Metapost: Back and recovering

My sincere apologies for not being able to post this week — I was running around Central Florida a lot more than I thought I’d be. The good news is that Atlantis successfully launched on Monday (yay!) and I eagerly await its safe return.

I have a whole bunch to post about, including emails from this week and updated sales earnings reports. I’ll also have some product reviews. Posting to resume tomorrow once I fully emerge from my Dramamine-induced haze.

In the meantime, here’s a dorky picture of yours truly with a friend’s kids.

It's so funny to see this post and pic on your blog — my godfather is on that shuttle! I went to the launch and blogged about it haha.

Ooh I see! Small world, huh? Hope you didn't burn to a crisp in the sun like I did.

Wait, does your sister work for NASA or is she an astronaut, too??? That is a crazy small world … I did get crispy in the sun! Where did you watch the launch from?

She works for Ball Aerospace. They have two projects on the orbiter. I watched from the causeway across the river — the Banana River maybe? We weren't especially close but I used the superzoom on my camera.

Ohhh Banana Creek, yup! They put us in the family viewing area at the Apollo Saturn Center (I think that's the name of it?)That is awesome, such a small world! Yup, that's my Godfather Mike…. he's also my cousin. We just watched him do his first spacewalk yesterday … so nerve-racking!

He did great! Especially when they ran into the issues with the gyroscopes. He has a bunch of fans in my family. 🙂 Very excited for the mission's success.
