Sale is here, but Anthro’s getting crafty!

Good morning ladies! Some sections are updated, some are not, but I’ve done my best to compile all the items I see that got marked down. Still working on this post as you cruise but please do let me know what else you spotted on sale in the comments! I am in big trouble this week — several of my highly covetables got marked down. And oh my — Anthro snuck a shoe sale right under our noses! It’s almost too much. Happy hunting!!

I also have a request: please do not copy and paste this list in its entirety somewhere else! As a community, I link to other blogs/websites/forums/etc. when quoting their source material and I expect the same from other sites covering Anthropologie. There is enough room for everyone’s fresh ideas but there is no room for stealing content. It looks bad on you!

  3. April 6, 2010 / 7:40 am

I'm a little pissed that the wright dress is still full-price. come on Anthro! But I suppose I should be happy. Every single item I ordered last week went on sale, so PA :)If the Bretonnes blouse gets a markdown, will someone please let me know?

i found out how to do it. go the any other country on the international page and they, while checking out, chance the country and the currency to canada… and it worked! 🙂

  11. April 6, 2010 / 7:56 am

I'm with lindsay..elizabeth! I had 10 or so items that I was sure would go on sale – and only one of them did, the reed shirtdress! My wallet is relieved, but I'm just curious about a big chunk of those supposed tips. Obviously "tips" are no guarantee, but several people said the aniseed skirt, alena skirt, and even 2 people mentioned the drifting by dress (ok, that last one I didn't believe). But I'm really, really surprised the Wright dress hasn't gone on sale yet. I've had that one pegged for sale for a month! But thank you so so much Roxy for keeping all of us so updated!

  12. April 6, 2010 / 8:05 am

Canadian blog readers – Out of curiosity, do you ladies still get the "International" Anthro site or have you been moved to the new EU site (or did Anthro also create a new Canadian site)? I'm just curious… I visited the EU site recently and was shocked to see that items that have hit 2nd cuts on the US site were full price in the EU. To make matters worse, it seems like Anthro came up with EU prices by writing pound/euro signs in front of the US numbers (so a dress that costs $148 in the US all of a sudden costs 148 pounds or $225 in Britain).

  13. April 6, 2010 / 8:06 am

noooo waited too long and the reed shirtless just went out of stock in my cart :(. darn it.

  14. April 6, 2010 / 8:07 am

er shirtdress. haha, don't know what i was thinking :p

  15. April 6, 2010 / 8:11 am

Although as sad as I am about my picks not getting marked down _ my wallet is THRILLED. Picked up my green reed shirtdress (which I've been patiently waiting for) and that is all!

  16. April 6, 2010 / 8:14 am

I am glad not everything I wanted made sale because I think I would not have been able to control myself!!

  17. April 6, 2010 / 8:26 am

Did the fifth form shift get a markdown?

  18. April 6, 2010 / 8:30 am

Jinii — nope, still full price. (Unbelievably.)

  19. April 6, 2010 / 8:32 am

Good morning and THANKS again, Roxy!

  20. April 6, 2010 / 8:33 am

pindot tights, striped tights, and diamond plate tights are also on sale…roxy, thank you so much for compiling this list! now, it's time to go back to bed. =)

  21. April 6, 2010 / 8:40 am

yaaaaay, reed shirtdress, yaaaaay vanilla bean blouse. :DI hesitated, and somebody snapped up the last 4 in the Vanilla Bean Blouse. I went ahead and ordered a 6, I hope I can make do. I'm usually a 6, but the reviews say it runs big.But boooooo I really wanted a PA on the Lift-Off Jacket, and now that isn't happening. I also wanted to snap up the Air Mail skirt, but of course THAT isn't on the list either…

  22. April 6, 2010 / 8:41 am

Thanks Roxy!! I was able to score the reed shirtdress in green, the ticker tape belt (on sale for $29.99!), and the spotlight tank!! You are the greatest!! Now hopefully I can fall back asleep after my shopping high 🙂

  30. April 6, 2010 / 9:07 am

Wow, this is a ton of stuff! Thanks so much for the list Roxy, it's awesome.I'm so happy the Cinched Cables Cardigan got marked down to $59.95 – it was on my wishlist forever, and I finally caved on it the last day of the F/S promo; yay price adjustments. 😀 Like others, I just caved on the Reed Shirtdress in green, and the Full Bouquet Clip in coral. 2 belts almost made it into the order – the Caning Double Belt ($19.95) and the Ticker Tape Belt ($29.95) – but then I remembered how belted out I am. (15? 20? 25? Oh my.)I'm not surprised that the Aniseed Skirt did not go on sale since it was on backorder for months in the smaller sizes – mine just got delivered last Thu. (If anyone's interested, I returned it in size 4 to the Palo Alto, CA store on Sat.)

