I hope that everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day! My eternal gratitude goes to all the men and women who have served, are currently serving or have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve this country’s cherished freedoms. Thanks as well to the families of those brave enough to send a loved one off to defend our freedoms. I have multiple veterans in my family (mainly pilots, says the girl who is scared to fly) and no matter what your opinions of our current engagements I hope that you will always support our troops. I am a member of the National Military Family Association, whose efforts support the families of currently deployed and discharged troops. My membership is just $20 a year and it’s a small way for me to say thanks.
Guess what? Even though we had a markdown last week and one the week before we’re getting more markdowns tomorrow!! Maybe. I’m getting varying reports. So if it happens it will be small. Anthropologie might be trying a new tactic it appears. Small markdowns each week to see if it stimulates more purchases (and moves more full-price items). I can tell you it’s totally working on me. I walk in, check out the sale section, and end up walking out with a bag mysteriously full of both sale and full-priced items. I have no idea how it happens I tell you. No idea!
So what am I hoping for? Full greedy list below but honestly there’s one item I am dying to see moved to the sale racks. Anthropologie, in case you have forgotten what your Air Mail Skirt ($98) looks like, here’s a photo:

Speaking of which, Kim from Anthroholic stopped by her local Anthro and didn’t see anything. She’s usually spot-on so perhaps we’ll be markdownless tomorrow after all. We’ll see in the morning! I know that some of the items on my list recently came out in new colors but so what? I would love to see the “older” colors marked down. Thanks for your support Roxy! I'm a military wife of a deployed airman who comes home next month after being gone for almost a year. Yay!! I can't wait to see him. It means a lot that one of my favorite bloggers (you)is so supportive of our men and women in uniform. On another note… I think the Dwarf Quince cardigan would be the perfect item to go on sale tomorrow. I think I've been waiting longer for this sweater to go on sale than the Tempting Trellis cardigan. Frankly, I'm surprised I've held out this long.

Some of my wishlisted items have lost their appeal now that the newbies are in…I almost don't even care if there's a sale tomorrow. However, if the eyeleted islands dress should make its way to the sale rack, I wouldn't necessarily be opposed….

My Beda dress is past a PA and everything else I want or bought is brand spankin' new.BUT – every Monday I crack up, Roxy, when I read "It ain't the holidays anymore – Demi-Sec Cardigan." It was amusing back in Jan/Feb, funny in Mar/Apr, and now that it is going to be JUNE I am floored! How can they keep something floating in inventory for so long?!

Lacey – if you are signed in when you leave a comment, notice the area in "choose your identity" where it says "email follow-up comments to [email addy]. When you check that box all subsequent comments will be emailed to you. It's a nice option for people who can't check the blog at work, etc. It basically means people are subscribing to this comment thread.
Katie – hahaha, I know. I did see a SA rocking the cardi a couple of weeks ago over the Pearly Glow Tank and she looked so good! I asked permission to shamelessly copy her look and she laughed. But then I realized I refuse to buy the skirt on principle since it's been full price for 87 years or something.

I don't know if Anthro is necessarily mixing things up regarding sale days. The SA today told me that because today (Monday) is a holiday, the sale is bumped to Wednesday. Hopefully we can start seeing markdowns on the website tonight.
I asked the SA by my store and she said it will just be home markdowns this week. I don't know though…I'm still hoping that we get some markdowns on clothing

hey ladies!! hope everyone is having a GREAT Memorial Day weekend…and THANKS so much ROXY for your shoutout to all the troops and the support for our freedom :)this is slightly OT and ROXY if this isn't okay here, please remove it! i've have never had this happen to me before when i have been shopping and have never seen something like this…so this weekend was a *BIG* shocking first for me!!!!! anyone seen anything similar or have any insight?????1.) i went into DRESS BARN first and they were selling three different styles of dresses with the exact same material as the GALAXY-OF-DOTS dress…2.) then i went into WET SEAL and they were selling a tank i bought last summer at FOREVER 21 with the exact same beaded neckline/top, but different bottom AND a mint plaid tank in the exact same material of a button down western shirt i bought at AMERICAN EAGLE this past fall….3.) then i went into ANTHROPOLOGIE and they are selling a blouse called the SUNDAY SUPPER SHIRT the red one is the exact same material as a blouse i bought at little kids ABERCROMBIE & FITCH in the fall two years ago and the shirt is almost an exact replica to the A&F blouse i bought too??!!! do companies usually share their materials? have you ladies (ROXY) seen this before and often? i must say i am blown away…wow!!! any thoughts 🙂 THANKS!!♥Megp.s. the SA @ ANTHRO told me there would be a sale this wk and she thought on tuesday! 😉

Annie – I got the Pearly Glow in a large. Here's my review.Megan – kinda funny, right? I do see k/o's of Anthro items at other stores and yes Anthro occasionally knocks off someone else with their designs. Sometimes items are unintentionally similar. Sometimes it's calculated. Some overlap is inevitable I suppose though I find it to be lame.

Megan – I don't really have too much insight into this. I did have a friend who worked in NYC basically sourcing fabric. One example she gave me was that a large brand (I don't recall which one) hired her company to find a certain swimsuit fabric. They have vendors who go to them to show them swatches. Sometimes, if the fabric's needed ASAP, they send someone door to door with a swatch to find something. I went school for fashion design in NYC and one of my teachers explained that her company, if they couldn't find fabric at the price point they need it, sends a swatch to China to have it made/found.
AIR MAIL SKIRT was on sale in Perimeter mall in GA. $49 and they had 2 size 6, and a size 12 and 10 maybe.Yay! At checkout I noticed it got moved to the sale room and today was my last day for PA!!! Woo hoo!I returned a 0P Sunrise and Midnight and a size 0 Alena skirt.
I just called the Cincinnati store to have them hold an Aniseed Skirt for me (Please go on sale, please go on sale…) and was told by the SA that they are doing mark downs tonight and she said it's "a lot of stuff." 🙂

Jenna Lynn~The Aniseed skirt was not marked down in Reston, I know as of Sat they had several in store…as Kim said in her post they were still marking items down so you never know.Also remembered the Chalk & Charcoal skirt was marked down as well as the Porridge shirts with the carrots & radishes, not sure of the name. 🙂
