Ruffian working on collections for Anthropologie

Thanks to Anonymous @ 11:44 AM in this post who alerts us to an upcoming collaboration. Ruffian designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais have signed a 4-collection deal with Anthropologie, according to Women’s Wear Daily via The Cut. The first collection, called Mise-en-Scene, will hit 55 Anthropologie stores in November.

There are already a couple of items from the collection available on Anthropologie’s website including The Dress Coat ($348, above).

From the article:
Ruffian’s Brian Wolk and Claude Morais may have just introduced their spring collection, but it’s hardly R&R time for the designers. Instead, they’re busy at work on a new line, this one for Anthropologie. The duo recently signed a four-collection deal with the retailer, the first of which will land in 55 stores in November. Named Mise en Scene (“the complete aesthetic, or the gestalt,” says Wolk), the lineup features both clothes and housewares. The sartorial stuff includes a Forties-inspired camel coat, silk dresses and blouses with an original print designed by the pair, as well as hand-seamed hosiery. As for the home, there are candles produced by French firm Cire Trudon and silver degradé glasses. (For spring, Wolk and Morais are drumming up a bigger collection, one that will include bedding.)

I’m very excited about this collaboration, especially since Ruffian’s Spring 2010 collection featured flirty and feminine shapes even as many designers are moving more grrrl-animal. I wonder what their housewares will look like…

Interesting. I'm going to check this out. This is a bit OT, but I thought I read somewhere that Giada DeLaurentis's husband, Todd, designed for anthropologie. Does anyone know any info on that? One of her shows had her bringing lunch to Todd at his studio and it seemed like his brother worked there, too. It was clearly a women's clothing design studio.

Hi Pamela, her husband Todd works or worked for Anthropologie, but I'm not sure if he's attached to a specific label.

Roxy-Thanks for the update. I was just curious. how fun would it be to get see the designs first and I'm SURE there is a discount involved-although I don't really think she needs it 😉
