There may be a little something something in your mailbox from Anthropologie! Several community members have reported receiving a holiday gift from Anthro — mostly the Artic Explorer Ornament shown above. What a fun (and slightly creepy-looking maybe?) delight!
It’s not uncommon for retailers to send a holiday gift to its top customers. I get a little something from J.Crew each year and in the past I’ve received from Anthro, Saks, and a few other retailers. It’s a nice little thank you for your loyalty gesture.
Everyone always asks how retailers select the people that receive gifts. Is it based on how much you spend? How often you visit the store? Placing an order that hits a certain price threshold? After tons of calculations, algorithmic experimentation and technical research I’ve come to the following conclusion:
I don’t know.
Most likely it’s a combination of factors, or perhaps they simply draw names out of a hat. Who knows? Who cares? Your mailbox may have a little extra Anthropologie delight in it and really that’s all that matters. I’m a big fan of this ornament myself, and this one fits right into the beyond quirky category too.
