Just grabbed up a Skyfall dress. I don't typically wear an 8, but they were out of size 6. Hope hope hope it works! Also picked up the Sun Cloud Sky necklace. I've been eyeing this for awhile! Thanks for the post Roxy!

  2. February 2, 2010 / 12:35 pm

The two items I've been waiting for went on sale! The Eltham crops and the Rushing Brook skirt. Thank you so much for the link!

Wow, I wonder why the Best in Show blouse is on sale so soon?!

  4. February 2, 2010 / 12:50 pm

Katie the Skyfall Dress is on my grab list for today as well. I hope the 8 works for you.Desert Flower – so glad to hear it!! Anon – I guess it wasn't selling as well as Anthro had hoped? I noticed a couple of other early additions to sale, such as the Pins & Polka Dress.

I picked up the Pins & Polkas Dress; the New Academia Skirt; the Best in Show blouse (saw a bunch of these on ebay this weekend for the sale price…?); and the Sign Here and Art Deco tights. That's it! I need to step away from Anthropologie, spending too much lately although the dress and Best in Show I justified as I can wear those in the spring/summer months.

  6. February 2, 2010 / 12:57 pm

Your bi-weekly sales bulletin: the Tempting Trellis Cardigan is STILL not on sale. However, if you can find it the Dewpoint Blouse style #913410 IS on sale for $40.

  7. February 2, 2010 / 1:22 pm

Roxy, do you think the Prairie Rose Cardi will go on sale anytime soon? It's been around, like, forever!:) Ok, but at least since September, right? I know it's not online anymore, but I've noticed it's still around in stores.

  8. February 2, 2010 / 1:23 pm

does anyone know how much the reverie top is in stores now?

  9. Lila
    February 2, 2010 / 1:26 pm

I am really bewildered at Anthro's sale process. Items that have been languishing both online and on store shelves since September are still full price while items that were released a month ago are on sale?

  10. February 2, 2010 / 1:30 pm

Oh no! Anthro, why must you do this to me! I was trying so hard to be good (…or, at least, not heinously reckless) with my shopping this month. Oh well. February is a short month; here's to a more fiscally responsible March :)Hope everyone else is scoring some fun sale loot!-Jen

  11. February 2, 2010 / 1:36 pm

Jennifer – nice haul!Autumn – I'm not sure. I know they recently restocked it in stores and it seems to be selling well, so I doubt it. Crazy as that is.Naomi's mom – If I see the Reverie Top in-store I'll let you know what the price is.Lila – It is a bit of a mystery, isn't it??Jen – Ha, I understand! Some of these winter sale items are so spring-appropriate, I feel like I'm doing my seasonal shopping. Makes the sale more palatable.

  12. February 2, 2010 / 1:47 pm

Anyone see the snowscape on a second markdown in stores?

  13. February 2, 2010 / 1:48 pm

hmm… lots of stuff on sale but nothing tempting enough to pay shipping for. as part of my "budget watching" (hah, yeah right) i'm trying to do only in-store purchases for awhile. i have way more control this way and then don't end up keeping stuff i ordered online and only kind of like. plus, then i get to try on new arrivals to stalk for later sales… vicious cycle! 🙂

  14. February 2, 2010 / 1:49 pm

Thanks Roxy ! You're the best !I got myself a Skyfall dress in size 6 through CS, and crossing my fingers that it won't be cancelled.

  15. February 2, 2010 / 2:14 pm

Katie,I own Felted Lai cardigan as the picture shown. I'm thinking about pair the dress with faded jean jacket and short cowboy boots, since it's only a month away before rodeo season here in TX :)But would love to see how Roxy will style this dress.

  17. February 2, 2010 / 3:26 pm

darn! i just missed out on the Maeshowe Shirtdress in size 8. if you see one, please let me know. i've been waiting so patiently for it.thankssklee2002@gmail.com

    February 2, 2010 / 3:29 pm

Roxy, Thanks for this. Since you've been tracking anthro for so long, do you have an idea as to what percentage of items go on sale? There are a lot of items that I'm in love with right now and I'm trying to figure out if I should be patient and wait or take the plunge now.

  19. February 2, 2010 / 3:36 pm

Hi Kim G, it's not really an exact science but I will try to help. Items are eligible to go on sale 45 days after Anthro first receives inventory. However it's usually a lot longer than that — closer to 90 days and beyond. They seem to base their cuts on a number of factors: sales so far, inventory left/coming, time on the floor/website and seasonality. When I myself am debating on an item, I ask myself this: if the item sold out today, how much would I miss it? I buy the item if I am really in love with it and would miss it.

