I know a clothing company is doing very well when they can get me to consider items I normally wouldn’t — like Club Monaco’s Allentin Jumpsuit ($249) above and their equally beautiful Vonna Dress ($289). Inside, some of the items making me smile right now.
Today Anthropologie unveiled its June 2017 Lookbook on its website. I don’t have much to say about it really (besides *le sigh*) but there are some cute new arrivals on the site at the moment. I’ve been burned by so many new Anthro items that look great online and then are not in real life this Spring, so let’s leave my excitement level at cautiously optimistic for these. The Lottie Fluttered Tunic Dress ($138), shown above with the Asara Wrap Belt which is sold out online, looks like the kind of dress that could keep me cool all summer long. I’m also a fan of Anthro’s high-neck swing dresses like the new Chambray High-Neck Swing Dress ($128) from Cloth & Stone.
My other new Anthropologie wishlist items include pretty much everything on this page, from the Linen Swing Top ($68) to the earrings, bracelet and watch (also available here and here in pink) too; the Bretta Gathered Tank Top ($68) which makes me wish my Expanding Horizons Tank was still around and the Laced Nautique Tank ($68) that is very, very cute online! I ordered a few of these items to try a couple of weeks ago; I’m traveling at the moment but will do try-ons once I’m back home.
While I’m still glancing at Anthro and hoping for good stuff, there are other retailers being more dependable winners for me. Madewell for instance has been delivering winner after winner for me this Spring! The Small Pom-Pom Zip Pouch ($23) has been a great day bag for me, and slips right into the Canvas Transport Tote ($58) when I need something bigger. That canvas Transport by the way is a great entry point to trying the popular tote on for size and usability, at $100 less than the leather options. I’m also swooning over the Crop Swing Tank Top in Petal Plaid ($60), which seems ideal for pairing with high-rise shorts and skirts (I notice my favorite denim skirt now comes in white for instance!).
See my Madewell Spring wins on me and explore recent posts on the brand too.
Sister site J. Crew has some very cute offerings right now too, primarily among them the lovely Tiered top in merino wool ($80) which came to me in the light blue. I’m pairing it with white crops and my Piper Sunglasses ($118).
The other three shops working overtime for my happiness are Boden, Club Monaco and Lucky Brand — the last of which is making ultra-cute tops like the Hannah Embroidered Top ($90), above. I recommend waiting for their 40% off promos which seem to happen every 5-6 weeks or so. I picked up the Hannah, Printed Embroidered Flutter Top ($60) and Zoe Ruffle Tank ($80) in the last one. I took a medium in all of them. My boyfriend has also had awesome luck with the men’s clothing there and we both agree the brand has great quality for the price…especially when discounted.
Below, more of the favorites in my closet and on my wishlist. What Spring pickups have you made in the last few weeks? What’s on your wishlist right now? I’m working on a few longform features right now about outfit building that I can’t wait to share! It will take me several weeks to write them, but the ideas will start making their way into posts sooner….
I have also been eyeing that merino tank at J Crew, but I'm wondering if it will be too warm when it gets really hot out? I really like it in the black and green.
I also bought and tried the tiered peasant dress from Anthro, and it's going back. it's completely sheer, so it would need a layer under it, and it has a very, very high waist, that is also tight. Might make a cute beach cover up, but for that price you could do better (Although I guess I'm in the minority ion that thought as it's completely sold out).
I'm actually done with summer shopping except for a few odds and ends. I have so much from last year, and have already done enough buying for this year.
As far as wishlists go, Free People is churning out my favorite stuff. I'm loving this tunic: https://www.freepeople.com/shop/marigold-tunic/ in particular.

Free People is totally getting their own post — they are rocking it big-time lately!! Now if Anthro could just figure out how to have the same success without appropriating FP's styles, we'd be talking.
I have so many spaghetti strap dresses and I need a summer top to cover my shoulders. Has anyone come across something unique, maybe with lace?

I own and adore this cardigan: http://shopstyle.it/l/Se7
But I think something like this http://shopstyle.it/l/Sih or this http://bit.ly/2qSY7Y9 is probably closer to what you're looking for. (I'd wear them unbuttoned and open like a cardigan.)
Thanks for the suggestions, Roxy! Those are cute! I love the one you have! I should mention that most of the dresses are form fitted on top and more A line on bottom. I feel like I need a fitted top. Oh, and it's hot here… so something with a cap sleeve maybe?

Hmm, well it's not cap sleeve but another option I was thinking of is an old Anthro cropped cardigan I use exactly for this purpose. It's called the Glimmer Collar Cardigan, I reviewed it here: http://effortlesslywithroxy.com/2013/01/reviews-l…
You can find them on eBay and the like. It runs tts. I'll keep looking around to see if I can find something similar in cap sleeves, and if the community has any ideas please do share here!
Tiered peasant dress already sold out? That was the cutest one on the list 🙁

With new items, they sometimes show as sold out and then come back into stock 5 or so days later — this is a stupid marketing tactic other brands *cough* J. Crew *cough* try as well. It's dumb and frustrating to customers, yet retailers still do it because I guess they think it promotes scarcity?
I love that Lord and Taylor Leather Mini Satchel!

Isn't it so cute?? It looks very similar to my little Chloe that I adore.
Yup ? and it fits into my bite sized budget. I'm trying to see if it qualifies for the F&F sale. That would be amazing!
OMG… that Havena swing top… what in G-d's name was Anthro thinking???!!! Seriously??? Unreal.

On a good note, I tried the striped luca dress and like it – it would look cute with the jcrew pumps!