  31. April 6, 2010 / 9:08 am

Glad to hear so many of you scored the Reed Shirtdress (and my commiseration for those whose side was sold out). I ended up getting a couple of things myself…the Stratus Cloud Top in both colors and a full-price splurge in the Helianthus Cuff. Bummed out still because the Tic-Tac-Toe Blouse is long gone in my size. Store stalking to commence later today. 😉 I love hearing what everyone is getting so please keep your scores coming! I will update with 2nd cuts later this morning.

  32. April 6, 2010 / 9:09 am

I was very good today, there were really nothing in the clothing that I wanted except for the Sewing Club Hoodie, I also scored the Diffusion Vest for 19.95!!!! It popped back online, I've regretted so much not getting it the first time. I splurged on the Underlined Heels since I have a lot of my budget left from not shopping at Anthro the last three weeks 😀 I really wanted this shoes. I debated between that and To-The-Top Booties but I went with The Underlines heels since I figured I will use it with more outfits this Spring/Summer.

I remember because I think Lindsey..Elizabeth was looking for this dress in a different size so I had checked them out.Roxy you are too funny! I loved your pants/tights comment. Thank you for your dedication.I jumped on the wagon and picked up a Reed Shirtdress (wishlisted FOREVER), a Full Bouquet Clip (I already have the coral and LOVE it) and the Astronomical Hoodie.Too bad the Lift-Off Jacket didn't get a markdown. I could've used that PA.

  47. April 6, 2010 / 12:22 pm

I ordered the Reed Shirtdress in green in a 12. Hoping it fits this time. I just got the blue plaid one and had to return it – sized up by one size to a 10 and still didn't fit across the girls. :(I also ordered a pair of Chies (blanking on name but the low heel MJs), the Long and Lean Tunic, and that red/blue skirt, and the berry bush tights. I'm going to check out the B&M near me later this morning to see what else I can find. Thanks as always for posting the sale stuff!

  48. April 6, 2010 / 12:25 pm

I know it'd be a lot more work, but maybe you can put these posts in pdf form, so people cannot just copy/paste the content elsewhere (but the links would still be clickable, as opposed to creating a flash image of the list).

  49. April 6, 2010 / 12:34 pm

Good morning Roxy and thanks for the update! I was finally able to get the reed dress in green and I also got the lean tunic which I wanted FOREVER! I feel so excited because last week I was tracking and found the reed dress in solid navy… so, now that I will get my price adjustment I will have Two lovely reed dresses for the price of one. yay!

  50. April 6, 2010 / 12:34 pm

hi ladies. i know it's an extremely popular item, but if by chance you happen to see a reed shirtdress in navy size 10, please put it on hold for me. it's the ONLY item that i want (hard to believe, i know). i'll be in communicado until about 6 tonight, so i won't be able to call or get emails. thanks so much ahead of times.

  51. April 6, 2010 / 12:42 pm

For those looking, the Wright dress and Aniseed skirt were both in the sale room in Philly on Sunday (not sure of the sizes b/c I wasn't looking for myself, but there were more of the dress than the skirt). Neither item appears to be updated to the sale online as of yet.

  52. April 6, 2010 / 12:44 pm

WEIRD! I'm looking at the fresh cuts & the Alena skirt is listed at full price with all the sale items! I tried adding it to my cart to see if it just wasn't showing the correct price on the listing, but it is still full price. hmm maybe they're trying to trip people up.

  53. April 6, 2010 / 12:45 pm

tastymoog~i was there on sunday too!! i only saw two of the wright dress and both were a size 4.

  54. April 6, 2010 / 12:47 pm

tippy, ahh, it would have been fun to run into you! the sale room was crazy on Sunday, so many people. when I was there, I think there were about 6 wright dresses. those things are going fast!