  20. February 2, 2010 / 3:37 pm

Percentagewise, seems like about 15% of items go on sale in a really good week. Most weeks though it's more like 5%.

  21. February 2, 2010 / 3:38 pm

Naomi's Mom, I got my Reverie Tank in store a week ago for $49.95. HTH!Nothing I was stalking got reduced – that's probably good for my wallet though!

  22. February 2, 2010 / 4:16 pm

Hi Ladies,If you see a Hydrangea Flurry Vest in an xs, will you please, please, please let me know? I know I said my budget is gone, but I really want this thing.Thanks!lazymountain@gmail.com

  23. February 2, 2010 / 4:23 pm

I would also love to find a hydrangea flurry vest in a size small or medium. Thanks!needabiggercloset@gmail.com

    February 2, 2010 / 4:24 pm

Roxy, so glad I read your post from yesterday, as it reminded me to get up early today and check the sale. I was able to pick up the Dewpoint blouse in purple, which has been on my wishlist forever (by the skin of my teeth – I also had the gray color in my cart, but while I was browsing it went out of stock!). I also got the Fire Flowers dress and the From O'Keefe necklace.I've been waiting (and waiting) for the Cooling cardi to go on sale. It's a super lightweight piece that doesn't exactly scream "winter" so I'm perplexed as to why it's never gone on sale. I have it in blue and love it – would totally pick up a couple of the colors if it went on sale.

  25. February 2, 2010 / 4:26 pm

Tien – I just ordered an XS from the NYC store (on 16th and 5th) – it sounded like they had a few more in stock, if you are interested. If you aren't able to get your hands on one, I'll let you know if the one I ordered doesn't work out 🙂

  26. February 2, 2010 / 4:31 pm

Blondmoma–I just got mine from Soho store! They tried to charge me shipping, but I just said, well, I usually don't get charge shipping when it's solout online and it's not at my store. She said she would waive the shipping.Call them at 212-343-7070

  27. February 2, 2010 / 4:32 pm

Thanks Tien! Does it run true to size? I am between a small and medium.

  28. February 2, 2010 / 4:34 pm

Katie and Roxy, I have the Skyfall dress (at a price adjustment after today)and I love it with the Shimmering Pin-Up Cardigan! For some reason I like the two of these items with the Blooming Trio Belt too. But the dress goes well with so many different things that it is not hard to style. Definately pick it up if you can!I had the Blooms Revealed Cardigan ordered today… but it was cancelled. Sigh. I got the Either Or jacket though. And the For Flora skirt, so I can comfort myself with that. 🙂 Thanks for this post, Roxy.

  29. February 2, 2010 / 4:35 pm

I've never been able to try it on because I have never seen one smaller than a medium. Roxy tried it on, and I believe she said it was fitted on her. I plan on wearing mine as a sleeveless blouse with a cami underneath, so I would prefer more fitted rather than loose.Anyone else?

  30. February 2, 2010 / 4:59 pm

Whoa, tons of sales! I will have to sit down and take a few hours to look through this list one by one!

The Hydrangea Flurry Vest fit me TTS but it is fitted. You may want to size up if you plan to wear thick layers under it.Just want to give a shoutout to the Soho Anthropologie, awesome as always. 🙂 Held my Skyfall Dress for a few hours for me. And for those who might be interested to know…they were filming a "Gossip Girl" scene just up W. Broadway. They film all the time in Soho…just moved up to Spring St as I was walking back to work.

FYI – For anyone still looking for the Cascading Foliage Dress, there's one size 4 hidden on Anthro's website. The style #933161. It's on sale for just $19.95.Good luck!Emma

Anon @ 12:02 I do not see the Horizon Line Dress going on sale anytime soon unfortunately. It's sold very well.

  38. February 2, 2010 / 5:51 pm

I have been waiting for four months for the Bubbling Up Sweater to go on sale. I called CS this morning and alas all stores are sold out of size XS. Any second cuts?

  40. February 2, 2010 / 6:04 pm

Anon at 12:46 — if you miss that dress or it's not your size, keep checking! I was able to get a size 0 for my sister at the $20 price last week, and she couldn't be happier! I've definitely seen a few in various sizes pop up, and my order went through. =))))

  41. February 2, 2010 / 6:05 pm

Angie, sorry the Skyfall sold out so quickly! Like I mentioned, I am not 100% sure the 8 will work for me. If I need to return it, I'll post a note here first. Thanks for the suggestion Ady! I will have to try the shimmering pin-up cardi or find something similar.

