hey roxy, have you seen the thousand tiers dress in a gray xs in any of your stores recently?

  2. January 5, 2010 / 12:34 pm

Hi Anon, I haven't seen the dress at all locally for over a month. Sorry!

if anyone sees the reverie top marked down a 2nd time, or the tempting trellis cardi's in store, could you please let us know if they're on sale? i just picked them up and would love to get a price reduction!!

  4. January 5, 2010 / 12:53 pm

HI Roxy,I think you linked to a review of the Simply Lovely Sweaterdress instead of the Fall Foliage Sweaterdress.

  5. January 5, 2010 / 12:56 pm

I did, thanks Jennifer. Link removed.

  6. January 5, 2010 / 1:20 pm

Hey, Roxy! Do you by any chance know if Anthro will hold sale items? I know some stores won't put sale items on hold for people…

  7. January 5, 2010 / 1:23 pm

Autumn, I've never had an issue putting sale items on hold but then again at this point most of the NYC staffs recognize me since I'm there so often. I'm of the opinion that if you ask nicely you usually get what you want. 😉

I'm disappointed with today's sale, after waiting for two weeks, but I hope all of you find something or things you've been looking for! If there are any lower in-store prices on the Full Canvas Cardi, could anybody please post about it? Thank you!

  9. January 5, 2010 / 1:53 pm

Gotten a few questions about this one — Tempting Trellis Cardi is not on sale.

  10. January 5, 2010 / 2:04 pm

anon@7.29am–there was 1 grey thousand tiers dress floating around in the sale section of the soho, nyc shop as of last saturday. it wasn't marked down at that point (i think they didn't know where to put it!), but i'm pretty sure it was either a S or XSanon @ 7.47am, soho, nyc also had a small handful of tempting trellis cardis (i believe M, L and XL) in the sale section–these were '96ed'…not technically on sale but about $9 off in order to move them out…generally that's a sign that they're becoming extinct so you might want to grab one while you can if it's something you're coveting!hope that helps!happy to see the daisy quarters, snowscape and sprinkled chiffon marked down…been keeping an eye on those for awhile!i'm attempting to head to the soho store later this morning if my toddler is in agreement! will report any good findings…

If anyone sees a Freshly Fallen Coat (xs or s) in store, please let me know! Thanks.

  13. January 5, 2010 / 2:37 pm

Stefanie thanks for the updates for Soho! Anon @ 9:30, I didn't see it on my tiplist but that doesn't mean it's not included. It's style #913327 if you want to give CS a call.

  14. January 5, 2010 / 2:45 pm

Snowscape- you are mine! Has anyone tried on the Full Canvas Cardi? Opinions? Fit? Thanks!

  15. January 5, 2010 / 2:48 pm

Blondmoma, if it's anything like the Wrappled-in-Ruffles jacket it's TTS and a bit short. I have a review of that one here.

  16. January 5, 2010 / 2:51 pm

Thanks Roxy! Just not sure it is worth 100.

I returned a xs gray thousand tiers dress to the Anthropologie in Oregon at the Bridgeport Village location just this past Saturday. I don't have their phone number, but you could probably call CS and ask them. It was the only one there.

just curious, the in a moment dress is not on sale apparently, but it is so strange when you check ebay there are so many of the dress posted on there for prices of $59.99 or $69.99 buy it now, i picked it up yesterday in case it went on sale today – but no luck. i don't understand why the qty on ebay is so high posted for so much lower than store price. Anyone have any ideas?

  19. January 5, 2010 / 3:24 pm

This sale made me pretty happy even though it most certainly did not make my wallet happy and also I can't even TELL if the Lolland was marked down but I'm doubting it — I may just have to break down and buy this one while my store still has it in. Sigh, I remember thinking this dress was slightly unflattering at first, and somehow it has turned into a full blown Anthrobsession! It's always the ones that you can't have…or the ones that have been redirecting home for a month and a half! :)Anyway, I was happy to see that the Daisy Quarters skirt was on sale since I was just commenting on your post the other day saying how great it looked on you and that I hope you could get it when the price went down! Were you tempted to buy it at all Roxy? Did you (or are you planning to) get it or anything else exciting from today's markdowns?

