It’s no secret that Fall is my favorite shopping season! I love layering, the warm color tones and all the warm, comfy pieces. Each year I look for a few trendy pieces to add to my closet. 2019 looks to be a good year for Fall trends! Right now there are some trends I’m obsessed with!! What do you think of this Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges?
Personally, I love sneaker wedges (and wedge boots too!). Living in New York City heels are a daily fact of life. While the block heel trend has been a move in the right direction, heels are generally about building pain tolerance. On the other hand, sneaker wedges are often comfy from the box and have the same leg-sculpting benefits!
Style in general is moving in a more casual direction and so the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges makes a lot of sense. Here are 5 reasons why I love sneaker wedges plus styling inspiration and my top shopping picks!
1. Why I love the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges — They’re SO comfortable!
Boots can be hit or miss. Heels are an Advil stockholder’s delight. Even sneakers can be hit or miss in their comfort level. But by and large I’ve found most pairs of sneaker wedges I’ve tried on or purchased are super comfy right out of the box!
This saves so many headaches of needing to break in shoes before I wear them out of the apartment! With sneaker wedges I don’t have to worry about being on my feet all day. I don’t have to make sure I have my Lyft app ready to page a car when my feet start to hurt. My ankle doesn’t roll when my legs get tired in sneaker wedges. Being a city dweller this is a huge deal for me!
Most sneaker wedges have a good amount of padding in them, but that’s not the only factor in their comfort level. Sneaker wedges (by and large) hold our feet at a very natural angle. This makes them feel like we’re wearing comfy slippers or something equally nice on our feet! And unlike heels, our feet have room to spread out in sneaker wedges over the day. So no swollen feet come the evening!
2. Why I love the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges — You can wear them with ANYTHING.
I own close to 40 pairs of shoes. That seems like a lot. Ok it is a lot! Still, many of my shoes are for certain occasions. I have my dressy shoes and my weekend shoes. I have my work shoes and my commuting shoes.
But with the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges, I don’t have to sort sneaker wedges into one purpose or another. Sneaker wedges work with just about any outfit! I’ve seen them styled with athleisure. I’ve seen them with jeans. I’ve seen them with dresses. For very stylish people, sneaker wedges complete a going out look well!

3. Why I love the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges — They come in a zillion different styles.
For awhile, it felt like I could only find sneaker wedges in a few select colors and styles. But no longer! Now that they are trendy, it’s much easier to find sneaker wedges in about a zillion variations. The Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges has brought high top and low top versions. There textured, printed and patterned versions. You can buy sneaker wedges in just about any color.
If you’ve tried sneaker wedges in the past and didn’t find them very comfortable I encourage you to give them another shot! Retailers have clearly worked hard to make sneaker wedges all-day wearable. They are much more padded now and many come with foam that molds to your foot shape.
For this post, I’ve focused in almost exclusively on continuous piece sneaker wedges. 4. Why I love the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges — The trend has staying power.
Few things bother me more than when I embrace a clothing or shoe trend and it’s over by the next season. What a waste of money!! However, you needn’t worry with the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges. This is a trend sure to have staying power.
How do I know? A few ways. Firstly, even though jeans and pants are starting to move into boot and flare cuts, athleisure remains an incredibly popular style and this style nearly always has skinny leg pants. Straight cut jeans are growing in popularity too, and sneaker wedges look great with them! Leggings aren’t going anywhere either. So even if skinny jeans fall out of favor, you’ll still be able to rock sneaker wedges for years to come.
5. Why I love the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges — they are a year-round style!
As much as I love the wedge boot trend, you can’t really wear wedge boots in the Summer. At least not here in NYC. But the Fall 2019 trend: sneaker wedges are made to be worn year-round! They tend to be so much more breathable than boots so there’s no stank foot issue.
Sneaker wedges also look great with any bottom! Shorts? Yes! Jeans? You betcha! Dresses? It can be done! So year-round my feet are comfy while my legs look great thanks to sneaker wedges’ naturally toning angle.

I don't think I've ever tried sneaker wedges but I think you have convinced me to try. I'm not tall at all and I always wanted to add some height to a casual outfit and wearing heels always makes an outfit look dressy. And that fact that these are comfortable, I'm sold!