  55. April 6, 2010 / 12:52 pm

Seriously, really, no snowmelt cardi?Need advice- order my cart now or wait until second cuts just in case?

  57. April 6, 2010 / 12:58 pm

Oh my! I'm happy for those who were really wanting the Reed Shirtdress. Hope you all find your size.As for me, I'm mostly excited about all the cute cardis. I'm hoping I can find the Hues Unfolding, Happy Hour, and Petal Tart cardis. I'm also going to hunt for the Parachuting Petals top, Claret Cut, and Spotlight Tank.Lots of lovely jewelry as well! The one disappointment for me is the shoes. Tulip Slingbacks didn't go on sale and even marked down, all of the ones I'm interested are still over my budget. Thanks Roxy for taking the time to compile these extremely helpful lists!

  58. April 6, 2010 / 1:04 pm

Lola: I'm in Canada. I get the international site when I go to anthro, but I change it to the US one since I ship to my parent's house in the US. Man I am so bummed that the wright dress didn't go on sale. No PA for me 🙁 I like the reed shirtdress, but I don't dare buy it after paying full price for the wright dress.

  59. April 6, 2010 / 1:21 pm

Didn't someone say that the wright dress was marked down in their store? I LOVE it, my size is sold out on line but I need the price adjustment.

  60. April 6, 2010 / 1:21 pm

WHOA. Normally I am able to cover my eyes for these sale posts out of sheer strength of will, but holy moly. Brb running to the store.

  61. April 6, 2010 / 1:24 pm

Angie, second cuts, imo, are risky–most things don't get one or if they do, it's hard to find your size. If there's an item you really love, definitely get it now. But if you're lukewarm on anything and wouldn't feel too sad if you lost it, keep it in your cart 🙂

  62. April 6, 2010 / 1:25 pm

If an item is marked down at a single store, or just a few stores, but not online it's being done to clear out store inventory. Unfortunately CS and other stores will not price match in this case.

I remember someone was asking for the King Size Rosette Quilt long ago. You're in luck! It's back online!

  65. April 6, 2010 / 1:37 pm

I just called the Philadelphia store and they no longer have any Wright Dresses. Also, I called CS regarding the Alena skirt and it IS still full price and they have no idea why it's on the sale page??? So odd.I only bought the Cockadoodle dress and Berry Bush Tights. I am super tempted to grab the green Reed dress, but I tried the plaid version and it did not look good on me – at all. I keep reminding myself of this. NOT GOOD, JAN – move along from your shopping cart…

Roxy,I fell asleep on the couch last night and woke up around 3:30am and logged on. I saw you working very hard to update and put the sale list together. Ahh, the sacrifice of sleep for sale. Thanks for all that you do and please get some sleep tonight! LOL :)ps: just curious – what are the size differences in the Reed Shirtdress (solid color vs. the plaid)? I tried on the 6 in the plaid and the waist was tight. I'm wondering if I need to size up in the solid or the solid ran a little bit more TTS?

thanks so much roxy for the links, your blog is just awsome!oh the reed dress, i have the red plaid already, now i'm tempted to get it in the blue plaid and the navy. so bummed the wright dress didn't go on sale. well, there's always next week.irene

Lauren S., I'm with you on the Tulip Slingbacks, sob. My chances of finding a 6 are in 'slim to none' territory already, and even on sale they aren't in my budget right now. Oh well!I love those foil-wrapped heels, but they'd have to get a second cut before I'd grab them. Maaaaaybe the color will deter people? Maaaaaybe? I can dream! Hey, it worked out for me with the luminous boots (oh hi, $30 leather boots, how are you doing in my closet this morning?). I scored the Reed dress in navy thanks to Keenan, who graciously stalked CS before I'd even woken up and emailed me stores to call! If someone sees a green or navy Reed dress in a 14, PLEASE email m(dot)keenancaldwell(at)gmail(dot)com so my helpful fiend can have one, too!

Jan, lol! The Reed dress didn't look good on me either. I totally understand why others are enamored with it, but I definitely think there are more flattering dresses for me out there, and I'm sure the same is true for you. But yes, it's hard to resist sale prices, even for things you're not 100% thrilled with.

