anthro: in our own words (and a contest!!!)

No way! Anthro is running a contest.

Anthropologie’s January anthro: in our own words newsletter is here, and apparently Anthro’s staff has been swapped out for a marketing team! Besides the recent Polyvore contest I cannot remember the last time Anthropologie ran their own contest, if ever. This rocks! Read on for details…

The email showcases stills and outtakes from the latest outfit set (dissected by me here). Which makes me wonder — given the sorely disappointing January catalogue, is Anthropologie trying to replace the print version with an online one? Good lord, say it ain’t so Anthro!

That square in the end on the second row is what really grabbed me though. Win a $500 gift card from Anthropologie? Yes please!

Here’s how the contest works (from the contest entry page):
Write a postcard inspired by the road trip photos seen in our latest anthro newsletter.

Using your wildest imagination, jot down what you’re seeing, doing, feeling, tasting – anything you wish, just in 30 words or less.

Three winners will be selected based on originality of content, and will each receive a $500 Anthropologie gift card. Winning entries will also be featured in a forthcoming anthro email.

Deadline to enter is January 17. For complete rules and restrictions, click here.

Effortless Anthropologie is NOT affiliated with this contest. If you want to enter, you must go to the contest entry page.

I’d love to see someone from the EA community win this! Make sure you enter by January 17, 2011. Good luck to all. Since some of you mentioned being a little lost about what to write, I came up with four examples to inspire. (I didn’t enter any of these.)
