As I mentioned yesterday these markdowns are only expected in East Coast states affected by the weekend snowstorm, with the rest of the country to follow suit early next week or perhaps later this week based on comments. My hope is that the markdowns spread sooner and show up online quickly! But for those along the I-95 corridor please report back if you see markdowns in-store. I will check in mid-day if I have an update. Happy in-store hunting!
If anyone sees Falling Ribbon on sale in a store, I would love to know. Not seeing any new sale items online. :_(
I definitely want to know if the Verite dress shows up on sale!! If anyone sees it, please post the store location here so I can call for it. Although it wasn't on the list, if the Cafe Creme ruffle skirt shows up on sale, that's another one I'd love to pick up.
ahhh that would be soo unfair if they only have it in part of the country, what about people who can't drive, sale prices should be for everyone *crying*
I'm in the DC area and just bought the Tick Tock cardigan a week ago. I know my store doesn't have any in, so can I still go to the counter and try to get a price adjustment?
sarah, if this markdown list is accurate I'm still not sure that it will be consistent in Anthropologie's inventory system. I would wait or call first before trekking to the store.
woohoo i'm totally going to try and sneak out of work to stop by the soho store this morning.
When I went to buy my sale items yesterday at my store in Reston, VA, the sale prices were not in the system yet. The SA had to override the system. sara — the store in Reston had some Tick Tock cardigans at the same price. I'm not sure where you are in DC, but the Reston store should be able to do the price adjustment. If not, next week all the stores will get the sale and the sale prices will show up in the system.
Roxy — I forgot that I do have the prices for the Amarena dress and the Unexpected Treasures Cardi because I bought them yesterday. Amarena dress is $99.95 and cardi is $59.95.
FYI i just called the soho store to see if they could hold the thousand tiers dress for me today if it was on sale…but it was stlil $188. Not sure if maybe they weren't marked down yet, or if they're just not on sale.

Yey, thank you so much for this post! I was able to call and get a tick tock cardigan shipped to me – she said she'd have to check the markdown sheet but she was pretty sure it would be $49.95. This was per the Rockefeller Center store. I'm so happy, I have been wanting that cardigan! 🙂
I'm not sure about what is going on in the east coast, and while yes they may get earlier markdowns today. Markdowns will still occur this week for the rest of the country.
The comment in your post about markdowns only being applicable to East Coast stores is not true. I work at an Anthropologie in California, and we are getting ready for markdowns later this week.

according to the SA i spoke with on the phone at rockefeller, falling ribbon cardi is still full price? did get teh the tick tock and cascading tulle cardis on sale though…according to soho SA, markdowns are actually taking place tomorrow?? did put a bunch of stuff on hold though under that assumption..hmmm…either the SAs were not up to date on their info or i'm getting some conflicting info!
Just wanted to give people an update…I called the store closest to me in VA and asked if the Tick Tock cardi had gone on sale. At first she tried to trick me and said no, that it still said full price online so they had to charge full price. Then I told them I had called another store in VA and it was on sale 49.99 there (which I did right before, just didn't want to drive that far). She then had me hold and all of a sudden, it was on sale and she told me I could get a price adjustment.
does anyone who works at a CA store know if those same items roxy listed will be on sale, or more? And if so, would it be the friday after Christmas or when? Thanks. 🙂
Just left the soho store. No big markdowns. They had a bunch of stuff marked down by 10$ like the plaza cardigan for 118 instead of 128.
And does anyone know anything about the Stained Glass Top being on sale soon? Ive been waiting for that I love it!!! Much appreciated!
I saw the Stained Glass Top at the Rockefeller store for $40. It's very cute and would have gotten it, but I've been buying too much stuff for myself!!

Just left Milwaukee store. They are still marking down items people have listed above. They have tick tock cardis in s,m, l. Had SA check price bc it wasn't marked and it was 49. Ornaments, candles, gifty things all on sale for 30-50% off.
I spoke to a SA last evening and she said the markdowns are effective 12/23, but may break sooner. That is tomorrow.
Wow, this is so confusing! I wonder why they would start with the East Coast first -typically they do them company-wide all at the same time from what I've learned. Kim — my SA told me that the sale started early where I am (on the East Coast) because of the storm last weeend. Virginia lost about two days of sales because of the storm. I didn't see the Verite dress, but the Tick Tock and Unexpected Treasures Cardis were on sale.
I just called my store out here on the west coast and was told that they were doing markdowns today.
In Austin I heard markdowns (tag sale) starts on thursday. I went by store yesterday and tables with home items are already set out and clothing is being set up for sale. Will update after I go by today.
Just went by the Tucson store. Home stuff was out on tables in front, along with racks and racks of clothes pulled from the sale room , which was empty. Four SAs were talking about markdowns and planning. Looks like tomorrow will be the day. Sorry for typos and poor grammar, I'm on my phone writing this.
Jacquelyn, I just called the Tucson store! Good to know they're getting ready for the markdowns. They don't have the Eltham crop pants in brown, so I'll have to look elsewhere for them if they do end up on sale.

