Ever felt like you had a style twin? Someone who owns many of the same items you do and seems to wear them around the same time? That’s just how I feel about Anjali, the wonderful and stylish mind behind goldenmeans. After more than a year of joking about it we got our project management minds in gear and picked 5 items we both own to showcase in OOTD looks. We each stuck to our own style and the goal here is to illustrate how one item can fit into two different styles. One new OOTD twin outfit will run from now through Thursday, alternating between Effortless Anthro and goldenmeans. This collaboration joins similar features in the community like Little Girl, Big Closet‘s Friends in High Places series and the Traveling Mullany feature on In Pursuit of Pretty Things.
Day 1: The Breezy Ride Cardigan (aka the Breezy Polkas Cardigan).
In Anjali’s outfit:
It was preppy love at first sight for me when I saw the Breezy Polkas Cardigan in-store! Something about the components of this cardigan, from the darling little bow to the small coin pockets on the front told me to pair the navy version of this cardi with jeans. As I so often do, I fell back on a tonal look here by mixing shades of blue. The shiny blouse underneath adds some visual depth to keep me from looking like a blue blob.
I owe a huge thanks to Alana, who sold me the Tiger’s Eye Necklace earlier this year. It has a turquoise chain and a few turquoise beads which made it a great option for this outfit. It’s such an eye-catching piece that I can’t wear it too often but it always draws compliments when I do. A pair of sky-high heels finish off this look. I don’t know when prep will come back into style but let there be no doubt that it’s my natural look. I’ve previously worn the red version of the cardigan here, and the grey version of the blouse in this look.
