Metapost: Administrative Notes

Eye Candy: Store Inspiration will run tomorrow morning! Instead I thought it was about time to give an administrative update for things going on behind the scenes at Effortless Anthropologie.

Effortless Anthropologie gets a makeover: First, as many of you saw via one of the comments threads earlier this week, an entire new version of this site is on the way. For a long time many of you have been asking for FAQ-style posts and quick links to the main courses of this blog: The Trade Market, the Sale Guessing Game, etc. I’m happy to report that thanks to the help of some of my wonderful developer friends, as well as an assist from the team at IntenseDebate, the new version is just about done. It may go live as soon as Monday! It will be a drastic change from how the site looks now but will still have the same wonderful community and content. If you want to see a sneak preview you can check out my dev site, and I’d love to hear your feedback. (note: the dev site is incomplete and buggy, but will give you a general idea.)

A bigger, better Trade Market: If you’ve ever wondered where the revenues from my affiliate links go, the answer is two places: towards contests, and right back into the blog. I recently purchased classified ad software and have hired one of my friends to help me make it look like EA. We’re currently testing out the new version and hope to launch it in about two weeks. The new version is SO exciting for me — there will be pictures, categories so you can tag items (i.e. Floreat, skirt, Miroslav, etc.) and of course as always it will be totally free. We’ll have featured listings, a much better search, and the ability to subscribe to listings just as you can to comments now. If things work out the way I hope, I will be joining forces on this with another very popular exchange many of you have been using for years. 🙂 More details to come on this soon.

Artist interview series: Just a tease for now, but I have interviews in the hopper with some of the artists and designers behind the Anthropologie products. I hope that by telling their stories we will see all the work and effort that goes into the designs. I know it’s been fascinating for me to speak with these talented people! If you know or represent an artist who designs clothing, accessories or home products for Anthropologie I’d love to speak with you! Please email me! I will also be featuring smaller artists that are under the radar, so to speak. Can’t wait to launch this series!

Things you love week: Coming next week — community members and bloggers share the things they love as we head up to Valentine’s Day. Plus, 5 giveaways, starting on Monday. You don’t want to miss it.

If you have an idea for a feature or post you’d like to see on Effortless Anthropologie, or a suggestion, please let me know! Is something not working the way you’d like? I’d love to hear your take. Your feedback is always welcome. Cheers to a wonderful community!
