Merry Christmas! I hope your 25th is going well so far! We are spending the holidays with Alex’s family (it’s so much easier being from two different religious backgrounds) as we always do. This year instead of going out to Sag Harbor as we usually do we’re in NYC because any day now, Alex’s brother and our sister-in-law are going to have a baby! We are so excited to become an Aunt and Uncle!!
The 25th holds special meaning for us as a couple too — one year ago today we got engaged! (My Wedding Wednesdays series will start in two weeks.) It’s strange how the time has flown since then, yet it feels like a long time ago too. We purposely chose to have a long engagement but now the excitement is growing for our wedding in August 2019.
But back to Christmas, which has already featured one heck of a Christmas Eve meal prepared by Alex’s mom Anne and a game I’d never heard of but loved playing called What Do You Meme? This game, much like Cards Against Humanity which we’d played the last three years, is especially hilarious when played with people one or two generations older than you! Not surprisingly, my 20-something pop culture savvy cousin Lily and I tied for the win last night with round 2 to come tonight.

Thank you amles!! We had so much fun that night, this was the best seat in the house at a local Italian restaurant. We don't normally do Italian but it was so good. Our waiter was so cute, he said he put us in that spot to let the cute couple draw more people in. 😉 And the chef gave us limoncello with dessert which was amazing.
