This is the Madewell promo I’ve been waiting for! I use this promo for so many reasons: to shop for myself (of course) and try on items Madewell doesn’t stock in-store. I also take advantage of this promo to start shopping for holiday gifts! (I know, it’s so early, sorry to even mention it lol!)
I could easily buy half of Madewell’s entire product line. I just love the way their items mix and match! You can rely on high quality products when you buy from Madewell. Also, I’m on their customer feedback panel and they recently announced a commitment to shoring up sizing to make it more consistent from product to product — so exciting!!! We probably won’t see evidence of this til Spring, but in the meantime I might buy everything.
Ok, not everything. But I do plan to spree during this promo! Let’s talk about what’s good at Madewell right now.
If you’ve never shopped at Madewell before, you may wonder where is a good place to start. Madewell is known for its jeans, especially the Cali Demi Boot Cut Jean that tends to flatter any body shape, size or height. Their Emmett Wide Legs are also wonderful, and I hear great things about their new Curvy line. So if you want to use this promotion to dip your toes into the wonderful world of Madewell, denim is a fantastic place to start.
Madewell is also known for its leather jackets, specifically its Washed Leather Motorcycle Jacket. I own that jacket in two colors. What makes it so special? It’s buttery soft leather at a lower price point than you’d usually find and the fit is exceptional. There is something about the cut of this jacket that drapes so, so well! Unfortunately the jacket is excluded from this promotion. However, I still feel it’s a great value even at full price. I’ve owned mine for a few years (see it on me 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 in an older color). It still looks like new and my cost per wear continues to drop because I reach for it so often! I’d wear the jacket with this top, this skirt, and this Madewell staple in English Saddle.
Personally I’ve had a bunch of shopping wins at Madewell recently. Perhaps you saw this recent outfit post? The Ribbed Knit Wrap Dress has been such a winner! I’d ordered the dress in two sizes and when I went into the store to return the large that was too big on me, several SAs competed to see who would be buying it! Likewise I can’t say enough good things about the super comfy Jess Slingback Mule. From right out of the box I wore them for several hours straight with no break-in period needed. I can stand in them, run in them, do whatever my day requests of me in them! And the leather is holding up well. Usually the toes of my shoes start wearing away after a month or so — not these! Still beautifully intact.

As I mentioned further up in the post I am shopping the October 2019 Madewell spree promo. In fact I’m placing a very large order! I know I won’t keep everything because I’m ordering some multiple sizes of items that aren’t available in any of the Manhattan Madewell stores. I’m most excited about the Button-Front Swing Dress in Grid Dot and the Bobble Cardigan Sweater. I must not be alone in that excitement because these items keep selling out! (I recommend checking Nordstrom for the dress and cardigan — you’ll have to call them to request a price match. I usually place my order there first and then call to ask when buying a highly desired item. That way I know I’m getting the item even if I don’t get the price match!)
The dress is a really flattering shape and especially flattering on bustier figures like mine! Madewell knows this shape is a hit, because they offer it in multiple prints: 1 | 2. There’s also this dress which has an added ruffle just below the bustline. I’m less sure about the cardigan — I’ve never tried this shape before but I really hope it works. I ordered two sizes to try, we shall see! I like the bobble sleeves so much that I’m also ordering the sweater version in avalon pink.
Sometimes I’m inspired by seeing an item on someone else. Such is the case with the Thompson Pocket Pullover Sweater in Colorblock! I saw it on Lauren and fell in love. But I’m not sure if it will work on my dramatically different body shape. I’m optimistic! Madewell items usually fit me great once I figure out sizing.
One item I love but am not buying is the The Transport Duffel Bag. It’s not because I don’t want to — it’s only because I just purchased this beautiful Clare V. Mini Duffel during the recent Shopbop promo, and I can’t justify owning two. I know that when you think duffel bag you think large gym bag (at least I do!) but these tiny, crossbody versions are much more an everyday bag. They are so playful and fun! I’ll be talking more about this trend in the next week or two on the blog.

It's so true. Even when I don't particularly need anything I can always find something to love at Madewell, like when I have a gift card or limited-time coupon.

You can't go wrong with a Madewell coat! I don't resell my Madewell much but when I do it tends to hold its most of its value well.
I didn't have to see Madewell Fall collection to know that I will love it. and OMG their coats this year are GORGEOUS!
