Anthro’s Sale Section is just warming up!

There was a decent sale update this week, especially considering that Black Friday is still a couple of weeks away. Most of the new additions are from early fall, including a few drool-worthy additions. I’ve picked some of the highlights but make sure you check the site! The fresh cuts have updated. Without a doubt a personal highlight is the Monochromatic Corset Dress (now $100, review here) which I’ve already worn out several times. My recommendation? Grab it! And once again ladies, please let me know if you see any second markdowns that are less expensive in-store than on the website.

From top left, moving clockwise: Fiery Tiers Dress (now $120), Texture Study Dress (now $80), Enchantment Dress (now $130), C’est Bon Dress (now $60), Harvest Sunset Dress (now $90, review here), Centifolia Corset Dress (now $100).

From top left, moving clockwise: Revere Blouse (now $40, review here), Seasonless Stripe Button-Up (now $40, review here), Mandevilla Top (now $40), Plum Flower Tunic (now $50, review here), Ruffles-Upon-Ruffles Tee (now $40, review here), Blooming Phlox Tank (now $30, review here).

From left: Pinnacle Vest (now $50)…I tried this on but never ran the review. It’s very thick, not too itchy and runs large…, Twined Branches Cardigan (now $70), Puckered & Pleated Cardigan (now $70).

From left: Eugenia Mini (now $50), Shape Template Mini (now $50), Chloe Skirt (now $50, review here), Dark & Slender Denim Skirt (now $80).

From left: Checkered, Please Jacket (now $100, review here), Woolen Flight Jacket (now $80), Piloted Bomber (now $80).

Happy hunting all! It’s hard for me to choose, several items from my wishlist made it. But I think I’ll probably end up with the Checkered, Please Jacket, the Seasonless Stripe Button-Up, and the Ruffles-Upon-Ruffles Tee. How about you?

Thanks for the heads-up! I just impulse bought the Ruffles-Upon-Ruffles tee. 🙂

I feel like a bit of a cheapskate for admitting this, but I ordered the Chloe skirt this morning. I already have it, though; I purchased it 18 days ago and never took the tags off or wore it. Since I am toolate for a price adjustment I just ordered online at the sale price (along with a few other goodies) and will return the full-price item to the store. $50 is a nice chunk of change to get back, know what I mean?

Hee hee, I totally understand Ashley. 🙂 It's at a good price now.Jacquelyn, I have done that before too. I am mostly a full price buyer but if an item I haven't worn yet or taken off the tags from goes on sale I don't feel bad about buying it at the lower price.

The 'Sweater Sleeve Coat' is now $100! Can't wait! Although the weather out here in California doesn't get too cold (high of 79 today…not too crazy about the lingering summer weather)this coat is absolutely adorable!

the puckered and pleated cardigan is AMAZING on —the mustard color is great in person!

Sharon HIGH OF 79? That is not fair! The Sweater Sleeve Coat looks very comfy, I have not tried it on though.Cherry Tree Lane I have to say I was not enamored with that cardi but I saw a woman rocking the mustard yesterday in the subway. She looked amazing and now I want it.

roxy! thank you so much for posting about this! I went on a buying rampage before I turned in my dissertation in september, and haven't worn half the stuff yet. So like jacquelyn i just reordered it all and saved a ton of $$$. Although I too feel a little cheapskate I keep telling myself it's so worth it.Sharon – I love that coat too but am making myself wait. just fyi – it runs really big. I sized down once and it was still really roomy. I liked it that way since I think that's how it's supposed to look, but keep that in mind when ordering!thanks again roxy!

Thanks for the sale info, Roxy! I just ordered the Monochromatic Corset Dress in both a 4 and a 6 (I am normally a 2-4), hopefully one of them works!Does anyone know how Plenty by Tracy Reese runs? I really like the Centifolia Corset Dress, but I am not sure what size to order. Thanks!!

I have the Centifolia dress and really love it (just bought it again on sale and will return the full-price one as well!). I feel that it runs true to size, perhaps a tad big. I am 5'3", 110-112 lb and the sz 0 is a little big on me.

Thanks for the update Roxy! I just placed an order with a store in CA for the Checkered, Please Jacket in XS. I'm so glad you did that inventory posting a while back—it's been so helpful for me when my size is unavailable online! I'm so excited to get the jacket—on sale!

HiRoxy thanks for the tips.Just bought the corset dress online. Any ideas on how to wear it other than with a black cardigan? Thanks Happy ShoppingAlso to Jacqueline I bought the leifsdottir skirt full price 158.oo. Havent worn it yet so I was lucky enough to buy the same dark denim skirt for 79.95. So i will be returning also!

Happy to hear everyone is walking away with some deals. :)ali you could wear pretty much any color cardigan with the Monochromatic Corset Dress — rich blues, reds or golds in particular would be great. If you want a dressed down look wear a turtleneck underneath it or even a crisp white button-down shirt to make it work-appropriate. Maybe that will be my next 3 ways to wear it post. 🙂

Roxy – get the Checkered Please Jacket. You won't regret it! I have been wearing mine non-stop and it's warm!Get the Moss Ruffles Upon Ruffles Tee too to wear with your Elodie Lily Cardi -that's my plan 🙂

Hi there! I love your blog especially since I started an Anthro addiction. Have you reviewed the Bracing coat or tried it on in the store? The stores near where I live dont have it and I love, love the green. But, the online reviews are scaring me from buying it!!

  16. November 17, 2009 / 8:35 pm

    thanks for the tip roxy!

Hi couchpapaya, I have not tried on the Bracing Coat but my friend Lindsay owns it…I emailed her and here's what she says:"I like the coat a lot but it is one of those polarizing items. For me it's perfect because I'm tall but very slight and it has a strong shape. The arms and bottom have a bell shall shape to them. My biggest fit issue is usually in the chest. I am a 32B and often there is too much room. This coat is tight in the chest so it works perfectly for me! It has a short waist too. The material of the coat is stiff and thick however I do not think this coat will keep you warm on the coldest days by itself. I love it and would buy it again in a second!"Hope that helps a bit.

  18. November 17, 2009 / 11:16 pm

Roxy & Lindsay, thanks for the feedback!!! I'm petite so I'm still not sure, however I think I'm leaning towards ordering it and hoping it works out 🙂

Hi Roxy…great blog. Any review or fit suggestions for the shape template mini? Did you try it on or plan to? It is so adorable both for work and play. At that price even more.

  20. November 18, 2009 / 2:09 am

couchpapaya — I hope it works out for you! Please report back if you end up buying the item. :)Anon — since the waist is elastic I was able to fit into the small Shape Template Mini no problem, but to wear it lower on my hips I'd buy my true size medium. (I found it odd they even bothered with the zipper.) It is every bit as voluminous as the product shot shows. I agree the price is hard to beat. I didn't buy it because I already bought 3 short skirts this season and probably shouldn't buy anymore. I really liked it though, and I love the idea of tucking a tank into it with a belt and cardi over it. Hope that helps!

It makes me feel so good to hear some of you say that you've returned items that you bought *just* before a price reduction! I have this problem all the time, where I see that something that I really want is disappearing fast so I buy it only to discover that it hits the sale rack the following week with a few left in my size. So far, I haven't had the guts to return something in this situation, but next time I am going to. I just ordered the Houndstooth dress, the Harvest Sunset dress and Season Strolls sweatercoat. I can't wait for them to come in the mail! Yay for free shipping 🙂