  73. April 6, 2010 / 2:02 pm

Oh, and Anon RE reed dress color differences, I found the plaid to run big to the point of looking frumpy on me. I really didn't like the fit in that color, but I tried the navy and totally changed my opinion! The navy is more fitted in the waist, I'd say. My advice would be to consider sizing up in the navy if you have a larger chest and to go with your true size in plaid (or maybe even size down if you have thin arms — beware that the arms are on the snug side in both colors!). I haven't tried on the orange/green, so I can't say for sure on those. Good luck!

  74. April 6, 2010 / 2:06 pm

I don't know if you want this here or not but the Star Sprinkled Cardi had a second markdown this morning to 49.95.

  75. April 6, 2010 / 2:10 pm

Scattered Sequins Skirt got a second cut too down to 29.95

  76. April 6, 2010 / 2:12 pm

Hi all- So sad…the Reed Shirtdress disappeared from my cart. If anyone sees any solid color in a size 14, please email faceartists at aol dot com or put on hold for Amber.I actually prefer the green or navy, but will take any solid color. Thanks!

something weird with the alena skirt again. it is now on sale in my canadian cart (around 50 CAD) but it is now "not internationally shippable" so i can't get through with my order… it is still full price on the us site…

  78. April 6, 2010 / 2:17 pm

Thank you for compiling this list! The dress I want (Reed Shirtdress) is sold out in my preferred size/print combo so I am going to have to make a trip to the store.

Re: Reed ShirtdressI agree with Katie above. I own the navy solid and bought it when it first came out. This one runs small and sizing up seems to be a must unless you have a smaller ribcage and thinner arms. Also, this version is shorter. I wear it with skinny jeans or leggings and boots. When the plaid version came out, I first saw it in a SA at Anthro. I kept staring at her, because the length of the skirt was much longer! I wondered if it was the same dress. When I tried it on, my regular size 0 fit well. This means I wouldn't need to size up in the plaid version. However, I wasn't crazy about the longer skirt. It made me look matronly and old fashioned when all I want is to look modern and chic!!! It works well for other people, so I hope you all can grab it on sale!ny0311

  90. April 6, 2010 / 3:13 pm

Lots of 2nd markdowns in stores. Also the longing for yellow dress is marked down and the rare bloom tees by deletta (I finally scored one! Yes!)

  94. April 6, 2010 / 4:11 pm

Yay! got my green Reed Shirtdress..shipping to me from Palo Alto, CA…still wondering about the Astronomical Hoodie if anyone has any info re: sizing

  95. April 6, 2010 / 4:23 pm

So now the Alena Skirt is out of stock although it was never on sale? Confused… Last night's bounty included: Vanilla Bean Blouse, Berry Bush Tights in both colors, and a non-sale item, Chalk and Charcoal Skirt.

Is the Wright dress on sale in stores?

  98. April 6, 2010 / 4:43 pm

Quit playing games with my heart Alena skirt!Seriously though, that's very strange. Did some people see a discount and others not? At least all sizes are out across the board with suggests to me it (hopefully) isn't sold out and is just a system glitch.

  99. April 6, 2010 / 4:43 pm

Jessebel, I'm confused, too! I liked that skirt, but my store never got it in, so I couldn't try it on! Now what am I gonna do? Sigh. I didn't like it enough to pay full price, so hopefully my size will pop back when I can actually see that it's on sale. =P They must have had realllly low inventory or something because, geez. That thing sold out faster than the Reed dress!

  100. April 6, 2010 / 4:49 pm

  102. April 6, 2010 / 4:50 pm

Sharon,Glad you got the Reed dress!Re: Astronomical Hoodie sizing, I ordered a medium (I am a size 4/small normally) because I like my hoodies for lounging and that means oversized. I never tried it on in the stores but when I held it up it seemed TTS, not excessively big or small. This is my first top from Sat./Sun.; from my experience their bottoms always run TTS.What is up with the Alena skirt?! On the sale page, not on sale, and now not available?? 107. April 6, 2010 / 5:03 pm

My guess is they are trying to update the Alena skirt to reflect the sale price online…I got antsy and called b&m where it's $49.95. Since I was already caving, I also -gulps- bought the Wright dress full price. According to CS my size has very limited availability at this point and I really want this dress for family pictures next month. I hope I love it!

So excited that the Shoofly trench is finally on sale! I called my local B&M yesterday just in case, and they have one holding for me. Yay!

