Spotted for Less: Polka Dot Skirt option

I can’t stop using the shot above! I am just in love with it even though I am not quite sold on Leifsdottir’s Coming & Going Skirt ($198, review here). Leifsdottir also makes a blue version of the skirt called the Acadiana Ruffle Skirt ($198). While at H&M earlier today I found a very similar version for $35.

Here we have the Leifsdottir vesion on the left, me in the H&M knockoff in the center and the H&M tag on the right. Apologies for the low lighting; the 5th Ave H&M at 53rd St has ridiculously dark fitting rooms. I realize the skirt isn’t completely the same…the H&M version is navy instead of medium blue; has two kinds of polka dot patterns instead of one; and the ruffles are concentrated at the top of the skirt. But for over $160 less it’s a fantastic option.

I tried on the 10 but would need to buy a 12 at H&M. The hem of the skirt is a bit tapered. Just wanted to put this out there for anyone looking for a ruffled polka dot skirt for the warmer weather! For more looks for less, check out J’s fantastic The Look for Less blog, and Chloe’s fantastic Spy It, Buy It series on her See Chloe Shop blog. I’m headed back out to enjoy the nice weather…another post will be up tonight. Here are some photos I took earlier today in Central Park. Enjoy!

I saw that H&M skirt this past week also and thought of the Leifsdottir skirt. I didn't try it on because I didn't think the ruffles would look good on me. It looks good on you.The pictures are gorgeous! I need to go back for a longer visit. I've been 2 times and maybe 2 days each.BTW, off subject, but I thought I would ask the Anthro Queen. Do you know if Anthro ever sold a Leifsdottir silk skirt with planets printed all over it? Bought it this past week, but never saw it before. I googled it and it only showed someone saved it as a favorite on stylehive.com from Bloomingdales 6 months ago. Would Anthro take a return from Bloomies and resell it? Sorry for asking here. If inappropriate, I will delete.

Anon – thanks! I hope you get to visit NYC too. It's a wonderful place to be. :)Gemma – hmm, I have to admit I'm not as familiar with Leifsdottir's back products. A lot of times the tags will have a merchant ID number so stores usually won't take each other's returns. I'm a little confused, did you buy the skirt at Anthro?MsHark – agreed, though lately less and less for me. I guess I am just not enjoying this 90s revival going on. It's too soon for me! a7ice – That is such a cute skirt! I only wish I had the gams to pull it off.Merula – aw, ok, now I'm blushing.
