Reviews: Sandals and sun

One of the finer points in life is having friends who wear the same size clothing as you. Or in this case, shoes. Why break the bank when you can split the bill? I have two partners in crime in a size 9 and we’ve each invested in a pair of Anthropologie sandals to trade among us.

First up are the Iced Coffee Sandals ($82). Pink Studio has really been my shoe hero this summer — I love my Triglav Peep-Toes too. The Iced Coffee Sandals are comfy and great as casual wear. I love the different colored straps. No pinching and the ankle strap is big enough to fit around my ridiculous circumference yet small enough to fit my friend’s skinny minnies. My one complaint is that the metallic strap rubs off a little bit, leaving some glitter on you when you remove the shoes.

The Aquaculture Sandals ($105) are stunners by Sam Edelman. Kind of ancient Rome meets modern rock star. I adore the jewel details on these. They are pretty comfortable. My main complaints are that my foot slides forward and back a little bit as I walk and that the ankle straps are just barely wide enough for me. My legs are thick, much as it pains me to say. But these draw tons of compliments and they look super cool. Another winner.

The Button-Topped Slingbacks ($138) are the final pair in our trifecta. I would not have given these a second look but of the three pairs in this roundup they are the most comfortable. I love the fabric buttons with their little jewel details. And the canvas straps are just really comfy and stretch in the sun. The bottom of these sandals are slightly slippery but otherwise I have no complaints. Cute shoes all around.