  42. February 2, 2010 / 6:07 pm

Just got the Dewpoint Blouse from the Geneva Store in Chicago! I called 2 other stores, State Street in Chicago and 5th Ave in NY and both wanted to charge me shipping. Luckily this store said they would waive it.

  43. February 2, 2010 / 6:09 pm

Ahhh! These awesome sales just before payday are killing me. I saw the Skyfall dress and the Maeshowe Shirtdress go on sale last night and I knew they were going to sell out online before I could nab them. I'll just have to try a store search (and cross my fingers!) come the 7th.

  44. February 2, 2010 / 6:12 pm

Emma, thank you for info re: cascading Foliage Dress. I snatched it up (can't pass it for $19.95 …LOL) online and hopeful that it won't get canceled. Thank you.I went to Antho @ Citi center, Houston at my lunch break. (713) 973-0561.It has Hydrangea Flurry Vest in XS to L, Skyfall dress in 2,4,6, and many more in the sale rack in the back.

  45. February 2, 2010 / 6:17 pm

Ladies, thank you all SO MUCH for sharing your in-store reports/CS successes and travails. It is so very helpful to hear everyone's experience, and I love all the tips we're sharing too.I will be going to 5th Ave or Soho after work, so I'll report on what I see later tonight.

  46. February 2, 2010 / 6:33 pm

Hi Anon at 7:44–The Best in Show Blouse has been in stores for a while. I know it appeared online recently, but I've seen in stores since November.

  47. February 2, 2010 / 6:37 pm

Hi Ladies,I just thought I'd let you know that the Lolland Sweater Dress (from the first two pages of the October catalog) also went on sale today. I know this because I had it on my wishlist – it has been sold out online for a while. This makes me think that, if they bothered marking it down, there are probably some left in stores. If any of you have been vying for that dress, I'd recommend calling CS to track one down. Here is the info:style #: 930107price: $89.95 (was $188)

  48. February 2, 2010 / 6:42 pm

I've seen a couple of the Lolland Sweater Dresses at the SF store a couple of weeks ago, but didn't see them on Sunday, when I was there last. It could have been they disappeared to the magic "back room" where things go and wait to be restocked on put on sale.Never hurts to try if you want it, 415-434-2210. Unfortunately, I don't remember the sizes, but I do remember they DO NOT have xs.

  49. February 2, 2010 / 6:44 pm

Also, does anyone know how petites compare with regular sizes? For example, if I'm interested in buying a skirt, do the numbers for regular and petite correspond to the same waist size (but just a shorter length on the petite)? Here's why I ask:I don't normally wear a petite, but I really want a Bow Tie Mini and my choices are size 8 regular or 6P. I tried on a 4 in the store last month, which seemed to fit pretty well, so I'm worried that the 8 would be too large. I'm not much taller than the height cutoff for petites (I'm between 5'5" and 5'6") so I was wondering if a 6P could work.

  50. February 2, 2010 / 6:46 pm

Yay I was able to get the Skyfall dress from the Don Mills store in Toronto. Wasn't at the actual store but over the phone it sounded like they had quite a few. 461-449-6666

  51. February 2, 2010 / 6:55 pm

Lola–I find petite sizes generally run about a half inch smaller all around. So a 4p would be slightly smaller than a 4.Ad for length, I think it depends on your preference. I prefer hemlines at or below the knee, so I rarely ever buy petites in skirts. I'm 5'3".

  52. February 2, 2010 / 6:59 pm

Lola, I'd guess that with the mini, a P might be too short if you want it work-appropriate. I'm 5'3, and I would have gotten the regular size for the length since I must be able to wear my Anthro purchases to work to justify them. The waist size may be a little smaller, but I'd guess that the major difference would be length.Alas, no bow tied mini for me, as I need a 0 and couldn't go up any higher than a 2. =(( It's been so long that I might be over that skirt, tho. Right now I desperately want the Around the World dress, so I'm trying to stay strong and think of that!

Did anyone see the All-Nighter dress still in the stores??

  54. February 2, 2010 / 7:02 pm

Also, I INSANELY (this is waaay out of my budget for a grad student) purchased the lolland dress last winter at full price, and even though I probably should regret it, I don't, not one bit. It's hands down my favorite dress, and I love everything about it. I lusted after it for months, and it was everything I'd hoped in person. I highly recommend it if you can find one!! I know they've popped up on my wislist from time to time, so check online frequently if you really want it!

