This Summer has flown by for many reasons (new job, wedding, etc!). Hard as it is to say I barely have time to shop these days. And when I do, I found myself often wearing the same pieces as my new coworkers. I suppose that’s what happens when you put a bunch of stylish women in the same office. We’ve joked about it while branching out our store options so there’s less of an overlap.
And when I wear something my stylish coworkers haven’t seen before it’s a win for me. They’ll ask, “Where did you get that?” Recently the answer has been, “Walmart!” I know, I’m surprised too! But it’s true, Walmart has gotten very stylish lately. A few of my friends who designed for other stores we love have joined the Walmart team to fantastic results! On quick weekend trips I’ve completed my Summer closet and the Fall closet staples are well on the way.
Walmart has become a go-to for staples as well as trends. They’re upping their website with very customer-friendly trend pages, like their We Dress America Summer trends page. Just yesterday Alex and I were on the Coney Island boardwalk and I recognized several pieces from the Walmart We Dress America collection. One woman was rocking this trendy dress, and another was owning the boardwalk in this beautiful striped dress.
I personally have picked up this pretty floral dress. It not only looks great over swimsuits, it’s also dressy enough for parties! And how perfect are the festive accessories in the Walmart We Dress America collection? I couldn’t choose between three sets of earrings: 1 | 2 | 3 and my new wallet ready puts me in the summery mood. Summer isn’t over yet, after all!
Aren’t my sandals perfect for Summer? I wore them on July 4th to many compliments, and they are so comfy for walking around all day!
While shopping the Walmart We Dress America collection in the closest store I noticed plenty of work-ready pieces too. I ended up grabbing two new skirts for work! I adore the side button details on this lovely skirt and the length and print on this slip skirt is ultra-flattering (I got the leopard and the snake prints!).
I loved the way this trench coat draped (alas I’m overflowing with coats so I didn’t buy it until I can decide what, if anything, to purge). It would look so good with these pants and a white tee, don’t you think?
On my way to the cashiers, I stopped in my tracks when I saw this trendy striped dress. It is cute beyond words! It was on a mannequin with these sneakers and this jacket. I fell in love with the whole look! Because the dress is a juniors dress I sized up for the ideal fit. I could easily see it being available in the exact same form at a much pricier store. The dress fits like a dream and accents my curves perfectly. The sneakers are hilarious in the best way possible (such a chunky comfort heel!) and I see lots of athleisurely women rocking similar pairs around Flatiron.
Speaking of trendy shoes, there’s a very fancy I’m not much into paying $400 per pair of sneakers for, but I do like the look. Walmart has a very similar shoe in several prints for a much more digestible sub-$40 price. Items like this are great for younger people whose paychecks don’t stretch to luxury yet, or for people like me who selectively pick an choose which luxury items to buy.
