I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.
This post is for community members to trade information. You can ask for help in finding an item, report back on what you saw in-store at your local Anthro, ask general questions, make a request, or just stop by to say hello. I love how helpful this community can be!
Some FAQs….
– What does “sub” mean?
It means that people are subscribing to the comment thread. You can do this by checking the “send follow-up comments to x email address” box in the comment form.
– Someone in the comments said they wanted to buy an item from me, but it’s been x hours and I haven’t heard squat. What should I do?
I give people 24 hours for the benefit of the doubt. After that move on to the next person that contacted you.
– Someone said they returned an item at the store 20 minutes ago but I just called the store and it’s gone. What gives?!?
A store associate might have taken a fancy to it or a customer might have grabbed it. Maybe it’s just at the bottom of a big ol’pile. Unfortunately, you’re out of luck.

The Cincinnati store had the quite a few of the Eva Franco Fluttering Pencil Skirts in size 4 and smaller for $30. I believe this skirt runs large. I also saw a Lolland Dress in XS, and an About-Town Dress in XS (may have been S, but pretty sure it was XS.) They also had the Gainsborough Pencil Skirt in smaller sizes, and quite a few Fifth Form Shifts. They also have the Saint-Germain Chemise in both black and peach. The peach is no longer available online, and the black in almost sold out. This is a fabulous slip/chemise. I highly recommend!! It runs large–size down.

As of yesterday, Bellevue Anthropologie had a bunch of the Falling Ribbon Cardigans in M and I believe there was an XS hanging around as well. No second markdown yet. There were a few Pleated Pencil Skirts there too…don't remember specific sizes, but I know there was a 2 in the taupe. And for anybody still looking for the wind-rippled tee, there were two larges in grey and teal. Spotted a Twisted and Tether Cardigan in S, Dark Grey. As for dresses, they had lots of the Burgeoning Latitides, Sun Dots, and Fragmented Pipevines. Also saw some of those belts with the three flowers on the front.Also hit up the downtown Seattle Anthro but the sale section was pretty MEH for me. I spotted a New Academia Skirt in a size 4, Sparkle Hoodie in XS, Fireside Cardi in XS, Amarena Sweater Dresses in all colours (all smalls). LOTS of the Snipped & Stitched Tanks in all sizes. And tons and tons of pants. If you're looking for pants, give them a call because they might have it.

Lauren S.-I called CS twice, at the beginning of this & last week, about the Two-Wheeler dress and both times I was told that only the U.Village location had it in stock & they had 5 of the sz.0 in stock. I didn't see the dress on the floor last weekend & the SA I asked had not seen the dress before so I can only guess that they have yet to pull it from the back & place the dress on the floor. Lauren – Ann Taylor Loft has a tank right now that is very similar in concept to the Deletta Necklace Tank. It's called the "Flower Necklace Tank." There's a white one with pink flowers, but it seems to be sold out online. I did see it in my local Bridgeport store a few days ago, though. @JennaLynn, is April 2009 when Anthro updated their site? I think the reviews link works best for items from thereafter, though I've just done a quick test of some random items from the January through March 2009 catalogs, and occasionally it'll work.
Anthro just pushed a site update on Tuesday. And boooo-urns to it breaking some of our tricks!

Lauren and anon regarding the two wheeler shirtdress – the store inventory will show items that are not only currently *in* the store at the time, but are on its way to the store. In a couple of very rare cases I've seen items pop up in the inventory 2 weeks prior to arrival at the store,also, I can't say how all stores operate, but inventory is typically put out as soon as it is unpacked and tagged. It is not in the best interest of the store to merely sit on inventory! And it would be a huge mistake to tell a customer they don't have something when they do it's just in the back. Actually, when I purchased my two wheeler shirtdress, it was around 12 and had just arrived that morning. I was being rung up and asked about the dress I'd seen on the website and they rushed to go get me my size as well as show me all of the other new arrivals from that morning!

Regarding the Two Wheeler Dress…The Columbus, OH store had about 5 of them on the floor yesterday and I noticed several on the fitting room rack to be re-stocked. For me, it did not fit tts. I grabbed a 12 and I was swimming in it so I sized down to a 10. If you've tried the Reed Shirtdress, I have that in a 12 and I could probably stand to size up to a 14 as it is tight across the bust.HTH.

I saw several Snow Covered Fields Dresses today for those looking for them at the Princeton NJ store. I saw about 4-5 and at least 2 size zeros. Store number is 609-452-0550. I also saw several Fifth Form Shifts at the Short HIlls NJ store on Thursday.

anon @ 10.10pm…unless it was sold (i'd be surprised if it did–it was sitting in the same place for the 45 min i was in the store, but i guess anything is possible!), the SA might not have noticed it–it was on the rack outside the dressing room/closet right next to the sale section but i guess not technically in the sale section.hope that makes some sense!
I'm just impressed that 5th Ave answered their phone this late at night!!
good point, roxy! though not entirely surprised–on a whim, i called soho once at 8am to see if my hold i forgot to pick up from the day before was still available and was shocked that they picked up. those are some hardworking SAs, stay late/arrive early!
When I called, the SA checked everywhere in the sale section and the dressing room area. I just wanted to post this info so that the store doesn't get a number of calls from gals looking for the same thing. She even said she was looking for the same dress for someone, probably also a blog reader, 5 minutes before I called so I really don't know. Maybe someone physically there purchased it right before it closed. Bummer. Thanks for the info anyway 🙂
Lauren S.-Not sure if you've already been, but U. Village just got in their shipment of the Two-Wheeler Shirtdress today & it's out on the floor. Their sales area was cleaned out & tiny! I'm hoping that it's a sign!

All sort of OT but has anyone else had issues with the zipper on the horizon line dress. I have gotten 2 dress and both had issues with the zipper coming away from the dress. I am just wondering if it was just a streak of bad luck or an issue many are seeing.
Brenda — BEAUTIFUL dress! I love that fabric, much prettier than the Anthro one, IMO. I just wish it came in a pastel spring color like lilac or light pink, etc. I've already got a white dress. =(
Thank you for the tip, Muse! I am usually a 7.5 and rarely an 8 but I heard these run small. I definitely would worry the 8.5 would be too big. I am disappointed to see the price gouged so much on ebay, too! I will keep an eye out for your size too.
