Anthropologie accessorizes the White House

Looks like the White House is going to be a bit more whimsical for the next four years! Michelle Obama’s style has been well-documented and apparently her design sense is top-notch as well. Ms. Obama has ordered a custom settee from Vanguard Company, the company that builds most of Anthropologie’s furniture. An excerpt from the article in the Hickory Record:…

ANTHROPOLOGIE TAG SALE QUICK PICKS + EXTRA 30% OFF SALE

Email: No Necklace Required

I guess the rumors are true: the statement necklace is falling out of fashion. The latest confirmation comes via Anthropologie’s latest email which highlights tops that require no jewelry added. (Well-topped tops in their words.) While I agree the shirts shows don’t really need necklaces I am not about to stop wearing necklaces. Both large and small, I love them…

UP TO 40% OFF HUNTER BOOTS — SELECT COLORS ONLY

Catharsis: Order issues

Getting to know…Frye

As I have mentioned before, Anthropologie often helps me discover new brands. A few years ago Anthro helped me discover Nanette Lepore who is now one of my favorite designers. Email: Find Your Place in the Sun

Anthropologie, you tease! Their latest email invites us all to lie about in the sun, and truly there is nothing I would love more. I love the Flower Patch Top ($88) and Bottom ($88) in this email. The model looks kind of uncomfortable though — does anyone actually lay down like that? Visit the updated Getaway section for more swim,…

Anthropologie: the social networking experience

I use Google Analytics to track visits to this blog, and recently I have been noticing visits coming from something called “Supergroups.” As much as I was hoping this was something related to superheroes, it turns out it’s where our Anthropologiette kin hang out. The member posts area hasn’t been too active recently from the looks of it, but people…

Trend: Shoes that are also boots

Here’s a trend I admit I don’t get: boots that have shoes as their bases. Case in point: Anthropologie’s Tagalong Boots (now $200). I just can’t wrap my head around this trend. And Anthro is far from the only store carrying these. Behold the Puma Ferro Boots ($375) which make me disappointed that the name “Ugg” was already taken. I…
