Anthropologie: the social networking experience

I use Google Analytics to track visits to this blog, and recently I have been noticing visits coming from something called “Supergroups.” As much as I was hoping this was something related to superheroes, it turns out it’s where our Anthropologiette kin hang out. The member posts area hasn’t been too active recently from the looks of it, but people must be visiting the page if I’m seeing traffic from it. You can join through your Facebook, MySpace or Bebo account.

And then on Facebook itself Anthropologie of course has a fan page. (And I am of course one of the fans.) There is no wall on the page which is kind of sad, and my friends remarked that both the Facebook fan page and the Supergroup page didn’t seem very active. My guess is this is because most people would be posting discount codes, sales, etc. And since Anthropologie doesn’t really release codes of any kind the social experience of sharing that awesome deal you just got plain doesn’t exist.

Are you an Anthropologie fan? Or part of their Supergroup?

Thanks for the tip; I would have never known about this. I will join the sites (kicking and screaming but there you have it).

Ooh, I became a fan (wish the page was more active though too!). I couldn't stomach joining supergroups, but I really liked the storefront display photo album…

FYI: the anthropologie facebook fan page is not run by anthropologie so I would not have high expectations of it.
