It feels like my life has been work, work, work all the time recently! Whether it’s my new job or wedding planning or whatever I’ve been busy yet fulfilled. As I’ve transitioned from a very casual office environment to a more fashion-forward setting, I’ve been having a great time evaluating my work pieces! I’m dipping back into work clothing shopping with an eye towards my day-to-day office life as well as pieces that are good for client meetings.
At the moment I split my time between my old and new jobs — as a senior exec at both, it was very important to me to smoothly transition between each role. So, some days jeans and a tee are fine and other days I want something a little dressier. This post is all about work outfits for Spring 2019 (and beyond!).
I thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the work outfit ideas I’ve put together recently, starting with a Spring transitional outfit I’ve been wearing often.
The look above is one of my favorite work outfits for Spring 2019. This work outfit has been on repeat because it works well in both of my current office environments. Also, this time of year the weather in NYC is unpredictable. It can be cold in the morning, downright hot by midday and then chilly again in the evening. Layering is helpful!
Below, I’ve put together 11 more work outfit ideas. Then, at the end of the post you’ll find my work outfit wishlist for Spring 2019. I’ve tried to make a good mix between more conservative office looks and more casual work outfits, layers or fewer layers, and address the different styles I love. Of course, everything below stays in my preppy chic aesthetic. It’s how I style effortlessly! What are you wearing to work right now?
Now that you’ve seen some of my ideas for work outfits for Spring 2019, it’s time to shop the pieces! Below, all the pieces used in the outfits above and more. I’ll have more work outfit ideas very soon!

Hi everyone! I'm having an issue with a ton of spam comments attempting to flood the blog at the moment, so I've temporarily required ALL comments to be moderated. Hoping this will only last a couple of weeks or so. Thanks for your patience!

Nice Outfits! Thanks for sharing! I have an off topic question about returning in store purchase from Anthro. I have an unworn dress which I accidentally took the tag off. Will I be able to return it back to the store if I have the original receipt? Thank you to anyone could help!
Author
Probably! I know that Free People (Anthro's sister store) generally doesn't allow returns if the tag has been removed, but I've never had that problem at Anthropologie. Anyone else have thoughts?
I am loving all the dresses and the loafer options. Totally my beat.

Yes to loafers! I am finally getting into them.

Hey Roxy, are you going to do any reviews of the Anthropologie quarterly reports anymore? I always enjoy your insights.
Have you taken a look at the Anthro May new arrivals?
Anything Gal Meets Glam is available at Nordstrom and they usually come big FYI. I noticed Anthro is carrying that brand now. Anything marked as white seems to be more ivory or cream; i'm not sure what's so hard about marking a dress CREAM. And Roxy….please continue to report on Anthropologie. I can't seem to shake them off! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?
Author
Possibly on the quarterly reports, I'm just back from a trip to Spain but will make an Anthro new arrivals post my first post back. 🙂
I noticed Nordstrom is selling a lot of brands that Anthropologie now carries. I wish they carried Maeve dresses (is this only an Anthro brand). Also, for anyone else who is a Maeve fan…..did my body change or do her dresses now fit smaller than they used to (I weigh the same…I have no idea what's going on)???
Author
Maeve has gone through a lot of back and forth. It used to be very tight on me back in 2005-2009. Then it became a better fit on me and another in-house Anthro brand, Moulinette Soeurs, took over as being very tight on me. It does look like Maeve has returned to being cut for smaller chests and fewer curves which is very disappointing. But things change from season to season so hopefully Anthro will reconsider!!
Roxy, I'm thinking of taking the plunge and buying the Madewell washed leather moto jacket later this year – do you know when/if there will be a promo that will discount it? Black Friday?
Author
Black Friday is a possibility. There's also usually one promo in August or September with no exclusions.
Every time I read a post like this, it *nearly* makes me want to work in a corporate environment again. Then I realize since I work from home, I can wear whatever the heck I want – including these pieces, if I so desire haha. They're all so cute!