  112. April 6, 2010 / 5:35 pm

I called CS a little bit ago and they told me the Alena skirt was being cancelled, thus why the inventory has been unceremoniously yanked offline. Not sure if that's actually the case or if it just looks that way — she seemed confused about the whole thing. Anyway, she wasn't able to track down the skirt in stores for me either b/c of the cancellation so I called my area B&M stores (all kind of far but worth it if this is on sale) and finally found one that has my size. I'm assuming if this inventory cancellation thing is legit then the skirts will be on sale in store since they're trying to get rid of inventory!

  117. April 6, 2010 / 5:56 pm

@Anon – Definitely try calling your B&M. I had asked CS if that meant they were just taking all inventory off the floor as well and she said yes. But when I called the actual stores, they were still selling…or at least they better be b/c they're holding that skirt for me :)A somewhat unrelated question:For those of you who have ordered from a non-local store, do those types of orders show up on your account online? Or is there anyway to track it? Or do you just hope the SA remembers to ship your item and pray it gets to you soon? :p Just antsy b/c I don't want to lose my Reed shirtdress again!

  120. April 6, 2010 / 5:58 pm

Any idea why they pulled the Alena skirt? Now I'm kind of antsy that there's something wrong with it, etc. That seems /really/ unusual for Anthro, so I'd like to know why before I go hunting for one.

  121. April 6, 2010 / 5:59 pm

Phyllis-re: charge and send from non-local store…usually the day after I order an item from another store, (or later that same day if I called them early enough) I call them and ask them for a tracking number for the item. They (almost) always use UPS for store orders so this always works for me. So far I've not had anything disappear…

  122. April 6, 2010 / 6:00 pm

phyllis – if you call an anthro retail location and order something, your order will not reflect in your order status online. I've never had an issue with not receiving something, and just go on good faith, but typically if you call the store back a couple days later, they can give you the tracking #.

  123. April 6, 2010 / 6:03 pm

Went to the Westport, CT, store today. They had a fair number of Vanilla Bean Blouses and Reed Shirtdresses in green (0, 4) and red plaid (4 and 8, I think; there may have been other sizes, but 8 was definitely the highest). So if anyone's looking for those! Also, if anyone fancies the blue (so-called white) version of the Through-the-Clouds Tank, I returned a size small. So call them if you're searching for any of those items! And omg, ladies, I wasn't keen on the Reed Shirtdress and wasn't sure what all the fuss was over, but I tried the green on today and WOW. It's divine. I had another awesome surprise while I was at Anthro, too; I found a Pessinus Garden Necklace in silver! I thought that was long gone! Needless to say, it came home with me. The return I went for became an exchange, so I ended up spending 4 dollars for both items. Totally beautiful retail experience.

I went to both Seattle Anthros. today. Downtown has a ton of Vanilla Beans, several berry blossom tights, three Hues Unfolding (one M, one L, and one XL), and quite a few Cockadoodles. Funny thing is that I got to U. Village just as they opened and saw they had three plaid Reed dresses. In the 15 minutes I was there, two sold to callers. LOL. And by the time I got to Downtown one hour after they opened, they had no Reed dresses at all. So I guess that was the item of the day.I got the Claret Cup, Spotlights, and blue parachute top (blanking the name right now), but didn't have any luck finding Hues Unfolding or the Happy Hour Cardigans. Does anyone know what recalling in Anthro terms can mean? 166. April 6, 2010 / 9:02 pm

Got to the Corte Madera, CA Anthro around 10:30 this morning and was shocked to have the sale room basically to myself while I was browsing!Tons of Alena skirts in both pink and navy on the sale rack.Several Reed shirtdresses. I think only one in the solid green in a smaller size (4 perhaps?) and several in the red plaid. I think there might have been a 12 in the bunch. Also spotted on the racks: Pictureshow Dress, Bayan Dress, Midnight Fields Dress, Peeking Needlework Dress, Fairy Cake Dress, Longing-for-Yellow Dress (one only).Several Ode to Spring Tanks in all sizes (I snagged one myself!) which are now sold out online.Lots of the Suave Shell in both colors and full range of sizes.A *bunch* of the Field of Fancy blouse (I'm assuming a full range of sizes, but I didn't check)Hidden Hue blouse (several, including size 12)Blueberry Peplum blouse (several)Debonair Doily topA couple Vanilla Bean blousesThere was one Daisy Quarters skirt in a size 8.They had some dresses in their sale room that aren't on sale yet online, including:Cherie DressDaily Gathering Dress

  180. April 6, 2010 / 9:30 pm

Thanks for the style # Roxy, you are awesome!

