This outfit post about the seasons of transformation is sponsored by Nordstrom at The Westchester. Although some of the clothing I’m wearing was provided by Nordstrom, all opinions are as always my own! Please read this blog’s disclosure post for more info.
For just a few days the weather in New York City was perfect last week. Not too hot. Not too cold. A bit of bite in the air. Chilly enough for a jacket but warm enough for a mini skirt. Because these days are increasingly rare year to year, I truly try to enjoy them to their fullest! The crispness of early Fall had me thinking back to Spring, when these outfit photos were taken. Four months and forty pounds ago! Hard to believe. When I look at these photos I feel love for the girl I was, and the girl I am becoming. (Health and fitness catchup to come in November.)
To say that 2018 has had seasons of transformation is an understatement. I’m planning my wedding for Summer 2019. Slowly I am closing the book on my Dad’s life, moving Mom into her new place and saying goodbye to my childhood home. My career is reaching new heights. I’ve taken better care of myself this year; I’ve been totally strung out at other times. There have been days when my heart has been so full it could burst. There have been days where I fell into the deepest despair wondering how my heart could still be beating when I’ve felt so sad.
Through it all, I’ve returned time and time again to clothing as my fun escape. I love putting together outfits and talking shopping here! Clothing and shopping are without a doubt my most fun (and expensive! and expansive!) habits. These photos, taken in early Spring of this year in Central Park’s gorgeous Conservatory Garden, were just a hint of the seasons of transformation to come.
Now that it’s Fall and the chill is back I’m wearing this outfit again for date night, or the longer version of the skirt for the office. Whenever I’m stumped on how to piece together a great look, the team at Nordstrom The Westchester is there for me! I absolutely love Nordstrom’s styling services. Since Nordstrom has so many brands I love, it’s easy to tell them what kind of clothing I like and then let them loose to create new styling ideas for me.
Even when I can’t get to the store, the stylist team at Nordstrom The Westchester can work with me via email! I can’t say enough great things about them. I’m very excited to share more of the looks we’ve put together soon. As Fall continues to transform the world, Nordstrom helps me with my seasons of transformation. If you want some immediate Nordstrom inspiration, check out my picks from their latest markdowns. And stay tuned for the best new stuff at Nordstrom in a new post coming soon.
The trees are once again yellow, green, and brilliant reds. The seasons of transformation continue outside in nature and inside my body and heart. What kind of transformations have you experienced this year?
Nice post and these pictures of you at the Conservatory are so lovely Roxy, very nice! The flowers around there are gorgeous, such a beautiful place to take some snaps of your cute outfit.

Thank you Jess! I had forgotten about it because I don't go that far North anymore, but then Deniz had some beautiful outfit shots there and I felt inspired! https://www.instagram.com/_denizgurbuz_/

I am seriously considering getting the cami in a third color (white). I love it so much! And it layers well over so many things.

It's not easy having a parent move, that's for sure. Or I guess it can be easy but it hasn't been in my case. And yes on a more shopping-related note Nordstrom is amazing!! I love the Westchester store very much.
Love the conservatory garden. Such a beautiful place! Nordstrom is always my go-to also – love that they have so many of my favorite brands all in one place.

Thank you so much Megan!
Since going to Westchester on your shopping day, I have stopped a few times on my way to/from daughter's college. That mall has a great Nordstrom! The ones near me are not as nice in my opinion (and that mall is really less than an hour away)

I love that Shari! They've asked if I want to do another shopping day, and as soon as my schedule opens a bit I want to plan one!
Roxy I relate to this post. I've had a tough year too. When I'm stressed I go in the opposite direction of you, I am barely hungry and drop weight until I am skin and bones. But I completely understand what the stress does to our bodies. You look lovely here and I am excited to see your transformation. Even though we are different heights and sizes your outfits resonate with me. I've loved your blog for years and I'm glad you're still at it.

Thank you harper. It's good to know that I am not alone in this! And it's nice having longtime readers come out of the woodwork to say hi. 🙂
How cool is it to look at how far you've come? Whether that's with a personal change, work progression, etc. – it's always encouraging!