  55. February 2, 2010 / 7:17 pm

saw the amarena sweater dress marked down in stores to 49.95

  56. February 2, 2010 / 7:22 pm

  57. February 2, 2010 / 7:24 pm

Does anyone know how the Maeshowe Dress fits? It looks like it's quite roomy – but I could be wrong. Would you recommend sizing down or getting my true size? It's by Moulinette Soeurers and I own the Color Drenched Dress by her. Does it fit as losely as the Color Drenched dress? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!! 🙂

  58. February 2, 2010 / 7:26 pm

The Skyfall dress is sold out online, but I just returned a 12 to the Carlsbad, CA store a couple days ago so if you're looking for that size and you're in the area you might give them a call!

  60. February 2, 2010 / 7:45 pm

Blondmoma, I just saw the Snowscape tank on second cut in Pal Alto, CA for $49.95, they had several! I called all over and found a pink Cloud Cover cardi in Houston, they had a few grey in my store but no pink. So excited that it went on sale in time for spring!

Lola — I have the Bowtied Mini. I'm 5'2 and got the regular size 2. I also tried on the 2P when I couldn't find the regular size 2 and actually found it too short even for my petite frame. My store in Reston, VA had a few Bowtied Mini. I didn't look at the sizes, but you might want to give them a call. 703-707-9866

Is snowscape the corey lynn calter hammered silk top with fancy flowers? It finally got a second mardown to $39.99! Austin anthro had a 0, 2, 6, and one 12 (I bought the other one)

  63. February 2, 2010 / 8:08 pm

Crew Girl in Canada, I have the Maeshow shirtdress. I found that it does fit loosely. It fit more loosely on the top than on the bottom though. I do not have the Color Drenched Dress to compare, but I would stay at your true size if you have hips or else it could end up being a little too tight. I actually like the looser feel to this dress though. It gives it more of a "gypsy" type vibe. Hope that helps!

  64. February 2, 2010 / 8:26 pm

Darn Felted Lei not going on sale. GGGGRRRRR………

  65. February 2, 2010 / 8:37 pm

I didn't buy any stuff on sale today but I did walk out the store with the Pessinus Garden Necklace. I'm too easily influenced!

  66. February 2, 2010 / 8:39 pm

Thanks for the heads-up on the snowscape! I have one being shipped to me and I will be returning my unworn $79 dollar one this weekend!! Yipee!

  67. February 2, 2010 / 8:52 pm

Lola – petites are normally 1 number size up (i.e. – if you would get a 2 normally, then you would probably fit into a 4P). It's also cut a little shorter. I'd imagine if you are normally a 4 then a 6P would work for you 🙂

  68. February 2, 2010 / 8:55 pm

I got the Meet & Greet Henley. Am I the only one who thinks this top is cute???? I couldn't afford to get anything else but really wanted so many other things that I was sitting up at 2:00 AM trying to figure out how to rob Peter to Pay Anthro.. Thank god they don't accept paypal because I have buyer credit and would be in giant debt trouble!!

  69. February 2, 2010 / 8:56 pm

Second cut on the Amarena dress to $49.95. Both San Diego stores had all three colors in a variety of sizes. The La Jolla/UTC store also had the stormy seas necklace in tangerine, ivory, and gray.

I'm sitting this one out but I have the Maeshow dress and love it. Great purchase if you can find one.sugarandspiceandnice.blogspot.com

I just spent half a month's rent at the 5th Ave shop. :But I got Idra's leather motocross jacket for $129.95(!!!), the Odille Ad Infinitum blouse (full price but I just couldn't resist), C+R Wrapped in Ruffles jacket, the Bailey 44 Here and Now top (also full-price and irresistable), Sanctuary's Strewn Leaves blouse (again, full price) and Isabella Sinclair's white button-down with the peach sash. Ugh – and I have a shopping bag full on anthro.com.5th Ave was a bit mad even at 11 am. I went in for the jewelry but there wasn't much to choose from.

  72. February 2, 2010 / 9:37 pm

I have a question – do the "one size fits all" tights really fit all? I'm 5'11" and the "Made in Japan (where everyone is a foot shorter than you, dear)" sticker really makes me question the validity of that claim…

  73. February 2, 2010 / 9:49 pm

Can't believe how big the sale is, and that the Best in Show blouse is already in the sale section! I remember trying it on right before Christmas and wistfully thinking that it would sell out long before it went on sale. Just walked down to Anthro at lunch and scored it in my size! If anyone else is interested, the Portland Pearl store had a ton of them left in many sizes.

  74. February 2, 2010 / 10:11 pm

Thanks Lauren, Diem, Katie and Tien! After reading your responses, I decided to take my chances with the 6P in the Bow Tied Mini, thinking that perhaps I could wear it slightly lower on my hips (rather than at my waist) to make up for the length issues.

