A piece apart

Cruising around Anthropologie’s website I stumbled upon this awesome shoot buried in the jewelry section. Though ostensibly about accessories it’s a brilliant outfit set; a great companion to the set currently featured on the site.

This outfit is so darling, isn’t it? I love the tree swing as a prop and the model’s flowing wavy hair. I think my favorite part is that when you click into the product page for the Chalkboard Capelet ($80) the upsells are actually the coordinating pieces of the outfit! Hooray! I will now proceed to buy every piece.

Also in this outfit:
Which Way Tunic ($48)
AG Ellis Tomboy ($178)
The necklace is not online yet, so Anthro suggests the Strata Bounty Necklace ($138)
Slither & Saunter Oxfords ($129)

This outfit left me breathless. It’s boho chic done so incredibly well. When I was in middle school this is exactly how I thought adults should dress. My personal style ended up evolving into more of a preppy vibe but for this look I’d happily turn back to the free spirit within.

In this outfit:
There-She-Goes-Vest ($68)
Yesteryear Barrette ($10)
Preppy & Peppy Blouse ($78)
AG Stevie Skinny ($168)
Bee Flower Wedges ($98)

Another unbelievable outfit. This strikes me as quintessential Anthropologie, from the dreamy far-off look right down to the draped skirt. This is the woman I want to be when I grow up!

In this outfit:
Chantilly Begonia Poncho ($118)
Oscillating Folds Blouse ($88)
Playing Favorites Skirt ($88)
Innumerable Necklace ($48)
Faceted Posy Headband ($32)

Gorgeous. Really, really well done Anthropologie.

I really like the necklace in the first outfit, but I sincerely doubt it is the Strata Bounty Necklace. I guess it is a new one not on the website yet. I look forward to see it soon, and I wish the price will be soft for my budget!

I'm surprised I didn't see thisI love the photos and how they played into the wraps and things…It does compliment the outfits section..thanks for posting!

I tried on the Preppy & Peppy blouse yesterday- it's not flattering for longer torso individuals. On a side note, the flocked chiffon blouse has been marked down again to $39.95- if anyone sees it in stores in a 4, please let me know!(my word verification is "blogis")

Sandrine — Interesting, you're right that isn't the Strata Bounty Necklace…hmm…I will update the post in a sec.Natalie – these outfits strike me as totally you! Very artistic with a strong point of view.Molly Darling – bummer about the blouse, can't say I'm surprised with the longer back but I hope to try it on anyway. It's kind of like a cape that's also a shirt. I feel like it would be perfect for a Renaissance superhero.

roxy, love the new site format! I'm also looking forward to your review of the items featured in today's "Bra Basics" email from anthro. At first I was psyched that they're adding bras with more support — and then I noticed that they're skipping 34Ds – but offering 36D and 38D?! Whiskey.Tango.Foxtrot?!

I just adore the third outfit. I saw these late last night on the website and I have every piece of that outfit wishlisted now. I just have to wait for my wallet to recover from the last visit to Anthropologie…

Like the new format! Thanks for pointing to these pics, usually I head right to the sale section. I'm also looking forward to reviews of the new intimates, I'm happy to see 38D!

OT, but re: the climbing cowlneck:I emailed CS about it & this is what I got:Hello Molly, Actually, the item has been recalled as it did not meet the requirements of Anthropologie. I am sorry but it not available to purchase at this time.???

  11. January 21, 2010 / 11:16 pm

Huh, interesting. Well if it wasn't up to snuff better that they recalled it. I wonder what was wrong.

Roxy – thank you for this post! I wouldn't have seen these super-cute outfits and had never even glanced at the There-She-Goes vest in the sweaters section (looks so boring from the front). But when I saw the pic with the adorable blue knit on the back, had to have it. Placed my order today. I've had the worst day at work, and thinking about how this vest goes with everything in my closet is perking me up. (Sad, but true).

Taryn & Athena – me too! Really I want all 3 outfits now, and I probably would have glazed right over these pieces before. Dorrie – sorry for the all caps BUT WTF I THOUGHT THE SAME THING. They skipped right over my size (34D) so I won't be able to review any of them for sizing. And no, a 36C is not the same thing. Denise – isn't it surprising these outfits didn't get more play? I would love to see these featured on the front page (though the current slideshow there is also very pretty). Sorry to hear about the tough day at work. A little retail therapy will hopefully help. Sending better day tomorrow vibes your way!Ady – I am also waiting for my wallet to recover. Ditto on the wishlist too. :)CheesyGoodness – I am happy to see D cups as well. I am confused why they skipped 32/34Ds though. I am feeling left out.

Oh really quick update: one of my friends emailed me to offer to guest review the bras. Thanks J!

LOVE the There-She-Goes vest! I really want that whole outfit now but I probably need to see an IRL shot of the vest first. Pretty, pretty!!!

*so* glad they're updating the sidebar photos to be relevant to the outfit you're looking at. They used to do this, I don't know why they ever switched it up.
