Overall a better catalogue IMHO than the last few. However there is still something decidedly un-Anthro about it. I dunno, the clothes are just pushing the boundaries a little bit too much for me. Don't turn into Urban Outfitters for adults, Anthro. Stay true to yourself!
It's funny you say that, Roxy. I was going through some drawers yesterday and found the Holiday catalogue from 2006. There is stuff in there I would still buy today. I'm not so sure I can say that about current offerings. Perhaps this is why I have been obsessively stalking ebay for past seasons items I missed or foolishly returned?Perhaps like J.Crew and Banana Republic they had a honeymoon/glory times phase and are no win the waning part of it. Hopefully Anthro will wax again soon!
I like the trellis blouse, I definitely want to check it out in the store. I received my catalog today. I do not care for it. I want to see the clothes. It is artistic, but I am practical. Still, the purse underwater photo is cool.
I love the floating Lotus dress…Im going to buy it probably online I like it so much..
I agree with Georgine- the artsyness of the catalogs do turn me off slightly. Admittedly, one of the reasons I find myself buying so much from J. Crew is because they show their pieces in so many different ways. I just ordered the Mica Mini, which is a $150 mini skirt (ack!) but the way they have it presented both in catalog and on the website (paired with a crewneck sweater, paired with their favorite tanks, and paired with a simple v-neck tee) really showed me its versatility and sold me on it.I find myself leafing through the Anthro catalogs way too quickly and tossing them into the recycling bin. Sorry, Anthropologie- I love you, but I think you need to take your catalogs in a better direction…
I love the swimsuits in this catalog, very bathing beauty!
I did not care for the water shots (I don't like products are distorted, I want to see how it actually looks), and I miss the ridiculous product descriptions. Perhaps they laid off some people in editorial?