  75. February 2, 2010 / 10:12 pm

Has anyone seen the crimpled cardigan in purple in S or XS in their store? It's sold out online.

I really really wasn't going to shop today I was ready to pass on the Skyfall dress I wanted until I saw the Best In Show Blouse on sale which I couldn't believe!!! so I couldn't pass that up so I ended up ordering the dress through CS, the Best in show blouse and then I was like since I'm already spending might as well pick up the Jana Herringbone Trousers in dark grey since it had sold out online in my size lol. Did you get anything today Rozy?

  77. February 2, 2010 / 10:35 pm

i think the maeshow dress runs big. usually i am an 6-8, and i wore a four in this. i am5'6 126 lb and c chest if that helps for comparison. if you are smaller chested u could size down

Patti — where did the Small Package Cardi get a markdown?

  82. February 2, 2010 / 11:56 pm

Small packages cardi is still full price on the website–does anyone know if it's actually been marked down? I'm still within range for a price reduction, if so, so do share! Winner – The "one size" tights definitely do not fit all. The only pair that have been long enough for me, at 5'8" were the soft architecture tights. The others all took a fair bit of stretching and still sort of…require lots of hitching-up during the course of the day. What do ya'll think are the odds of the From Monet skirt going on sale soon? I love it, but just can't justify that much for a mini.

  83. February 3, 2010 / 12:09 am

I'm also curious about this potential Small Packages Cardi price reduction… I'm still just barely within the 2 week timeframe for a price adjustment. If anyone else can confirm this, please post!

Thanks a bunch Ecce – figured that was too good to be true!

  85. February 3, 2010 / 12:24 am

I just got back from the Bridgeport, OR store. They have several Skyfall dresses in 6, 8, and 10. I hope someone claims these!

I saw the Unexpected Treasures Cardi in a small in at the Tucson, AZ store that was marked down a second time. It was either 19.99 or 29.99, I can't remember which one. I also saw the Soft Drapes Blouse (navy) in a size 4, 10 and something else marked down to 19.99.

  95. February 3, 2010 / 1:07 am

Oh NO! What a mess I've caused!! I got the names wrong – the UNEXPECTED TREASURES cardi got a 2nd markdown to $30 – the pink/coral one with the felt squares and brassy hardware.I'm SO, SO SORRY for the confusion 🙁

  96. February 3, 2010 / 1:13 am

Reposting other 2nd cuts I noticed:Snowscape Tank: $40Flowing Pointelle Cardi: $30Unknown name – sleeveless floral top by Porridge, predominately grey and aqua, white background: $10 (my store still had lots)

I just stumbled across your blog and I love it! I recently started a fashion blog and am discovering this whole new world of fashion blogging. It's great! Keep up the good work. I hope you will stop by my blog as well. I will be back!

All I managed to snag on sale from my wishlist were the Art Deco Tights and Initial Pocket Mirror. I am guessing at this point that nothing from fall/ winter is ever going on sale anytime soon.

I just did my first ever store purchase since the dress I wanted was sold out online and in my local store. Question for anyone who has done this: if a store ships to you, do they use USPS or UPS? The employee also didn't tell me if she was going to charge me shipping, so we'll see if I get charged or not. My order was $79.95. If I do get charged, what will it be? Would it be relative to the chart online, so $10.95 for shipping? I hope not. Thanks!

The Austin store had a bunch of the navy blue Yoana Baraschi pinstriped ruffle-neck blouses (I forget the name, sorry!) marked down to 19.99. Also every color and most sizes of the Amarena sweater dress.

If anyone is still looking for a snowscape tank, I saw a bazillion of them at the anthro in roseville, ca today. They also had 2 laced dots sweaters – size L (both), simply lovely sweater dress – size M, a couple of bowtie minis – nothing larger than a 10, a winged victory top – size 12, and a wavelet blouse — size 10 (I think). And that's all I can recall at the moment.here's there number : (916) 789-9100

Was at Soho anthro today. It looks like the striped pursuit top is heading towards a markdown (was 90 from 98). Also, a lot of the items (ie snowscape tank) which had second cuts elsewhere didnt have them in my store? If I ask nicely would they give me the reduced price?

  113. February 4, 2010 / 2:12 am

Wow, the Snowscape wasn't marked down at Soho? That seems odd — they can probably look it up in the system to get you the 2nd cut.

sometimes a store might miss a markdown on the ticket, but it will ring up the correct price. definitely ask!