  20. January 5, 2010 / 3:27 pm

Oh, and I noticed the price of the Ruffian Lace tights had dropped $4 to $14.95 from $19.95 when I was writing my post this morning. I found this pretty funny. I wonder why they made such a minute price adjustment?

If anyone finds a Thousand Tiers dress in a size Large, would you please put it on hold and let me know? I'll return the favor whenever possible! Thanks! Mikamikaleigh@aol.com

  22. January 5, 2010 / 3:48 pm

Ashley, I have been very curious about the Anthro stuff showing up on ebay lately. I would love to know too!goldenmeans – I loved your commentary last night! I almost cried when I saw that you'd gotten the Buttoned Watercolor Dress. We should give each other warning before we return things. 😉 I also wanted the Hippopotamus Locket, I went to buy it one day and it was gone. Very sad. Anyway, for today's sale stuff I would like to pick up the Clustered Camellia Tee and maybe the Magnetic Fields Corset. But I'm trying to be good and save my pennies for birthday Anthro excursion in a couple of weeks.

  23. January 5, 2010 / 4:07 pm

Does anyone know the timeframe for requesting a price adjustment from CS? I purchased my Thousand Tiers dress in store exactly 2 weeks ago today…

  24. Diem
    January 5, 2010 / 4:09 pm

Lola — The time frame for the price adjustment is 14 days. If it is exactly two weeks, then you should be able to get the price adjustment today.

  25. January 5, 2010 / 4:27 pm

I'm trying to be good today so far I haven't pulled the trigger on anything even though I want the Snowscape tank. I need to get it together now the holidays are over. Plus besides the tank there's really nothing I really want right now since I still have more wishlist items that are not on sale today. Hopefully the tank lasts online for a little longer.

I need to stay strong Roxy….

  29. January 5, 2010 / 5:00 pm

Thanks Diem! I just got my $98 refund. Woohoo!

  30. January 5, 2010 / 5:01 pm

Ashley & Roxy – I noticed all those dresses showing up on ebay like right when the dress came out in stores. when I looked at the auctions it said the items were shipping from Hong Kong. I kind of wonder if these were made in China and some 'fell off the truck'. very interesting…

  31. January 5, 2010 / 5:06 pm

Ashley,I'm pretty sure the In a Moment dresses on ebay are samples, but don't know why there are so many out there. I took a risk and bought one a couple of weeks ago, a buy it now for $69. I was assured that it was first quality and it appears to be. The Maeve tag has been cut out, however. But the extra button is included just like the others, the sizing is the same, no defects. That said, now that I have it I think it's a bit too short on me. So if anyone wants to buy a size 4 yellow In A Moment dress, I have once, never worn, for sale: $69 plus shipping.

  32. January 5, 2010 / 5:07 pm

Hi Roxy Thanks for the links!I bought the manisa dress which has such a great fit! Also saw a lot of the sweater with grey and white polka dots with the laceneckline(sorry forgot name)onsale in dedham ma for 69.95

  33. January 5, 2010 / 5:10 pm

Oops, forgot – My email is jen.nielsen@comcast.net if anyone is interested in the In A Moment dress, discussed above.

thanks for your explanations, glad to hear others were wondering. well i wish i had taken advantage of the one i saw for sale on there last night then because i'm looking for the purple in a moment in a size 6 (or even 8)and would have much rather paid $69 over the full price in store. i'm hoping it goes on sale in the store soon though…

  35. January 5, 2010 / 5:22 pm

I saw an emerald cut dress size 0 in Burlington, MA this morning for $29.95! There was also an XS grey thousand tiers dress as well. If only I was a 0! Lots of good stuff…new sale stuff and old 🙂

  36. January 5, 2010 / 5:26 pm

Thanks for the sale tip yesterday Roxy! I jumped online asap this morning and picked up the last sz 0 stork club jacket 😀

Emily,CS told me The Freshly Fallen Coat was internet only. I ordered it and it was way too big. So size up. Also, it's very thin, won't be a warm coat. I found the flowers to be overwhelming – I had a small. I love my plaza ruffles so I do like embellishments. Good luck!

