes really annoy me (as much as I love them). I called about the Havana Sweater Coat and the SA told me they never carried and she never saw it. Two days later, I went in and I saw several sized in the sales rack. Basically, I'd try again and hope you get a nicer SA.

  41. January 19, 2010 / 5:52 pm

I was so excited to see the ice-capped blouse on sale! i've been looking at that blouse for months now…i snagged a size 2 before they were all sold out…also ordered the Simply Lovely Sweaterdress and the Silver Tatting earrings even though i should have stopped at the blouse(both thanks to Tien's pics/reviews on her wonderful blog!) I can't decide if i should thank you Roxy for posting all the sales info, or hold you responsible for my insane CC bill….lol!

  42. January 19, 2010 / 5:52 pm

Ella – When I have done charge-send in the past, the receipt has said something like "shipping charge ground (<100 miles) – $0". So it might be that you only get free shipping if you order from a store that is within 100 miles of your shipping address. Can anyone else confirm this?

  43. January 19, 2010 / 5:56 pm

Linda– you know, I think I may have confused the sweater for the Any Other Rose Sweater. Now I don't remember! I've been sick, and I can't trust my memory. Sorry. What size are you looking for? I'll keep my eyes out for it next time I'm in.

  44. Ella
    January 19, 2010 / 5:59 pm

Thanks, Lola, although I am shipping from NYC to Boston, so def. within 100 miles. Could it be because they're boots?

  45. January 19, 2010 / 6:09 pm

Ella – I've only ever done charge-send on light items (like sweaters and tees) so it might be that the boots are too heavy for free shipping. Oddly enough, I've managed to get the "< 100 miles = $0 shipping" deal when charge-sending items from NYC, which I'm pretty sure is more than 100 miles from where I live (along the border between New Hampshire and Vermont).

  46. January 19, 2010 / 6:11 pm

stefanie — I am ROFLing at your story, only because minus the kid part I think I do pretty much the same. To everyone that missed out on the Smoke Stack Heels, know that I am suffering with you because I tried to order them for my birthday but my size was long gone. Le sigh. :(Lola – Yay! Now in a weird way I'm happy your orders got cancelled too…weird.Anon @ 11:23 – good for you staying strong. I applaud it.Tien just wanted to say thanks for answering all the questions! 🙂 Much appreciated that you're sharing your expertise.Melanie – Argh, maybe try calling CS? Bummer.ellie22 — thank you, I will add it to the post shortly. :)Sharon – glad the post was helpful!ali – OK, I am LOL'ing that you forgot the name of one of the shirts you ordered. Hee. :DElla – that's really odd, I am not sure why they charged you shipping. Maybe an employee can shed light on the policy, I'm not 100% up-to-date on the verbiage. As I understood they only charge shipping if the item is available both online and in a store locally.

  47. January 19, 2010 / 6:13 pm

ali – do you remember which sizes they might have had? i called CS but they said that there were no 0s left when they did a store search but then again that info is a couple of days old by now…. but I'm not holding my breath though on finding one in my size. if anyone sees it in a 0, let me know – pleaseee!

  48. January 19, 2010 / 6:17 pm

Linda– SF store has something I want on sale, so I'm heading down there after work today, so I will check for the Tea Room Cardigan in an L. I'm pretty sure I saw it there. If I see it, I will put it on hold for you, and notify you.I hope I find it for you!

  49. January 19, 2010 / 6:31 pm

Lauren,I've been searching for a size 0 winged victory top, too, and I've had no luck in tracking one down. The smallest size I was able to find was a 4 (NYC store). CT has the top in 8 and 10. The Oregon store only had 2 left in stock–a size 8 and a size 14 :(Perhaps I should interept this as a sign that I've already spent my quota this month….

Just came from my Austin Anthro store (512) 236-9301 and they had lots of the 'over $200' yellow with blue antique looking sweater with lots of beading on it (the name escapes me now and it is no longer available on line) and also a tick-tock cardigan in L (I know a lot of you ladies have been looking for these). Also lots of converging roads dresses in M, L and XL and the Shetland Sweater dress was reduced to $40. Hopes this info will help some of you looking for these items.

