This outfit post about going to Madewell for gifts they’ll swoon over is sponsored by Madewell. Although some of the clothing I’m wearing was provided by Madewell, all opinions are as always my own! Please read this blog’s disclosure post for more info.
New York City put on a beautiful Fall show this year! In part because of our late Spring, followed by an unseasonably warm Fall, we had some of the most brilliant leaf colors I’ve seen in my lifetime. By comparison the bare trees are almost depressing so it’s up to my outfits to inject some color. I want to help my friends do the same all Fall and Winter long. That’s why my motto is go to Madewell, get gifts they’ll swoon over!
There’s great news too. Today you can take up to 30% off your Madewell purchase! I’ll tell you how at the end of this post.
I’ve made no secret of the fact that I adore Madewell’s holiday 2018 collection. One of my favorite prints in this collection is the Blooming Oasis print. I’m wearing the wrap top and in all there are four pieces to choose from. As of this writing two of those pieces are sold out, but keeping watching Madewell’s site as they do pop back!
Madewell is offering up to 30% off your purchase through tonight with the code MERRYME. This is an even better offer than their Black Friday deal! I’ve used this code a couple of times to stock up on both gifts and a few goodies for me. (No wonder I’m a Madewell Icon, the highest level in their Insider loyalty program!)
What I got to gift: One friend and I keep a very budget-conscious limit in mind with our present spending. I’m so delighted that this promo helped the Crofton Striped Pullover Sweater in Coziest Yarn (now $50) come in under our agreed-upon spending threshold!! Another friend has really been wanting a pair of jeans with a wider leg opening (but not too wide) and I’m sure that she is going to love the The High-Rise Slim Boyjean in Lita Wash: Step-Hem Edition (now $95). Another friend has been eyeing the Velvet Button-Front Midi Dress (now $70) — I can’t wait to surprise her with it at dinner tonight! One final friend has been asking for a layered necklace, so I’ve got two wrapped up for her: this one and this one.
What I got for me: I decided to try the The Ramsey Chelsea Boot in Leather (now $147) to wear with ankle jeans. If they work out you’ll surely see them in an OOTD! I also purchased the Small Transport Crossbody in Small Fur ($138), which is sadly excluded from this promotion but well worth the price. And normally I shun beauty at clothing stores, except around the holidays! Madewell has some very cute beauty gift ideas, like the Facial Polish and Skin Silk from French Girl Organics (a brand I love) and this cute floral sage smudge stick!
I’ve got just a few Madewell favorites below in the shoppable boutique. Ok just kidding it’s huge!! I’m loving so much at Madewell right now and I know anyone you’re gift shopping for will too. Don’t be stumped by what to get for gifts this year; go to Madewell, get gifts they’ll swoon over!
Has anyone else been burned by Madewell's new return policy? It's 30 days, including the "up to two weeks" that it takes them to process the return so it's really only a 15 day return policy. (This part of the policy wasn't mentioned on their website when I ordered.)
Probably not a problem if you live in the city but for those of us who don't have a Madewell in the state, we can only shop for their stuff on-line. My new resolution is to only by Madewell at Nordstrom — though the last time I did that I bought Joe's Jeans instead of Madewell's!
It's a shame because some of their striped sweaters this year were lovely. And I like their all-cotton shirts. But I've spent over a month trying to get a refund from them for items I returned within 30 days of receiving them…

Oh no tas! I’m so sorry to hear that! I bet this is just a misunderstanding with Madewell’s customer service. I might be able to help you out — I have access to a dedicated concierge email and phone line. Email me and let’s see if we can get this fixed.
I am totally having the same problems, the new return process is killing me! 🙁 I have a return that was requested and shipped November 9 (!!!) and still hasn't been received or processed. I'm worried that after 30 days I won't get a refund. Returns have been painfully slow in general for the last month or two – the last return took 10 days to process AFTER taking two-ish weeks to ship back?

Ugh! I guess the financial problems J. Crew is having might be bleeding over to Madewell too. Seriously feel free to email me if you want me to have the VIP staff take a look for you.
Thanks for the offer. I appreciate that. But I just checked my email and finally (it took 3 days to reply, which is longer than usual — I will say they are usually prompt with their CS replies) got the rest of the refund authorized. Now just have to wait a week for it to return to the card. That I can live with.

I'm glad to hear it all seems to have worked out. 🙂
I ordered the iridescent glitter Mary Janes to give them a shot. Maybe I’m crazy (I wear some pretty glittery shoes as it is), but I’m willing to try these for work lol. At $103 for 30% off (I ordered two sizes and a couple of other small things), thu were hard to pass up.

Great buy ALauren!! I have to admit I've been fascinated with those too, probably somewhat influenced by Blair of Atlantic Pacific and her collection for Nordstrom. Will you tell us how they work out for you?
Yea, they were hard to say no to at that price. Yes definitely!
Ok I’m back! I finally finally received the shoes yesterday. They are really fun and even prettier in person – truly an iridescent rainbow (by comparison, the pouch in the same colorway isn’t nearly as pretty). These shoes themselves are comfortable, even feeling like they have padding (confirmed on the website that they do). That being said, they definitely run small. I’m a true size 37, which normally equates to a 6.5. 6.5 in these was far too snug. The 7s fit nicely (they are definitely long enough, but the cushion!), but I’m fairly certain I could have made the 7.5s work as well (that’s how snug the 6.5s are).
In conclusion, they’re adorable and comfortable. They’ll be fun with jeans and great with black tights and metallic skirts I have. Definitely worth the promo price, potentially worth the full price. You just have to size up at least 1/2 size. If you’re feet are wider, potentially one full size.
Roxy, are you considering these?

Thank you Cathy! Totally agree, yellow is a great color to have on hand during the otherwise brown or grey days.
Nice pictures and yes that yellow jacket is so CUTE!! I love that pop of color to brighten things up. I was just at the store and bought my cousin a sweet pink sweater with matching hat for Christmas and I think she love them as Madewell is her most favorite store.

Thanks Jess!! What a cute idea — I'm all about matching my top and hat these days.

Thank you so much Rach!!
Your top is really cute and you've convinced me to stop in at Madewell today since I'll be at an event in the same center.
I just can't get behind the fanny pack work over the neck and on top of the boob trend though.
And wow, the fall colors in your photos are gorgeous.
Author
I love that Kate!! And lol the fanny pack over the boobs trend is an acquired taste for sure. I'm loving it but that's totally cool if you're not!
** work over the neck and on top of the boob trend though.
(work should have been worn)
Guess I have work on my mind a bit too much.

Wow so many great Madewell picks, especially the coats and jackets. And I'm digging your belt bag, too.
Author
Thank you!! It was a random pickup at Topshop but I'm really loving it! It's so fun to wear and the fresh out of college people I work with love it. They tease me about being so on-trend lol.
Madewell is killing it this year. I love the leopard dot sweater (I purchased but now sold out) and oddly love the whole leopard jeans and sweater with it. So much good there right now!