Loving the Daisy Quarters Skirt! Is it a go for anyone? I don't live close by to an anthro, and from reading the reviews, some people seem to think its poofy. What do you think, and how would you style it? Can it be casual? I just love the look but I need to justify buying it!!Thanks Marge

has anyone seen any second markdowns?

  40. January 5, 2010 / 5:47 pm

Does anyone know what's up with the two versions of the Swirling Villages Dress? Has anyone tried on the scoopneck version? This was the first I'd seen of it.

  41. January 5, 2010 / 5:49 pm

You can do it Stephanie. If any item you want is meant to be in your hands, it will still be there in a couple of weeks. The great thing about clothing is that even if you miss an item, something like it will come around again. :DGlad to hear about everyone's success so far. I'll be stopping by the store after work in search of some items for friends and community members. If you want me to look for something let me know and I'll try my best.

  42. January 5, 2010 / 6:01 pm

Thanks for the great sale update Roxy! Work is crazy and I dont' have time to do one so if you don't mind, I'm going to link my blog readers over to your sale update here :-)Emily – the Freshly Fallen Coat is online only, but I did get to try on a return at my store about a month ago. The coat is lovely, and I feel it runs tts to a bit big. I tried the xs and it was a bit roomy. The coat is gorgeous and soft, but paper thin like someone else mentioned.Goldenmeans, one of my readers told me the Lolland Dress was on the sale rack at her store, so you may want to check it out!

Thank you, Roxy. I woke up early this morning and scored the Fall Foliage Dress, and Wind-Rippled Tee in black, teal, and grey.

  45. January 5, 2010 / 6:22 pm

I seriously had anxiety dreams last night about the Glasshouse Dress going on sale, and it being soldout. I don't even know why since I don't even want it anymore. The Phlox Flats I would love to have; I just can't spend any money right now.I don't think the Scalloped Clouds Skirt is ever going to go on sale. Boo.

  46. January 5, 2010 / 6:24 pm

Marge — I bought the Daisy Quarters skirt. I wasn't planning on buying, but thought I would try it on since it was in the store. It's beautiful. I don't think it's that pouffy and the reason is that the waist is pretty high. I am planning on wearing my Small Package Cardi which is pink and cropped to pull out the pink in the skirt. Lola — Yippee! $98 savings is a good deal.

  48. January 5, 2010 / 7:18 pm

I'm actually really relieved there isn't anything I've been wanting on sale right now lol. Just wanted to report that I saw the Bustling Avenue dress on sale at my store over the weekend! It was marked down to about $99 or so.

Total longshot but has anyone seen the soft as feathers sweater dress in a size small or medium in stores? It's sold out online. It's the dress that has the zipper on the back part. Thanks.

  53. January 5, 2010 / 7:59 pm

tres tippy – i think you are in philly (i read your blog too :))was it the anthro on rittenhouse? do you remember what size they had in the dress? i'm headed over there in a little bit since I have some things on hold and i would looove if i could find it there on sale.

Laced Dots Sweater is on sale for i think $70. A plaid cardigan that's grey and lime green with black sparkle beads for $80.

