Jacket: J.Crew Washed Ruffle Collar Trench (similar here and here)
Earrings: Oneiros Drops ($32)
Sweater: Old Navy Women’s Rib-Knit Turtleneck in Lagoon ($20)
Skirt: Tiered Blueberry Skirt
Tights: Ann Taylor Loft (similar here)
Shoes: Nine West Walcott (similar here)

I could barely wait for fall to come so I could break out my Tiered Blueberry Skirt. It’s been surprisingly versatile. I previously paired it with the Soft Drapes Blouse in orange. This time around I’ve got my J.Crew trench (aka the Keegan) with a vibrant aqua turtleneck peeking out. The turtleneck doesn’t quite match the two blues in the skirt and that’s intentional. Like the tights, it pulls from the same color family that’s on the skirt.

I love the tights but unfortunately they didn’t even last one wear. I ripped them this morning on my desk. I am annoyed, only because these are a “large” and yet it took a lot of stretching to get them on. Seriously Ann Taylor Loft. I am an XS in your tops but you opposite-vanity size your tights? Luckily I found a very close match from Banana Republic.

I tried a different spot in my apartment — closer to the window, in front of my Flatiron print and my poor, neglected sewing machine. These were also the first shots with my gorillapod, which is pretty awesome. Any better?

I agree! Love the shots! I also love this outfit – I have the blueberry skirt and have had a little bit of difficulty putting outfits together with it. Love the color of the tights.

I love that skirt and how you paired it—totally goes, but not too matchy- matchy.

Great shots! And you're so darn pretty- it's awesome being able to see your smiling face with the clothes.I think the photos look fine. You'll fine through experimentation what works best for you. Are you using a remote? I will say that investing in a wireless remote for my camera was the best invention ever- made taking pictures so much easier!

Roxy, Cute photos! I love the intentional non-matchy outfit. Please please post the kind of gorllapod you've got. I want to get one. Thanks,

Anon, I got this one but in grey.Chloe, my camera is not remote-capable. 🙁 I have a Canon A630 and the only Powershot that's remote capable is the A640. LAME! And more evidence that I need an EOS already.

Hmm, I may be the only one who does not love this outfit. I really like that skirt, but I think it would look better paired with an opaque tight. I would choose a dark plum or navy. To me, that bright blue turtleneck does not go with the skirt. My favorite color top paired with that skirt is a dark reddish orange. So I guess my suggestion is, next time try pairing the skirt with a dark orange top and navy opaque tights.

Hi Anon, fair enough! I like the idea of a dark orange/navy combination. I will have to try this next time I wear the skirt.