  181. April 6, 2010 / 9:31 pm

Tulip and Roxy, thank you SO MUCH for your thoughtful store reports and info! A girlfriend txted me that the skirt was spotted and I just got off the phone with the store and was FLOORED to learn it was already under my name! What a wonderful community! BTW, it shipped for $54. Marked $49, plus tax. I can't believe there was an 8 in store! I hope I can soon pay forward this kindness with my own store report tomorrow or Saturday (depending on how my dissertation writing productivity pans out).

The skirts were recalled because they were catching on fire when exposed to sunlight and heat, maybe

  183. April 6, 2010 / 9:35 pm

Desiqueen, I know that one of the Daily Gathering dresses was a Large and was (I think) $170.96. From what I've learned on this board, the 96 cents indicates that it's damaged (I think….someone please correct me if I'm wrong!). I didn't notice any obvious signs of damage, but I didn't examine it thoroughly either. I'm not sure if the other dresses were also marked the same, or if they are just trying to clear out the last few in the store. Give them a call! 415.924.4197! Good luck!

  184. April 6, 2010 / 9:36 pm

Jesspgh – glad to hear you got your skirt! It's such a cute item! Enjoy! 🙂

  185. April 6, 2010 / 9:42 pm

Aww! I'm glad Jess got her skirt. I love our little community here full of wonderful and sweet people like Roxy and Tulip 🙂 On a sidenote: skirts catching ON FIRE? I'm beyond horrified.

  186. April 6, 2010 / 9:45 pm

LOL! A skirt catching on fire? What is the burning point of rayon/tulle/chiffon? I think it's pretty high so that's unlikely. Don't want to be starting any rumors.

Hi everyone,Does anyone know whether or not the Aniseed skirt went on sale in stores? I don't want to miss this one, but my local store didn't have it at all!The Boston store had (I think!) a 4 and 6 in both the red plaid and blue plaid Reed shirtdresses for anyone who's looking.

  188. April 6, 2010 / 9:50 pm

Thanks tulip! I guess that is just one damaged item that was marked down, since it is just 10% off retail…can't wait for that dress to be marked down!

  190. April 6, 2010 / 10:00 pm

Desiqueen, there was definitely more than one of the Daily Gathering dress, but whether they were all damaged, or just that one, I don't know. Again, they might just be trying to get rid of the last few. But, I agree, that's one that definitely needs a good sale price! It's really flattering on!

If my butt's going to catch on fire then at least it'll look good doing it.Anyway for those of you still looking for your Reed fix, lots on the sale rack in blue plaid (mix of sizes, largest was either 8 or 10), red plaid (only a couple but I did see one in 14!! So snap that up!), green and the orange red in a mix of smaller sizes 0-6. Hope that helps someone!

hello roxy, i called a store in TX to put an item on hold for me, but to have the shipping waived, they told me to order the item thru my city's anthro store. i wouldnt mind paying shipping, but I was wondering if you or anyone else in the community could shed some light on this process. Do i need to be physically present in my anthro store to order my item from the tx store or can i just call my local store and have them order it? I know i can call my local store and ask the same question but I'm just worried they may be swamped today b/c of the sale.

@ Anon 6:27, It's definitely more orange than red for sure not a neon orange. I'd say it's a rich orange with some red undertones. At least in the dim Anthro lighting ;). Certainly will attract attention but you will not look like a traffic cone 🙂

  210. April 6, 2010 / 11:17 pm

Oops! Just saw your post that Roseville didn't have the Eltham Crops. They've been there forever I'm surprised they didn't have them anymore. When I was there they were not with all the other pants. They were located on the bar immediately to the right when you walk into the sale room (on the end closest to where they usually keep any shoes to be exact). There were actually two pairs (the 0 and a I think a 10). Not sure if you want to call back or not, but hopefully this information will help if you do :).

  211. April 6, 2010 / 11:33 pm

Thanks Anon who posted about the Garnet Glow Dresses, there is only a 14 left now.

