Reviews: Rise-And-Shine Blouse and Falling Ribbon Cardigan

At this point I’m pretty determined to recreate the outfit above. I went to Anthropologie with the express goal of finding each of the components…unfortunately I was only 1 for 6. Luckily the visual team had some other styling suggestions for me. On one of their dressforms they showed the Falling Ribbon Cardigan ($98) layered over the Soft Drapes Blouse ($88, review here) in orange. Since I’ve already reviewed that top I looked for a similarly-colored top to pair under the cardi instead.

Success! Odille’s Rise-And-Shine Blouse ($88) fits the bill. The placket features double-sided tuxedo ruffles that I find a bit clownlike. I really like the tiny buttons, which have flowers on them and are a dark, brassy color. The shirt also has swiss dots all over. I found the fit of my true size 6 to be perfect and the sleeves weren’t too tight. One orange blouse is enough for me though so I did not buy this top.

I did however try it under the Falling Ribbon Cardigan ($98). I tried on the cardigan twice, once in a medium (left 2 photos above) and later in a large (right 2 photos above). Sparrow’s cardigan is pretty short, hitting me just above my natural waist. I had such a hard time undoing the buttons. The button holes on the cardigan are far too small in my opinion. The top button had a pretty gold line through it to mirror the ribbon effect on the cardigan. The quality of the sweater seemed good. No loose stitches and the ribbon was affixed well.

The medium looked too stretched when I closed it, hence the open shots. This is also to show that the orange/navy combination worked quite well! I didn’t like how the cardigan looked completely open, but I like how Anthropologie’s product shot shows it with the top button buttoned. Just beware your poor fingers. I was able to wear the large completely buttoned comfortably as you see in two shots on the right. I like this cardigan and will probably snap it up on sale if it lasts that long.

For anyone interested, I’ve seen Odille’s Dewpoint Blouse ($68, review here) back in stores. In addition to the previously available light grey and green it’s now available in a lovely deep purple! Love it. Want it.

Oh holiday wish list time! Beautiful choices Anon. I tried on the Carmen Tieback today and will be running a review later this week… it's really beautiful. You're correct that the Odille top is labeled red. Personally I found it to be closer to orange, but I appreciate the clarification. 🙂 AL – OK, adding it to the list!

Roxy, I can't wait read up your reviews on Carmen Tieback. Yay!OH- if that Odille top is orangish, I am dropping it off my list. I'd prefer real red pieces. Any recommendations for a good red cardi (doesn't have to be anthro)?Thank you.(anon above)
