Reviews: Finishing Touch Necklace

The Elusive Finishing Touch necklace ($48) I ordered in December finally came last week! (And it seems they are still having a hard time keeping it in stock, though I saw several in-store in NYC last week.) I like the 1920s-style accents on this piece…the fan next to the Florette, the multiple hoop accents on the other side. The pastel palette of green, peach and brown were also eye candy for me. Though originally purchased as a gift once I inherited it myself I hoped the necklace would bring out the green in my hazel eyes.

When I saw the necklace in-store I was surprised by how light it was. I had assumed the fan and chain were made of metal. The chain was; the fan and hoop accents were made of something else. Plastic, aluminum, I’m not really sure. But they didn’t have the significance or mass of metal. The necklace was almost too light it seemed. I was also surprised by the varying quality of the Florette stones. They were not Tiger’s Eyes like the product photo seemed to show. They are more like glass beads with striping in them. That said, I rather like the effect in real life.

My favorite part of the necklace though has to be the center stone. The product photo online doesn’t give accurate details — there are sparkles in the center stone! Not obtrusive, childish sparkles. It looks as though someone took Amber with hundreds of tiny grains of sparkly sand and set it as the foundation stone. It is gorgeous. The green glass beads are true to the color of the online product shot at the top of this post.

I wore the necklace today and I liked it more with each passing hour. It’s light, it’s fun and it can dress an outfit up or down. I think this necklace would be better priced at $30 than $48. Even at full price it is a keeper for me.

Nice! Can we see the outfit you wore it with? I was curious to see this necklace styled.