  51. January 19, 2010 / 7:01 pm

Well, I got the simply lovely sweatdress 🙂 but I'm pretty sure I'll need the XL (which has been sold out online forever)Called customer service to look for 4 items (including the XL simply lovely) and was 0 for 4. If anyone sees the Winding Ruffles Boots in a 10 please let me know! CS said there were none but I'm still crossing my fingers.lindseyewells at gmail

  52. January 19, 2010 / 7:20 pm

Nothing for me at this sale, Roxy, except possibly the twinkle headband in gold, if I decide I need it. I have the silver and adore it, and I always told myself that if it went on sale I'd get the gold. Gotta save my money for the lovely new spring/summer dresses! *coughAroundtheWorldandAstersEverywhere*I was briefly tempted by the honey butter skirt, but I told myself, let's face it, Katie — you do not know how to take care of suede and are not going to learn how. Also the cheshire sweatercoat, but I just don't love it enough to justify. Maybe if the coat gets another reduction (ha, yeah right, but I can dream), I'll revisit it. As of now I wait (im)patiently for my backordered plaza cardigan to arrive and remind myself that I am DONE buying clothes this month!

Just got back from the Austin Anthro, and man, my credit card has been conquered. I spent more than I ever have today–a new record–but I got many basic tops, as well as the Lacemaker Skirt. I had tried it on before in a size 2, and felt "eh" about it, but today when I wore the size 0, I felt "whoo!"I noticed some price differences in the b&m store vs. the website: for instance the Swirling Villages Dress, surplice-style, was marked down to $49.95 (online $99.95). I believe the Garnet Glow dress was also marked down to $49.95.For those looking for the snowscape tank, the Austin Anthro had many in the smaller sizes 0,2,4,6. There were also many Wind-rippled tees (3/4) sleeve in s & m, in both turquoise & black. I saw an Elodie cardigan, size L, I think. Aaaand there was a single Tick Tock Cardigan in L for $19.95. $19.95! It wasn't even my size, but at that price I had to try it on. Didn't quite fit, but super cute. Finally, there were many navy Skirted Peacoats, marked down to $49.95, I think. Can't remember the sizes–sorry!Their number is (512) 236-9301 . Go ye forth & shop!

  54. January 19, 2010 / 7:34 pm

    Thanks, Tien. You're the best.

  55. January 19, 2010 / 7:37 pm

Ella, thanks for the tip on the Winding Ruffle boots at Soho. I called CS this morning to track them down and they told me they were no longer in stores. I just called Soho after reading your post and what do you know…they have them and even in my size! Also, they waived my shipping because the item wasn't available online in my size. You might want to call back on that?

    January 19, 2010 / 7:43 pm

Also forgot to mention at the Austin Anthro, that I saw the Unexpected Treasures Cardi, one each in M & L. Several Daisy Quarters skirts (don't know sizes), and a Peasant-Tied Cardigan in a M.Finally, I observed one of the SAs pulling several items from the sale racks to send back to HQ. One of the tops I saw marked down was the black silk Foliage Fireworks top, marked down to $19.95. So there may be second markdowns online next week! (At which point I may need to lock my computer in a closet, so I won't have online access–and more purchasing.)

I just got an email that my Night Blooming Dress got cancelled. It popped up in my size when I was checking the sale, so I added it to my order. Ah well, it was not meant to be, I guess.Stephanie, maybe we can start a club of divorced anthroholics. My hubby might be a little suprised at my Anthro binge this month. I ordered the honey butter skirt too but I want to keep it only if I absolutely love it as it is suade and I am not quite sure how to take care of it.

  58. January 19, 2010 / 7:59 pm

Just got back from the Fashion Valley store in SD- I found a Baraschi skirt marked down from $88 to $20 (I don't know the style name) and I finally found a flourishing obi tank! My store has been long sold out, and I found one, in my size, for $50. Still a little pricey, but I had some returns so I still got some dollars back. Second markdowns on the hollyhock dress to $40 (just returned a 4 fyi). Also has a ton of winged victory tops (which is weird b/c I never saw them in store before today) and simply lovely sweaterdresses in larger sizes. Oh, and a the pink Tracy Reese coat in a six for $150! Someone buy that please!(619) 291-2891And OT, but I am obsessed with the ravishing ruffles dress that just came out- I wish that would go on sale! $188 is a little steep for a jersey dress.

Lots of great cuts today, too bad I can't afford even the sale items today! 🙂 Excited that the Ice-Capped Blouse finally hit the sale!anthrohappy.blogspot.com

Hi Roxy!FYI… the very popular WINDING RUFFLE tall boot ( distressed? brown leather w/ ruffle going up the boot) is on sale! #940061 or style #16488272…I called CS and they told me that newport CA had(4 pairs of size 6 (now 3 b/c I snagged a pair)… I paid $141 inc tax… this boot hasnt been on the website for ages…it was in the catalog, sold out, reissued and then sold out online again… the newviews for it were very positive…I think it had over 160 reviews with 4.5 out of 5 stars? and majority said it fit TTS. Just called the SOHO store based on comments saying the winding ruffle boots were in stock…sadly, the largest size they have is an 8.

Hey all! Wanted to let you know that if you can snag an Elodie Lily Cardigan in-store, it's been marked down to 29.95! I was thrilled; I'd long given up on that one!

