I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.
This post is for community members to trade information. You can ask for help in finding an item, report back on what you saw in-store at your local Anthro, ask general questions, make a request, or just stop by to say hello. I love how helpful this community can be!
Some FAQs….
– What does “sub” mean?
It means that people are subscribing to the comment thread. You can do this by checking the “send follow-up comments to x email address” box in the comment form.
– Someone in the comments said they wanted to buy an item from me, but it’s been x hours and I haven’t heard squat. What should I do?
I give people 24 hours for the benefit of the doubt. After that move on to the next person that contacted you.
– Someone said they returned an item at the store 20 minutes ago but I just called the store and it’s gone. What gives?!?
A store associate might have taken a fancy to it or a customer might have grabbed it. Maybe it’s just at the bottom of a big ol’pile. Unfortunately, you’re out of luck.

I was at the Oakbrook, IL yesterday during lunch and returned a gray snakebite belt in size Small if anyone's looking; they had a fairly well stocked sale section, including lots of tights! Hi Ladies,Mini-rant below!I am frustrated that we can no longer access the Dec. '09 catalog online–it contains some prime stalking items, such as the Reed Shirtdress and the Night Blooming Dress. I emailed CS to inquire about it, and I was told that it was disabled because only the most recent three catalogs are active. Well, as we know, this isn't the case 🙂 I don't want to be a pain, but I would like access to this catalog, for myself & also for this community. Any ideas on how to proceed from here? Thanks!

I called La Jolla and asked them to let me know when it comes in. They said they'll do their best, although it's not 100% that it will get to me (depending on if the SAs see her note). All there are a .bunch of pop backs on the lime juice dress in 2,4, and 6. The Beanstalk dress in sm, med, and large. The on the wing blous in sz 2, 6, 8, 12, and 14.All are in the January catalogue.

Jinii – I had the same issue. You probably just need to size up. With the size 2 Shoofly I found the coat itself to fit fine but the belt was kinda short. With the size 4 the coat fit the same, the sleeves slightly longer, but the belt definitely longer.I also returned a size 4 and 6 On-A-Wing blouse to the Chicago Block 37 a few days ago, if anyone is interested.

Hi gals! I just wanted to share another source of Anthro clothing. I was shopping at TJ Maxx and found at least 3 different lines that Anthro/UO carries. I know it's from Anthro/UO because of the RN# (66170). Anyways, there was Sparrow, Knitted and Knotted, and Ecote. I purchased a Sparrow Cardigan for $24.99. I don't know the style# or its Anthro name, but I like it!I hope you ladies have a TJ Maxx nearby. It's worth a shot 🙂

Hi all,I just got back from the Topanga Mall Anthro (Woodland Hills, CA) and they had TONS of..Rare Bloom Tops in Navy (all sizes)Alena Skirts in Navy and pink (all sizes)Parachuting Petals Tops (all sizes)Stratus Cloud Tops (all sizes)Those were the notable sale items I saw.Also, a non-sale item….they had a good amount of the Wright Dress in all sizes (I definitely saw 0,2,4,6,8,10). I know a lot of us have been lusting after it.I myself decided to try it on after being seduced by all the hype…and all the hype is true…it is truly adorable and i buckled and broke my cardinal rule of not buying anything Anthro full price. UGH. Please bear with me, but I am really frustrated right now… I ordered the Freshwater T-straps as soon as they went on sale last week, because I wanted to wear them with the Ablaze Dress for my graduation. I excitedly tracked my shipment all week and saw that it had arrived today so I couldn't wait to get home from work to try them on. Well, I opened the box just now and instead of seeing my shoes inside, there was a big candle! And now, of course, the heels are sold out in my size and not available in any stores according to customer service. Still looking for that magical unicorn the Night-Blooming Dress in a size 6. The Houston Westheimer store only had 2 Reed Shirtdresses, and that was Tuesday, so they probably don't have them anymore. But they *did* have the Bayan Dress in every size (didn't work for me 🙁 boo) and several of the Anna Sui needlepoint corsets, marked down to I think $39? They had a second cut, anyway. They also had several of the pink Alena skirts but not many of the navy.On a side note, here's how Anthro obsessed I am: I took a nap this afternoon, and I dreamed that I was playing at this arcade, one of those claw machines where you get the prizes out, and I saw they had Tawny Gardens dresses inside the machine. Sasathorn, it fit me exactly like the Winged Victory Top — my review of that top is here. While the 6 fit fine it created some pulling along the wing detail so I would size up to an 8 to buy it.

