Styled: The Acclimate Sweater

Anthropologie at ShopStyle

This post is for Anonymous who asked to see both work and casual options for the Acclimate Sweater ($128) by Sparrow.

This sweater is so unusual and gorgeous. I apparently missed it in-store; when I inquired about it I was told it had already sold out! Hopefully it will get restocked. Both of the looks we made are more work-appropriate. In this outfit, swapping out the trousers for jeans will immediately turn it casual. The straight leg of the trouser draws attention up to the sweater and will make you look tall and lean. Because of the sweater’s unusual shape we recommend a belt anytime you wear it with pants. We like the ruffled blouse because the ruffles will peer out from under the sweater in a soft, delicate way. The shoes and purse are just frilly delights to pop against the neutral main palette. Same with the jewelry — we went for standout items but you could keep it simple if you want the sweater to star.

In this outfit:
Acclimate Sweater ($128)
Dewpoint Blouse ($68, review here)
Imperative Trousers ($118)
Open Wing Heels ($338)
Seeds & Petals Bag ($168)
Smoky Petals Necklace ($178)
Slender Strands Belt ($42)

Again for this set we’re showing the work version. You can make this casual by swapping in a denim or corduroy skirt. We’d keep the length of any skirt the same (at or just above the knee) since the sweater has such a strong shape to it. The red shell is not a bold red, it’s deeper and will not overpower the outfit when the sweater is open. The skirt has a bit of sparkle to it plus texture, great for winter! In fact this whole outfit is all about mixing colors and textures and shapes. Yes we did red and green. No we do not think it looks Christmas-y. And hopefully you don’t either.

In this outfit:
Acclimate Sweater ($128)
Heritage printed shell ($70)
Twilit Skirt (now $70)
MICHAEL Michael Kors ‘Pressley’ Pump ($98)
1 1/3 Carat Emerald 14K Gold Pendant w/Chain ($195)
Kate Spade Mardi Gras studs ($38)
Piped Diamonds Tote (now $130)

I love the Imperative Trousers! Your second outfit is having me seriously consider the twilit skirt.I also like to pair red and green and I don't think it looks christmasy if you do with it with the right shades. I'm really enjoying these styled posts. Thanks Roxy!

Anon – I saw the necklace in-store today. It doesn't look cheap but it feels a lot lighter than you'd want. I think it's worth it but ymmv (your mileage may vary).