  55. January 5, 2010 / 8:52 pm

report from the soho, nyc shop!:so, first off, very odd, but the bustling avenue is still full price at this location! i tried to price adjust the one i bought a week ago but no-go! there was 1 size 4 hanging out on a rack if anyone wants it, but be forewarned, soho will charge the full price!also, not on sale (or at least in the soho shop), the lolland dress–i was hoping for this one too, but left it at full price.on sales rack: (as of around noon today!) 1 laced dots sweater in size M, 1 tempting trellis in size XL (not on sale, but '96ed'), a handful of elimovnas in sizes 4, 10 and 12, various sizes of manisa and grand crus, assorted sizes and colors of the wind rippled tees (black, teal, grey…btw, is it my imagination or is the grey version much thinner then the others?!), a bunch of snowscapes, 1 sprinkled chiffon in size S, a bunch of wendice coats and a few stork jackets (i think i noticed only 1 or 2 in ivory and maybe 3-4 black), decent amt of lacemaker and a handful of daisy quarter skirts…hmmm..didn't get the greatest look at the knit/tee racks but i'm fairly sure i saw a bunch of the project alabama corset/tanks.phew! sorry for the scattered notes–i was toting my 24 month along and she kept making a run for the wooden rocking horse in the houseware section…oh for the days when i could recline the stroller and she'd nap through it all! :)hope this helps someone out…always worth a phone call even if it's not on the sale floor–i've discovered more then once they have hidden stashes in the back!

  56. January 5, 2010 / 9:31 pm

has anyone seen the laced dots sweater in any stores in a small?

  57. January 5, 2010 / 9:47 pm

Natalie, I was just at my local store in Towson, MD, and I *think* I saw a couple of size small Laced Dots sweaters. Give 'em a call! 410-828-5521.

At the La Jolla store:thousand tiers dress in XS, marked down to $40(?) because of a tear in the seam, and one large at reg sale priceone always a lady skirt, Lclustered camellia tees in assort. sizeswind rippled tees in black, teal, & gray, all sizesa bunch of snowscape tanks(858) 558-3007

  59. January 5, 2010 / 10:08 pm

Hi Ana – I saw a soft as feathers sweater dress in burlington, ma today…i think it was a medium…

  60. January 5, 2010 / 10:13 pm

Can anyone tell me if the Wind Rippled Tee shrinks at all after washing? I tried on the small and I felt like it fit perfectly, but I'm afraid it may shrink in the wash. I tried on the Medium, but it felt big on. Any advice?

  61. January 5, 2010 / 10:16 pm

sara22185 my Wind-Rippled Tee has held up fine to several washings (I have the in-store cranberry version). Just wash it inside out and line dry it.

    January 5, 2010 / 10:23 pm

Yeah you're right Roxy 🙂 there will always be some thing like it later.I stayed away from the sale today. Did you get anything?

  63. January 5, 2010 / 10:25 pm

crosspost from trade market:I saw two pair of budding t straps at one of my stores today- one size 8 and one size 10(858) 558-3007

  64. January 5, 2010 / 10:29 pm

Thanks Roxy! Think I'll keep the small then. Has anyone tried on the Granted Wishes Dress? It is so cute on the model, but I've never seen it in stores to try it on and am iffy on whether or not I want to order it.

  65. January 5, 2010 / 10:32 pm

Oh another FYI…I saw the Horizon Line Dress in Shell in sizes 8 and 12 and in Red in size 12 at the Tyson's store in VA.

  66. January 5, 2010 / 10:57 pm

The Durham, NC store also had several Horizon Line dresses (not on sale) in shell and two in red. I think the reds were 10s or 12s, and not sure the shell sizes, but there were several. Worth a call! No sale for me today — holding out on a 2nd cut for the Manisa dress. =) If the Snowscape tank gets a second cut, I might pick it up, but it's just not flattering enough on me for a seventy-dollar *tank top*.

  67. January 5, 2010 / 11:16 pm

If anyone is looking for the Tracy Reese Elimovna coat, there is a size 6 at the Wayne, PA store and the 5th Ave store in NYC (as of tonight). I finally found my size 4!

  68. January 5, 2010 / 11:43 pm

Philadelphia store has 3 thousand tiers dresses – XS, S, and L. There may have been more but they were the ones I saw together in the sale section but there were a few others strewn about the sale section. No bustling avenues dress though. Now that I think of it, I *think* the Marlton, NJ store MAY have had it in their sale section a few weeks ago (the sale section in the dressing room, not the one near the housewares items) but I didn't really have the time to go searching for it in my size. Hmm… too bad it's a slim chance they have any left now 🙁

Lauren H, you will not be disappointed! I caved and purchased the Elimovna coat a few weeks ago. After staring at it for months, and it being the LAST coat and in my size in our store for 2 months, I knew I had to buy it before I lost my discount. Ah, if only it had gone on sale 3 weeks ago when a bunch of other coats had gotten marked down!

