Here’s a trend I admit I don’t get: boots that have shoes as their bases. Case in point: Anthropologie’s Tagalong Boots (now $200). I just can’t wrap my head around this trend. And Anthro is far from the only store carrying these.
Behold the Puma Ferro Boots ($375) which make me disappointed that the name “Ugg” was already taken. I don’t even know what to say to these — I saw someone on the subway wearing them, and she pulled them off well. But I couldn’t get over the fact that they were sneakers that were also boots.
Even Skechers is getting in on the act with their Compulsions ($80) which at least look more like just a boot than the boots of Frankenstein. Maybe I’m the only one who doesn’t get this though. After all, I am also not a fan of vests with shirts sewn under them. Or tees with tank layers sewn in. I guess I just like the freedom to pair things up how I want.
Those boots are gross!
So ugly!
