OOTD: Oversized

Note: Anthropologie posted a beautiful new outfit set on the website today, which I will have a full breakdown on tomorrow.

A few months ago, when Nordstrom had its anniversary sale, I jumped on this thick chunky sweater. I love the tan color and the varying open knit lines down the length of it. The item had no reviews so I ordered my true size medium. Jump forward a week or so later — I get the sweater and it is HUGE on me. Just ridiculously so. But unfortunately the sweater was sold out. There’s no Nordstrom around here to exchange it; I probably should have returned it. Time passed and I was hoping to trade it in for a small but I never saw my item pop back. Eventually I decided to just live with the hugemongous medium.

I inadvertently copied Nordstrom’s styling of the sweater, pairing it with these tweed Sanctuary shorts that Anthropologie called the Hay Ride Shorts ($88). Instead of tall boots I opted for these awesome foldover boots from Ruche. They sold out almost immediately and I can see why. They have a mild pirate vibe to them but I love the different styling options and how comfortable they are to wear. I should warn (in case they pop back into stock) that they smell awful when you first get them. I had to wrap them in newspaper for a few days to get the smell out. It was worth it to have a wonderful pair of boots.