  63. January 19, 2010 / 8:13 pm

hi lauren i ordered a size 6, call cs they are very helpful.

Thanks for letting me know, Arin! I called them back and they said that shipping is only supposed to get waived if I tried another store first and they didn't have them and CS referred me to the Soho store. This seems obvious to me that this would be the case for the Ruffle boots, though, since they're sold out everywhere. Anyway, they're going to call me back. Fingers crossed.

Roxy – thanks for the link love. I did indeed post some new arrivals. I also linked over to your fab sale round up.

Glenda we were in the Austin anthro at the same time I think!I got there at 11 and left at 2. The skirted peacoat is in blue in a 4, 6, and 10 also available in a golden yellow color. Also man sweatercoats are actually $39.99 including a grey and colorful ruffled one and the grey cape with the peacock on it.

  67. January 19, 2010 / 9:12 pm

Glenda, Are you sure you saw the Elodie cardigan in the Austin store? I called and the manager said they hadn't had one for weeks.

Tien do you handwash your cashmere sweaters too? I have always wanted to but have been scared too. Also not sure what it is called but in Austin the cream sweater skirt with the big chiffon roses got a 2nd markdown to $49.99 and was available in XS, S, M and L still as of an hour ago.

Sarah I saw the Elodie cardigan too. It must have been a return because it wasn't there a few days ago. It was in the sale room hanging with the sweater coats. IT was a large and i picked it up and put it back because a medium would work better for me.

Carmeh — You should handwash all cashmere sweaters. Although the label says dry clean, all the experts recommend that handwash is better. They even say that you should not wash your cashmere sweater more than once or twice a year because too much washing will wear down the cashmere wool. I hand wash all my cashmere sweaters and I use a special cashmere detergent (I bought at J Crew) which keeps the cashmere soft.

  73. January 19, 2010 / 9:40 pm

Carmeh–I hand wash all of my sweaters, especially the cashmere ones. I remember reading somewhere that the chemicals they use when dry cleaning can eat away at the fibers. I've hand washed all my sweaters for years and never had a problem with the exception of some that has appliques. If the appliques have unfinished edges, they will lose their shape and unravel, and in that case, I'd recommend dry-cleaning.

I was up when the sale stuff appeared (yay being on the west cost!) and I scored the Open Wing Heels that I have almost bought so many times. I am so excited!!! I also nabbed the Tattling earrings (thanks, Tien) and the Bias Ruffles Racerback.I'm going shopping this afternoon, so I will let you know if anything is left in the Bridgeport (OR) store.

Roxy,Well today I scored the Smoked Stacked Heels 😀 I couldnt believe they were on sale!!! I hope they fit and they are not too big because I usually wear 9-10 size shoes, I also got the beaded clutch because I have a black cocktail dress I wanted to pair it with and 4 earings including the silver tatting drops. I had to make tough decisions on my cart to stik with those items, so I had to forgo the iced capped blouse, the leading lady trench and some other stuff and stick with what I really wanted. Sorry you missed the Chie shoes 🙁 I hope you got some other goodies.

  79. January 19, 2010 / 10:21 pm

Hi Roxy, I was wondering if the Tuesday sales & markdowns are all through the year or just in these few months? I'm new to Anthro, and I just spent a whole lot of money on the last sale. I'm wondering if I can possibly justify more spending this month …. and if they dont have sales all year round I definitely can 🙂

  80. January 19, 2010 / 10:27 pm

Katie – your internal thought process is great! I'm usually doing the opposite, talking myself into something ridiculous. "roxy, of course you know how to care for something made entirely of feathers!! You NEED that top," etc.Anna – the Divorced Anthroholics club will be sponsored by Effortless Anthropologie. I'll also sponsor the husband support group!Molly Darling – I am loving your new photo! Very cute. Thrilled to hear the Hollyhock got a second markdown too.Elizabeth, I am sooo happy to hear that the Winding Ruffle Boot is on sale. Unfortunately I was not able to get them over my calves (grumble) so I will have to live vicariously through everyone who did get them. :)Hi Kim — of course! I will be stopping by your blog after work to say hello.Ohh, on second thought after reading Athena's comment maybe I'll buy the boots and attempt to get them stretched….Lindy LOL I will happily take you up on the cocktail sometime. So glad you had success today. :DStephanie congrats! I am bummed but not too badly as I was able to pick up a bunch of stuff today. It all works out in the end. Thanks to everyone who has stopped by today, and especially for sharing what store stocks look like.

