New arrivals: Raiding the dancer’s wardrobe

I don’t know if it’s real or imagined but I am getting a distinct dancer vibe from many of Anthropologie’s new releases. Ballet dancer specifically. This could be because it’s that time of year — my family always goes to see The Nutcracker, tights are back in a big way, tutu skirts are suddenly hot, etc. I took one year of ballet as a kid and I was pretty miserable at it; I was much better at tap and gymnastics. It’s nice to be able to play the part now even if only through clothing. What do you think?

Through-The-Lens Coat ($298)
The dancer’s top layer and a cousin
to the Elimovna Coat ($298).

Daybreak Chemise ($88)
This chemise is too cute to stay in the house.
Easy to dress up with a slip peeking out,
tights and a wrap cardigan.

Laissez-Faire Robe ($78)
When a simple cover-up is needed,
this romantic robe does the trick.

Gilia Chemise ($68)
A dress fit to be warmed up for winter
and worn out for summer.

Bordurette Tank ($98)
Sequins give the impression
of a gilded top.

Outdoorswoman Tee ($78)
A top ready to lounge around the house
or participate in weekend chores.

Rose Sachet Tee ($48)
Tiny buds adorn this versatile top.

Downpour Tee ($68)
A top that will move with you,
and the ebb and flow of the wind.

Grown-In-The-Shade Top ($68)
This shirt has an almost Pop Art quality to it.

Midnight Blues V-Neck ($88)
Simple yet elegant with a tie in the back,
I can see wearing this to a whole bunch
of different occassions.
Horizon Line Dress ($138)
With a scalloped hemline, this dress
is the very definition of sweet.

Phoenix Flight Shift ($148)
An intense color that is sure to draw eyes.
In-The-Bud Cardigan ($268)
Absolutely beautiful; with a jaw-dropping price.

Daisy Quarters Skirt ($248)
A skirt that straddles the line between
mini and not.

Naive Needlework Chemise ($78)
Come winter, this has the perfect color scheme.
Or lack thereof.
Skipping Strands Tank ($48)
The trails of ice skater’s blades form
the neckline of this tank.

Lub-Dub Socks ($29)
I wish for the gams to pull these lovelies off.

I loved the Daisy Quarters Skirt. It looks great on although I fear it's wearability might be limited. You should definately check it out.

I think you should include the Skirted Peacoat in this post! I got mine last night and I put it on and told boyfriend "I feel like a ballet dancer" funny timing w/your post 😉

That In the bud cardigan is intriguing. Why so $$$? I have not heard of Stellapop?

Do you think the Laissez-Faire Robe ($78) could be a dress?

JenLynn I hope to see it soon for an upcoming reviews post! Good to hear your endorsement.Kim it would totally be included in the dancer's wardrobe. I love the look of the coat, the fit just did not work for me at all.annie cat, Stellapop is a Philly-based design collective that utilizes local talent for the production of their designs. It's actually really cool, you can read more about them here. I completely agree that the price is hard to swallow. Anon — I have not seen the robe IRL but judging from the product shot yes I think you could easily wear it as a dress. Would be nice and comfy I'd think!

Those chemises are beautiful. The Naive Needlework slip is exactly the type of thing I was looking for in a party dress. The quality looks far superior to J Crew's knit dresses but I was wondering if any of you ladies wear these as dresses? I wouldn't want someone to wonder why I wandered into their party in my nightgown 🙂
