Bridging the Gap

Anthropologie has updated its website outfits section. (Note to Anthro: Update this section more often please! You can never pitch too many outfit ideas.) This time around they’re featuring ways to wear sweaters now and later.

I love almost all of the options once again reinforcing to myself that I am a winter baby. The one above is my favorite, featuring the Felice Cardigan ($98). The Jocelyn Skirt‘s ($98) silk twill is also highly tempting. Can’t wait to see both of these in real life. It’s also nice to see that Anthro is getting their sidebar upsells on the product pages up-to-date. For awhile they were just featuring whatever the next product in the section was but now they have complementing items that complete an outfit like the old site used to.

Moth’s Funneled Folds Cardigan ($168) has an intriguing peacock feather pattern matched with asymmetric buttons. I love the ways Anthro chose to style it too pushing this right onto my radar. The warmer days outfit pairs it with Paperboy’s Passage-of-Time Skirt ($88). I own the summer version of the skirt (now $29.95, no longer online) and I love it. The material is so soft and by sizing up one size I was able to wear it low enough on my hips to be totally comfortable with the length.

In this outfit above I am drawn to the “for cooler climes” option. The Season Stroll Sweatercoat ($168) looks it could be overpowering but the chunky Tawny Acres Boots ($248) balance it out well. I hope they are the rich almond color they appear to be on this outfit page and not the washed out color they seem to be on the product page.

I’m glad I’m not the only one scratching my head at the cooler climes combo of this outfit. A jacket over a sweater vest? I’m poking fun yet I have to say it works. The combo is made via the featured Pinnacle Vest ($98) and the Garcon Jacket ($88). I usually avoid cropped jackets like the plague but this outfit makes me want to try it out.

Which outfit is your favorite?

I don't know what it is about it, but I'm loving the pinacle vest with the garcon jacket the most. Maybe because I would have never thought of pairing it together. It's o cute!

The peacock sweater is so interesting. I think I am going to have to keep an eye on the sale rack for that.
