Getting all up in my bib-ness

Some days I have trouble choosing between an embellished top and a statement necklace. And Anthropologie isn’t making that choice any easier with all their big fancy-schmancy necklaces. The homepage currently points to a bib necklace landing page filled with large-scale adornments.

The Flora Shapes Necklace ($48, above) has a vintage charm to it and the Stormy Sea Necklace ($48) doubles as a weapon in case of emergency (just take it off and swing it at the offender). As you go down the page the bib association becomes a bit more dubious…is the Swing Era Necklace ($218) really a bib? But I get the point. If a little adornment goes a long way, a large adornment goes even further.

UPDATE 6/11:
And here’s the email.

They are a bit much for me. I don't think I can carry such a big necklace on my frame. Not to mention, for some of the 100+ prices, you would hope to wear it more. With such statement pieces you really can't wear them often. Certainly not like a diamond necklace for example.

There are a lot of their necklaces that I love… but I would really like to see them on a model before taking the plunge and ordering via the website. Unfortunately, I don't have an Anthro nere to compare the sizes. I like the Stormy Sea, but it looks too big for me, I adore the Gardenia Bib (that one you can see on model, cool) but wouldn't pay that price, the Cyprus, the Livia and the Otero all look great, but I can't make myself a good idea of the size. Anthro, please take pictures on model!

I'm currently in love with the Bonheur necklace but there's no Anthro near where I live and I don't know how it looks on an actual person since there's no modeling picture. Please let me know if you've tried this on in person. I'm afraid it might be too big for my 5'4 frame.

Roxy, this is totally off topic but I just had to tell you about this site I just found through another blog I follow.<a rel="nofollow"&gt <a href="http://;http://www.eshakti.com;http://www.eshakti.com<br />The dresses and tops are gorgeous – very anthro-esque. I'm planning on making an order sometime in the near future, whenever I can justify it!

I don't normally wear statement jewelry…I just wear my simple diamond cross…but I must say I think I love the new rococco bib necklace…and at $38 I just may buy it and figure out what to pair it with later. http://www.anthropologieaddict.blogspot.com

I love your blog… just a quick question. Have you (or would you consider) doing an article on anthropologie's lingerie? Thanks.

Hi Anon, depends on what kind of article it is. I have written up a couple of chemises and the like. And I noted the previews of the Satine collaboration. But I can't do any product reviews because none of Anthro's intimate pieces fit me. I'd be open to guest reviews though!