  212. April 6, 2010 / 11:47 pm

TGA, I just tried this one on today for the first time. I'm 5'2 and curvy with a large bottom/hips. I tend to range in a 4-8 on the bottom depending on what the brand is of the skirt (I tried on that new Leifsdottir Coming and Going Skirt for fun, and I think I would need a 10!). I saw this skirt in my store, and found a 4 and a 6. I did take the advice of the reviews I did see and let it sit high on my waist. The 4 was incredibly uncomfortable and I didn't even bother zipping it up. The 6 was uncomfortable as well due to the lining. I stepped out of my fitting room in it, it looked stunning – incredibly flattering, and the shell of the skirt looked like it may even have been a bit large. Whatever the SAs and I were SEEING, the lining was about 3 sizes smaller than the shell. It's gorgeous, and I bought the 6 at $30, and am planning on either splitting the lining, or just removing it altogether. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the update mamanetbebe! I go from a 25-26 usually so we'll see if they fit! I tried my luck w/ CS one more time & they were able to track them in store this time w/o the earlier recall issues. If anyone else here, by chance, is searching for the Eltham Crops in a sz.0 CS directed me to call Atlanta, GA (404)237-4175 or a store in Philedelphia, PA(215)568-2114. I was charged standard shipping, but I've been informed recently by a few different CS associates that shipping is only waived if I charge/send an item that is out of stock online through CS, but I think that the item has to be available in significant quantities in order for CS to order it for you.

Or maybe this was just their last one (which I think is the case) and they put it on sale.I didn't check the price or the size. However, I had seen just one smaller size Longing for Yellow dress hanging out at that store for the past couple of weeks, so that might be the same one. went to my local store tonight, lots of stuff in the sale room! I'm not too familiar with all the names of the items, but I'll try my best:-tons of tights — berry bush in both colors, the small dotted ones (is that the pindot tight?), striped tights… there was a table with 5-6 boxes full of tights.-a few spotlights tanks – XS and S-a handful of dollops of cream blouses-rare bloom tees – one teal in L, a few navy's in XS, one S, and maybe a XL?-immutable jackets – several navy and one grey; can't remember sizes, but no M's.-lots of long/lean tunics-lots of raveneli blouses-a few milady skirts-shoofly trench – 2, 4, 8, and 10, I think. So cute, but i was good and passed b/c I really don't need a trench right now!-two racks of pants/jeans — didn't really look that closely through themlots of stuff on sale — this is only a fraction of it, since I don't know all the item names, and there was just too much stuff to remember it all.and even though I'm not too familiar with the reed shirtdress, I think I recognize it since it was in the catalog… so take this with a grain of salt, but I think I saw a red/orange plaid in sz 12 or 14, and a solid kelly green one in size 0.this was all at the princeton nj store. hope this helps someone!

i just noticed that the pike place dress isn't marked down online. i guess this is just the austin store? if you're interested, i remember seeing them in size 0, 2, 6. i sized down in this one. i just read roxy's review and agree it's more UO (my friend gave me a face because it was too unfinished looking for her taste). but i am in love with how it fits (cinching corset) and like the raw look.

  255. April 7, 2010 / 3:40 am

My friend and I went to the Anthro in Marlton, NJ. They had some Reed Shirt dresses, Shoofly trenches, tons of stockings and ruffled tunics (forget the name).Best deal of the day, I got a Thousand Days skirt in orange-y copper for only $19.95! They have one left in a 12, same color!

I remember that dress started out almost $300, so that's a steal. There was a 10 and another smaller size.Lots of Alena skirts, 2 xs spotlight shirts, 2 small skybound button-ups, and that's all I remember.Reston has shirtdresses as well- They had a few Red Plaid, with the highest size being a 10, and a Navy, which I think was a 10.A good amount of skybound button-ups, which has been on my wishlist forever, but it was just "eh" so I didn't buy it.

  304. April 7, 2010 / 8:52 pm

The Corona, CA (Dos Lagos) store had a rack full of Reed Shirt Dresses in every color today — navy, green, orange, and two plaids. Most were 0-8, but I tried on a red plaid in 12. That sucker runs small, doesn't it?

