OOTD: Wind-Rippled Tee Time

2010-11-15_008

Who’s afraid of bright colors? Not me! So what if most other New Yorkers are wearing grey, black and more black this time of year? I relish the chance to break out my pumpkin peacoat each Fall. If you’re not glowing, you’re not trying.

Something about Fall must have reminded everyone about the Wind-Rippled Tee, as I’ve seen it in tons of OOTDs recently! Everyone seems to be showcasing a different color. Without a doubt it’s one of my favorite Anthro tops of all time, though it took me a little while to warm up to it. Also I have to admit that the top makes me sweat. A lot. It’s not very breathable.

I paired the tee with my Silk Indigo Skirt from J.Crew. I grabbed it on sale late last winter and I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for it. Within two wears the bottom seam had fallen apart — it wasn’t sewn very well. I had to repair it myself. I was a little worried about running the silk through my sewing machine so I hand-sewed the seam back into place. So annoying. The copper tones within the skirt work well with my shoes. I love their retro look!

Thanks to everyone who has sent me photo-taking tips. You won’t see the results of your advice for another week or so as I have some more outfits queued up. But I greatly appreciate the tips and can’t wait to show off my next location!
