Anthro is hiding several gems around their site right now. I’m surprised the Bombast & Cymbal Skirt ($88) by Idra hasn’t gotten more fanfare. I first saw it in-store on a mannequin paired with the Minimalist Blouse ($148) which made quite a lovely statement. Since then I’ve been dreaming up different pairings for the item.
The versatility of this skirt is great — dress it up or dress it down. The size 8 skirt fit me well but when I buy this skirt I will probably size up to a 10 so it sits lower on my hips. It’s not a mini at 18″ but it definitely hits above the knee (mid-thigh in the 8 for me). The thick cotton material is similar to the Isabella Skirt: thick cotton with shaping seams in both the back and front.
The coral color is great for spring or fall and the buttons are a little bit of band geek chic. I am appropriately swooning over this skirt. How about you?

I, too, size up for skirts. I hate when they sit too close to my belly button! Nice to know I am not alone and wearing the skirts the wrong way.
The sale does seem to be winding down. I am hoping the home items go on sale soon…I have fallen in love with the Corrigan Chair, among other things.