The Natick, MA store had severalReed shirtdresses in the sale room about an hour before closing tonight – they had 1 blue plaid (size 2) and the solid green (2 size 4s, a size 2 and a 0 I believe. They also had a teal rare bloom tee (XS), and a few vanilla bean blouses (sorry I didn't check sizes).

So I took the plunge and ordered the Foil-Wrapped Heels on Friday, since I figured they wouldn't last until second mark-down at the rate they were going (plus, hello- Chie Mihara). Six hours after I placed my order, I received the dreaded cancellation notification. I spent the rest of my evening calling Customer Service and the six stores they referred me to, to find a pair of 37s already spoken for and a pair of too-big-for-me 38s, which I asked them to hold, as desperate as I was while I mulled it over.For some reason, my body decided the time to wake up this morning was 5 AM, so I wandered onto my cancellation notification to bemoan my lack of orangy-gold heeled future when I spotted a pop-back in my exact size. Now, according to CS, this may get canceled on Monday morning if someone managed to order them before me, but I've also come to the conclusion that while I might have convinced myself to get the 38s that are certainly too big for me but are a sure thing if they were a fraction of the price, but since they're not even half off, I'm not willing to pay $200 for shoes that aren't entirely comfortable.So if you are looking for the Foil Wrapped Heels by Chie Mihara in a 8/38 (the sizing the SA gave), email me for the store info. jamieehansell at gmail.com

I was looking for a sz 12 but ended up buying a sz 10, looks like it runs a little big. I also found the Fairy Cake (Floreat) sz 8 and 10 (the 12 is mine now!).

At the Glendale, CA Anthro I spotted 1 Looping Lanes Belt (not sure what size, sorry!) and also 1 Small Grey Snakebite belt (I got the black one!)They also had 2 Longing for Yellow dresses in size 2….so weird thought because usually in that brand I wear a 4 but the size 2 was big on me! Also, these particular dresses had a weird belt problem…the belt seemed like it was too large for the dress. But it didn't look like someone switched the belts out because it was still stitched to the dress in the back. Weirdness. Good luck all!

I stopped by The Woodlands, TX store yesterday. They had a ton of Vanilla Bean Blouses, smallest size was a 2 that I saw. Also, a bunch of Lime Juice dresses (2 & up), Monukka dresses, Plains and Praries dresses, Raveneli blouses (2 & up), one Longing for Yellow dress (6, I think) and a ton of Alena skirts on sale. No Reed Shirtdresses, though.Also, (but not on sale, of course) there were a bunch of Drifting By dresses, some Snow Covered Fields dresses, a few Fifth Form shifts, Parted Petals cardigans, and I even saw one brown snakebite belt (m) hidden in the sale room behind some pantsSorry for such little info about available sizes, Admittedly, I was only looking for my own.

I just returned the following to the Marlton, NJ store:- drifting by dress (sz 0)- two wheeler dress (sz 0)- shoofly trench (sz 0)In the sale room saw:- reed shirtdress in red sz 0 – several alena skirts in pink and navy- pleated pencil skirt assorted sizes in taupe and blackthe sale room wasn't that well stocked and i didn't look too much in it but those were the couple of things that caught my eye
Susannah-I see that the 7.5 Freshwater T-straps are still available, and I'd order those if I were you. Chies can run pretty small, and I have a pair from last season that are based on the same shape, and they are almost too small for me in my regular size. I wouldn't be surprised if the 7.5 will fit you (and if it's a bit too big, you can use foot petals or heel grips to make it a perfect fit). Good luck!
Saw 3 Fifth Form Shift dresses at the Short Hills NJ store today hidden behind the Tonal Gingham dress which was hidden behind another dress that's name escapes me. I know many wanted the Fifth Form and the often have stuff stuck behind other stuff in this store due to the lack of room.They have tons of jeans in their sale room BTW and tons of the Pictureshow dress in all sizes.

Susanna: I have found the Chie's to run small always. I am either a 8.5 or 9 depending on the styling of the shoe. I ordered these same shoes (love them by the way) and the 9 fit perfectly. I was so upset when you said there was a candle in the box instead of the shoes. I think you can make the 7.5 work. I ended up with the Smoked Stacked Heels in a 9.5 and added a pad for my right foot. The left foot was not too big either. Good Luck! I did see them on Piperlime, also, but they were not on sale.

Tulip, the ice-capped blouse is now $29.99 in stores. One popped up in my size on my wishlist last week (!), but at the $59.99 price. I ordered it, then called CS, and they matched the store price by giving me a PA. 🙂 I love Anthropologie CS! Though I do wish the website prices would just automatically sync up with the store prices.
