In theory, long and lean.
In reality what a mess the Lean Lines Tunic ($88) was on me. One nice thing I can say is that the fabric felt really nice. Blue Bird may have beaten the normal blousemasters Odille out here in terms of fabric. However I found my true size medium had an a-line shape below the waist that was very odd. It took the lean factor away to me.
The sash itself was too structured to sit down and the end result is bulk around the waist. I’d probably swap it out for a belt in real life. I did not like this on very much, just not the shape for me. Pass, back to the rack. If you want a different point of view Rosa rocked this top in her OOTD yesterday.
Next up is Edme & Esyllte’s Bretonnes Blouse ($68). Loved this top as soon as it appeared on the website though it’s outside of Anthropologie’s normal point of view. I’m pleased to say it looked fabulous on. Not slouchy at all. I grabbed my usual size medium.
The sleeves only have the button detailing on side. I love the color contrast of the buttons! I am also digging the sleeve style with its pulled up look. The scoopneck is great too, just the right depth to show off a necklace. This shirt is so simple and chic. I can see wearing it both to work and out on the town. The shirt is just a little sheer so a cami or tank will be required underneath. The only negative is that it’s dry clean only. Boo-urns. Couldn’t wait this one out though so it came home with me. Wearing it today actually.
The neckline of Yoana Baraschi’s Rumpled Floret Blouse ($118) is reminiscent of her Soft Drapes Blouse from last fall in terms of shape. As goldenmeans said in her post, this designer tends to repeat necklines whether by design or request. I grabbed my normal size 6. Unfortunately it had been squeezed into a crowded rack. Plus side? Plenty of sizes to choose from. Down side? The right-hand pleat was all kinds of messed up, hence the weird side pull you see above. The pleat is intended to fall straight like the left side.
I like the sleeves on this shirt and the material itself is floaty gauze in a lovely shade of light pink. Makes me think of Easter. The neckline though, I dunno. It’s very J.Crew. Just layers of stuff sewn on top of each other. It’s somewhat neat and yet messy at the same time. I also found it to look cheap. This does not feel like a $120 top despite the intricacy of the neckline. Not feeling it sadly. Back to the rack.
I agree- the Rumpled Floret blouse is gorgeous and I love its shape, but ugh that neckline! It looks like someone just randomly glued a bunch of wadded up, dyed (and perhaps used) Kleenex to it, I think. It makes me want to cry. :(I love the Brettones Blouse on you, though- good choice Roxy!
Hmmm…Lean Lines Tunic – I'm curious but note your comment about the bottom being A-line. Saw Rosa's pic earlier. Also like the Brettones on you.

LOL, the Rumpled Floret blouse came out the day after I posted that Yoana Baraschi retrospective, and I couldn't help laughing at myself. It's as if YB was forced to do a take on CLC's Snowscape Tank or something.Love the Brettones Blouse on you — awesome!
I thought the Rumpled Floret looked really pretty on you. I like the contrast of the defined collarbones with the floaty material.

I am always a bit disappointed by Anthropologie's items in my favourite colour. Pink always seems to be relegated to use in some sort of unflattering cut for my body type. Alas! The Brettones Blouse looks great by the way! That is the definite winner in this post. It is not my personal taste but it seems flattering and looks cool for sure.
