Hey Roxy, Do you think there's any chance that the Rare Bloom Tee, the Night Blooming Dress, or the Horizon Line Dress will go on sale any time soon?

  2. January 12, 2010 / 1:42 pm

Hi sara22185, I am doubtful that the Rare Bloom Tee or Horizon Line Dress will ever go on sale, as they've sold very well in-store. If they do it will probably be at least another month or two. I think you've got a better shot with the Night Blooming Dress, which should hit sale in February.By the way, for those surprised that the Wind Rippled Tee went on sale last week, I think today's new short-sleeved version shows why. 🙂

Hi Roxy-I think I saw a few new sale additions here and there, like the Pleiad Shirtdress and the Enchantment Dress by Leifstdottir. Also, some shoes that are new to the sale, a coat, and a few others. I don't think they have been added to the fresh cuts section.I love your blog–thanks for all the hard work!

Hi Roxy! I was wondering would the soho store carry a lot of the home sale selections – specifically, the curtains? I would rather take a look at it first before making a purchase online. Thanks a bunch!!

Anon, thanks for catching those! You must have better eyes than I do.Mel, Soho's home section is mostly bedding and kitchen/dining. I think you'd have better luck at Rockefeller (HUGE home section) or 5th Ave.

Thanks for the info Roxy. I also have a question about the Wind Rippled Tee now that you mention it. I have it in two colors and would love to get the new short sleeved version, but I'm having problems with the one layer on the top fraying. What happens if the whole layer starts to fray? I love that top, but I won't want to wear it if it's a frayed mess!

the short sleeve version of the wind rippled tee looks very cute!i didn't get a chance to get the long sleeve one, so now i'm in luck :)thanks for the sale updates!

I have all the Royal Menagerie Knobs and they are my favorites – I am not sad I bought them full price. If anyone is an 'artisal doorknob lover' (he he – maybe Roxy will remember where that quote comes from) like me – I'd go and get those :)Oh and yes the Rockefeller Store homewares section, esp when they restock the sale part is a treasure trove- there will be WAY more there than online…

    oops I meant 'artisanal' 🙂

Sara–I had a problem with mine fraying too. I went to the fabric store and picked up some No-Fray stuff. It's an adhesive that binds the threads together. It's washable, and it works really well. The problem with it is that it does darken the fabric a little. I used very little around the edges, so the darkness is not at all noticeable and the fraying has stopped on mine.

I returned my Night Blooming Dress because I noticed that the underarms on both sides were beginning to tear and I had not even worn the dress yet!

  12. January 12, 2010 / 5:51 pm

Diem, thank you for sharing about the Night Blooming Dress! I tried it on in store and fell in love, but couldn't afford it right then. But if you're seeing issues already without even wearing it, I am staying away!

Diem, Did you return your Night Blooming dress to the Tyson's store? I think I might have bought it yesterday! They had a 6 and an 8. I noticed the 8 was completely ripped right above the zipper, but the 6 wasn't, so I got that one. I'm thinking I might not keep it though because I don't want to be afraid the dress will rip every time I put it on!

Thanks for the tip Tien! I think I will look into getting that stuff. Do you think Michael's would have it?

  15. January 12, 2010 / 7:01 pm

I think you should be able to find that stuff at any crafts/fabric store. If Michael's doesn't have it, JoAnn should.

sara22185 – Yes, I did. It was a size 2. I think people must be returning them because when I bought my dress there was only two of them, one size 2 and a size 6. Yesterday, I saw two other Night Blooming dresses. I wasn't going to pay full price for a dress that was going to rip that easily. That's the thing I don't like about Anthro. Yes, they have a liberal return policy, but they put practically everything that has been returned, even those items that are damaged, back on the rack for sale.It seems you and I frequent the same stores. Maybe we will run into each other one day.

  17. January 12, 2010 / 8:26 pm

I'm pretty sure that the Enchantment Dress by Leifsdottir was already on the sale rack online sometime in November… I wonder why so many of them re-surfaced today.

  18. January 12, 2010 / 8:28 pm

Also, thanks for the great tip Tien! I've been having the same problem with my Wind Rippled Tee.

As much as I love it when more bedding/housewares go on sale, I haven't been as impressed with their home section this past year so the stuff that made it to the sale section is meh (IMHO). And I was really hoping that the Glasshouse dress, Reed shirtdress, and/or the Maeshowe shirtdress were going to be marked down this morning. *sign* Perhaps next week…

Honestly, I am relieved that absolutely nothing I have been coveting has gone on sale. My bank account is happy, too!

Hee, Anon I agree. My wallet is still smoldering from the last week of December.
