Tied With a Ribbon Necklace ($34), Dotty Clusters Tights ($16).
Cold weather is upon us…maybe. While the unseasonably warm temps continue here in NYC clothing retailers try to convince me to layer up. Anthropologie’s latest outfit set is an invitation to break out the cold weather gear and a suggestion on some less traditional holiday party looks. Pour yourself some tea and scroll through the looks with me.
This first look, called Hosting at Home, has a great mix of dressed up and dressed down elements. I love the Spliced Ikat Shift ($168) though I fear the pattern against my thighs. Personally I would go for a different shoe and cardigan choice but I like how relaxed the model looks! Too bad the flowers aren’t included in real life.
Shaded Sunrise Top ($78, review here), McQueen Slim Cargo Trousers ($88),
On-the-Go Midboots ($298), Areca Necklace ($72).
The practical person in me wonders where the gloves and hat are for this look, Tree Farm Outing. It gets pretty windy out there! Is the Winter Fern Sweatercoat really warm enough to be a top layer in snow? Doubtful, though it is lovely and I’m glad Anthro showcased it in a look. I love the strip of black at the waist that looks like a belt (or makes a great base upon which to layer one). Just don’t let that necklace get caught near a chainsaw.
Gilgarran Boots ($288), Slopes Scarf ($68), Oleaster Bag ($148).
This look reminds me of an outfit set from a couple of years ago. I love the tones of a grey as a base and the plum-ish purple on top is a cool choice. It’s a great way to do winter colors. My favorite element here though has to be the Oleaster Bag ($148), which looks big enough to be a holiday sleepover bag and beautiful enough to carry around all day.