Lauren S.: The flats showed up in my wishlist. It sold out on-line. However, I saw them sporadically at local stores in Southern Cal in the past 1 or 2 weeks. I saw a pair at Newport Beach, CA and a pair at Carlbad, CA. I thought the shoes still float around. JFYI.Cindy

Someone should feel free to call and order it, as I don't plan to. If you do snag it, you might want to post here so they don't get lots of calls.

  308. April 7, 2010 / 10:30 pm

*sigh* Went through the bags and accessories section of the site for fun today and spotted the Peanut Butter Bow Tote. Fell in love and against my better judgement I pulled the trigger and purchased. Eep! At least I feel better knowing that I scored it on sale + and I've been looking for a brown leather bag for a while :p. Now I just have to deposit my paycheck and return a couple of items from my latest spree and all will be well in the world :p. BTW, for those of you who picked up the Alena skirt — will this recall business convince you to return? I really really love the skirt and gave CS a call to see if I could find out more about the recall decision but no luck, they seem as much in the dark as we are. I think it was a great purchase but would hate to keep it and find some huge defect in it later.

  309. April 7, 2010 / 11:14 pm

thought i would chime in with my 2 cents about the reed shirt dress. I tried on 2 of them at 2 different occasions in the solid colors and they wouldnt even close on me in my regular size 8. The skirt also made my hips look ginormous! I was at the 5th avenue store today in Ny, and lo and behold there was a Red plaid size 8 .. all alone and waiting for me. Since this was the color that I liked all along, i tried it on and it fit like a glove. Thanks to all the reviews i read here about how the plaid versions were a different cut! However the middle button where the belt woudl go was missing and a little ripped. The really nice SA gave me a whopping 25% off the dress. The button is easily sewable and once i put on the belt you wont even see it. So I bought my dress for 44.96 !!!!!

  313. April 8, 2010 / 2:31 am

Hey LadiesI just went to the Mt Lebanon Anthro tonight and saw a bunch of the red plaid shirtdress, I'm sorry I didn't check sizes but they had a handful. Also two white stratus cloud tanks in Medium Roxy :)So I have to mention the most amazing retail experience I had with a sales associate tonight. I didn't know she worked at anthro because it happened to be her day off and she was trying stuff on in the fitting room herself, but I popped my head out to get her opinion on a dress and we both agreed it needed a belt. She was holding in her hands a looping lanes belt (last one in the store) that she was going to buy and she grabbed a bunch of other belts for me off the floor to try (mind you she wasn't getting paid for this!). We both agreed the looping lanes looked the best but I didn't want to take HER belt. She insisted, and helped me pick out a few other things- completely enthusiastic and it was like my best friend helping me. UM Amazing. SO thank you Carrie for making my anthro shopping night the best experience I've had in years!

Jen-You should leave a comment about your great experience on Anthro's website in the 'contact us' link, if you haven't already done so. Apparently the comments get forwarded on to the respective store so there's a good chance your best-bud/SA would see it!

Thanks Anon! I actually did send them an email about it last night through the website and they wrote back today to say they were thrilled to forward it onto the manager(s). That girl deserves a bonus! Of course I shop at Anthro because of all the beautiful clothes but an SA can make it or break it and she definitely made my year! I'm still smiling about it.

Lilia- I bought them both in a size Med online via my wishlist. They show both sold out now though. I would call customer service and see about stock or finding in stores! normally, after midnight PST is the best time to check wishlists and place orders! good luck

Thanks Robin! It IS a great skirt! I actually bought the fluttering pencil skirt in a 2 when it first came out (I'm NEVER a 2 on the bottom. And rarely a 4!), and it is so flattering and professional. But the wool doesn't work so well in Houston, well…March – October. So 2 weeks ago I saw this version and snatched up the last one in my store, which was a 4. It's a bit big, but I think it is worth it 🙂

Anonymous at 6:43Thank ypuo much for the tip on the garnet glow dress. I got iy for $9.99 and it is on the way to me. I think the only reason it was hanging around is that it was still marked $99.99 SA was shocked when I asked her to price check! This week has been the week of amazing deals. I found a beaded bnavy Ranna Gil dress for $9.99 and the gorgeous blue dress with pink lilies from holiday for $19.99!I returned a pair of $28 dollar tights so ended up spending $12 on three dresses.Again thanks to this community for scouting out the deals.BTW the same store Marlton, NJ had a rare bloom in navy in a small.