    January 5, 2010 / 11:48 pm

The Tucson store did not have Lolland dress or Bustling Avenue dress marked down. However, there were three Twilit skirts (size 2, 10, and 12 I think?) with second mark-downs to $29.99. The sales area was pretty bare in general.

  71. January 5, 2010 / 11:57 pm

hi again~! Lauren~it was at the store in Wayne. They had about 4-5 of them, they had 1 size 0 and the others were about a size 10-12. Hope this helps someone!

Hi Roxy, I'm debating the Little Bit Country booties. I think you mentioned that you have them… what do you think? And what do you wear them with-skinny jeans, dresses & tights, etc?

  74. January 6, 2010 / 12:42 am

I love, LOVE, ♥ my Lil Bit Country booties. They're super comfy and they're scuffing up nicely. I wear them with skirts, tucked into jeans and even with my All Trades Dress (winterized). Get them — you will not be sorry. Thanks again to everyone for the reports! I'm hearing second markdowns *should* hit the site tomorrow, hopefully that happens. 🙂

  76. January 6, 2010 / 12:44 am

I saw the Laced Dots sweater, the one with the dots and the lace collar, at the Tucson store not more than 30 minutes ago. There were 3 size S, 1 size M. Hope this helps someone!

Thanks for the tip on the Little Bit Country booties Roxy! I haven't worn short boots like these before–how do you tuck your jeans in without them awkwardly bunching? And can you wear bootcut jeans over them? D you wear them with black tights/leggings or do you think the contrast is too much. Sorry for so many questions! I love your blog–you have great style!

I wonder what will be on second markdown!

Anon @ 8:05 – I tuck them into skinny jeans so I don't have rumpling issues. You could wear bootlegs over them, I have not tried it yet. Flares might work better because there's a pretty wide shaft on the boots. I think black leggings would work great! I've done them with plum/purple myself and they look really good.

Does anyone know how the second cuts generally work? Are the second cuts usually items that were discounted, say a couple of weeks ago, and haven't sold well since then or might they be items that were just discounted today? Thanks for any guidance.

I didn't see much in terms of 2nd cuts in the 2 stores I frequent (in Washington state); the only memorable 2nd cut I noticed was on a huge rack of Fortune's Favor Jumpers now $19.95. The Lefisdottir Seurat Posie Blouse has been on second cut for i think $59.95 for a while at the Bravern(425) 451-7171. I also saw a turquoise Cum Laude Blouse size 6, I think it was still marked for around $40 but they used to have a size 0 in that blouse going for $19.95 that used to sit right next to it, there wasn't any noticeble defect in the 0 so the SA's might have missed marking the 6 down. The Verite dress & the Bustling Ave dresses were not on sale at either store as well. The U Village store ( 206 ) 985 – 2101 had quite a few Tempting Trellis cardi's left for anyone looking.

Looking for the Snowdrift Tank in a small. I ordered it at about 6:45am yesterday and saw that my order went from processing to partially backordered for this item a few minutes ago? WTF? I ordered it for a friend of mine who saw it on me and loved it. I am wondering if there really will be additional stock or I am now going to get the cancellation email? There were still smalls available to be ordered online for a while on Tuesday after I ordered so I am not happy. Any tips anyone besides calling CS for a search? Thanks alot and I love this blog!

Hi, I;m also wondering about the First Frost coat…it was in stores a few weeks ago (I live in Canada), but is no longer online. I really love it, and was just waiting for it to go on sale.. is it still around?

It's definitely in stores around here (NYC). The 5th Ave store is almost fully stocked in all 3 colors. Not on sale yet.