  81. January 19, 2010 / 10:29 pm

couchpapaya — welcome! They do markdowns year round, normally on Tuesdays but not always. And they are not usually this big. And to all, I will have a reviews post up later tonight. 🙂

Carmen–we were in the Austin Anthro at the same time! Maybe we should come up with a secret sign or saying, like "May your Anthro be effortless!"Sara22185–I hope you were able to nab the Elodie! Sometimes I come across stuff SAs that go under their radar in the sale room. I think Carmen is right–the items must have been returns, and is understandable that they were missed, since Anthro has hundreds of items in their inventory…

Does anyone know how the winding ruffle boots fit? I'm usually a 7. Bc they are sold out I can't find the reviews for them on anthro.com….

  85. January 19, 2010 / 11:06 pm

Anon @ 5:30Thank you for the info. I called and the SA said there was a snag on the front. I'll keep trying.I tried calling the 800 number but they said they don't have any in stores. Such a great community!!

  86. January 19, 2010 / 11:15 pm

Hi Ladies!I'm glad everyone is scoring such fantastic sale loot 🙂 I had a question about the nature of price adjustments I was hoping someone might be able to clear up. It was my understanding that, if an item is marked down within 14 days of purchase, it is eligible for a price adjustment. I purchased an Elodie Lily cardi last week for $70and today several people reported seeing them in stores for $30. When I called CS to get a price adjustment I was told that I couldn't have one unless there were at least 3 Elodie Lily cardigans in the store at that price. What gives?I'm relatively new the this wonderful little anthro-loving community. Thank you all (especially Roxy!) for your fashion insights and shopping tips!-Jen-Jen

    January 19, 2010 / 11:23 pm

Jen – I have never had that problem. They should give you the price adjustment as long as it's within 14 days. Usually they don't check inventory, they just check to see what the price is in the system.

I just read your post above, I have the Gulliver's Blouse, bought it from Nordstrom since it was already on sale there, it's awesome, great quality. Now time to switch to the Spring collection 😀 Did you get anything from the Spring stuff yet?

  89. January 19, 2010 / 11:43 pm

Anon @ 6:03, they fit TTS in the foot and have generous room in the calves. They're very comfy too. They'll show wear and fade into a nice, warm brown.Jen that is really weird. I'd call back.Stephanie – Just the Climbing Cowlneck so far and the Snowcovered Fields Dress. More to come, I'm sure.I'm working on a reviews post now that should be up in about an hour or so.

    January 19, 2010 / 11:50 pm

Cool. awww the climbing cowlneck is already sold out online 🙁

  91. January 19, 2010 / 11:55 pm

Stephanie, the San Francisco store just got them in and they had plenty of that other color. The gray one, there were only a few, and one was an xs. I would have gotten it, but I had to cut it because I had a stack of stuff I was going to buy! And, I'm going back today to pick up a sale item… my wallet is crying. But at least I feel pretty!

  92. January 20, 2010 / 12:22 am

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely give CS service a ring in relation to a price adjustment later. In case anyone has been considering the Crop Patterns dress, it has received a second mark down to $50 that is not evident on the website yet 🙂

Jacquelyn: glad you were able to get the Spring Medley cardi. I got my price adjustment today. For anyone interested in this cardi the Short Hills NJ store had several size smalls.

Tien thanks so for the cashmere washing tips. I wondered if the J Crew cashmere wash was good and glad to hear from someone who has actually used it. I work at Banana Republic and have always hand washed my sweaters from there except for cashmere bc it is so expensive. Although when I sent one to be dry cleaned it was awful, it changed the texture of it completely. So I will be handwashing sweaters tomorrow. I feel your pain about your wallet today's purchase was a little insane.Glenda are you the lucky lady who bought the last pink suede circus belt for $19.99? I turned around for a second and it was gone :)sara22185 I am going by the Austin Anthro tomorrow to do an exchange so if I see the Elodie cardigan I will put it on hold for you. I will post here tomorrow if I find it for you.

The Frozen Crystals Dress STILL isn't on sale?! Geez! I don't know how much longer I can hold out! It has to go on sale soon (Although I have been telling myself this for weeks!) since it isn't the holidays anymore—and it is a holiday dress!

Carmen–that's so funny, but I wasn't the pink suede belt snagger. I hope you find it when you make your return today. One of the reasons I love haunting (shopping) at the b&m Anthro is that I'll never know what special item–usually unavailable online–will show up in the sales rack!

  107. January 20, 2010 / 4:28 pm

Carmen–you're welcome, but it was Diem who said she uses the J.Crew Cashmere wash. I just use an all natural, baby formula detergent (which is very mild).LInda–I combed the sales rack at Anthro last night, but no Tea Room Cardi.I did see a Spring Medley in a size L.

When it is super on sale at Anthro buy it, you can always return it later if you are on the fence. Hard to do though when you have to edit your purchases.