Diem -thanks for the update on the Tick Tock Cardi & Unexpected Treasures Cardi. The newest store near me had tons of those as well as the Verite Dress, so I think I'll make a trip tomorrow to see what's on sale.
I really hope nothing I want makes it to sales this week. Specifically, Leifsdottir's Glasshouse Dress.The Scalloped Clouds Skirt is still on my wish list, and I would be very tempted to get it should it go on sale. But seeing as how some sizes have soldout already, I don't know.Even if I can't get anything, I've had a very good month for Anthro purchases, so can't really complain.The last time I was at the San Francisco store, there were a pile of Tick Tock Cardigans, lots of smalls and mediums, but not sure about x-small.

I only saw Tied Martagon Tee on sale here @ houston. On sale for 19.95 on tag and 29.95 @ register. So they gave me the lower price.
I went in to my store in Virginia today and there was a huge sale! I got price adjustments for my great escape skirt and my tick rock cardi. They had a lot more new things on sale but I don't know their names off hand..there was the purple skirt with ruffled, that blue coat I saw on anthrohics blog, the red sweater dress, that red dress with flowers around the neckline, sorry can't remember anymore!
the shimmer stripes sweater dress was on sale at the store too. not sure by how much though.
Anyone in the DC area should DEFINITELY head over to the Rockville, MD store. Not only are all the items people mentioned on sale, but they're taking an additional 40% OFF sale items! It's great! I think it's because the store is moving to a new location in Chevy Chase next month.

Yes thanks Roxy, I was a little taken aback by the tone of Anonymous' ("anthropologie employee") comments – this is just a nice informational blog presumably for NON anthropologie employees….Okay enough of all that – I am NOT trying to incite an ongoing discussion. I have to say I am so worn out that I won't be going near the store until the 26th. I am sure there will be plenty of markdowns over the next week, but I do understand those that are looking for specific items. Happy shopping to everyone who is planning to venture out sooner. And a big thanks also to everyone for the reports.Just to comment on one thing, I have mentioned previously that Soho does $10-15 markdowns as their first cuts. I don't know why they do this but I can corroborate Anon @ 11:18 AM's comment on this. I sometimes get very excited to see something in sale there, only to discover it's now $178 instead of $188. 😉
Lots of stuff on sale in Philly, Skirted peacoat for 99 dollars, Anemone bloom cardigan was on sale 2 weeks ago for 90, didn't see any left. Painted cottage sweater was like 80, I think, Amerena for 99, Tied Martagon has been 30 for a while here. Some stuff that was already discounted had second mark downs too. Don't recall all the names, just used Roxy's links to figure out what I saw. There are 2 different styles of boots on sale also, dunno their names. The place was pretty crowded!

The store at Fashion Valley, CA had most of these markdowns in their store.

I went to the Walnut Street Anthropologie store in Philadelphia today and they were doing markdowns while I was in the store (around 3:30 PM). There seemed to be some confusion over whether these were the only markdowns for the week. I asked one employee about the Thousand Tiers Dress and she thought that it might be marked down soon because it was recently taken off of the floor. However, another employee told me that the big markdowns for the week had already been made and that the Thousand Tiers Dress wasn't on the list.
The following items were marked down today (at the Walnut Street store in Philadelphia):-Skirted Peacoat-Tick Tock Cardigan-assorted jewelry pieces (these were being marked down while I was at the register, so I didn't get a good look at which ones were on sale)The following items were NOT marked down (as of 3:30 PM on Tuesday):-Thousand Tiers Dress-Verite Dress-Falling Ribbon Cardigan-Sterling Dress
The sale prices are online now. Im not sure if they all are yet, since its 1am, but i ordered my Stained Glass top for $40 (regular $78) and a few hours ago it was still regular price.
