Email: Snowy scenes, delicate jewels

Snowglobes! With pretty things inside of them. Anthropologie gives the winter treatment to its vintage-inspired jewelry collection via an email last week. I am such a sucker for vintage jewelry so this collection has my heart aflutter. One thing I don’t get — do the items actually come in snowglobes? Or is this just for visual effect?

This is the Pessinus Garden Necklace ($32) and it’s by far my favorite in the collection. I love the way the trinkets combine to make one beautiful necklace. It has one positive review so far but no clue about whether you get the snowglobe or not! (I’m guessing not but I’m dying to know.)

The Vintage Watch ($228) is the other piece that caught my eye. Two faces, one watch? Love the idea. My Dad worked as a watchmaker during college to help pay the bills and he made something similar for my Mom. I’ve always coveted the family piece but since my Dad is out of the watch business this might be a nice substitute. The price is impulse-prohibitive though. Unless it comes with the snowman. Do you hear that Anthropologie? Snowmen drive up the value of jewelry pieces.

I don't think they do come in the snow globes (I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want my $300+ necklace dipped in water and fake snow!), but it does look like an adorable craft idea, maybe for possible handmade gifts!

I think I'm just in love with the snowglobes. They are so well-done, whoever did this collection deserves a big pat on the back.

Yesterday I read your post about the pessinus garden necklace and I was thinking "wow, I am in love with that necklace." Today I went to purchase it and it was already gone! I'm so sad. I hope that Anthro gets more of them…

Ack! I hope they get more too, or that this necklace is being shipped to stores.

I'll keep an eye out on the website. Please let me know if you do see them in stores! I don't make it down to the Boston Anthropologie store too often, but I'd be willing to conveniently time my holiday shopping around getting that necklace 🙂
