The LOFT festive promo and other promotions to shop this weekend

Each day I see the pre-Christmas promotions and I think to myself: It can’t get any better than this. And pretty much every day a new and better promo comes along that wows me! So while I won’t declare that this weekend’s promos are the best promos we’re going to see, I have to think we’re close.

For example, this weekend the LOFT festive promo offers 60% off dresses, tops and jewelry and 50% off everything else. Can it possibly get better than 60% off non-sale items?!? I really don’t know anymore. My jaw is already on the floor at this discount.

Nevermind that LOFT’s latest collection is so, so lovely. I hold LOFT to a different standard of materials and quality than say, a Saks Fifth Avenue, but within the parameters of a mid-level retailer they’re doing very well. You’ll find more acrylic and polyester here than I’d normally want in my closet. That said, several clothing and print designer friends of mine who used to work at Anthropologie now work at LOFT and I love supporting them by buying the clothing! My friends get such a kick out of it when we meet up and I’m in one of their designs.

So, what’s good at LOFT right now? Take your pick from plenty of pretty items. If you’re done gift shopping and strictly back to shopping for yourself I always recommend looking at LOFT’s excellent Wear to Work section (and I hope to get a dedicated post up for that soon!).

I have several winners in my closet from there including the Winterweave Turtleneck Sweater (now $40, above, TTS), the Flare Sleeve Sweater (now $30, I sized up for length), the Tweed Flippy Dress (now $36, TTS and definitely more of a mini than a knee-length) and the Shoulder Button Flare Dress (now $24, TTS).

There are items you’ve seen on me too like the Covered Button Down Strappy Cami  (now $20, on me here and here), the Leggings in Faux Leather (now $35, on me here and here) and my favorite necklace of the moment, the Double Layer Stone Pendant Necklace (now $17 and on me, oh I don’t know, here, here, here and here to name a few looks!). Yes, I am truly loving LOFT right now!

Many sections are 60% off among the LOFT festive promo, like dresses! This is probably the least overwhelming part of LOFT’s site because there are ‘only’ 87 items, as opposed to other sections with over 300.

In dresses you’ll find delights like the Swiss Dot Skirt Dress (now $36, above). This dress is so curve-friendly! I’ve come across it at conferences and I’m so glad I didn’t wear it today because during my company’s Board meeting one of our Directors was in it! The Wrap Dress (now $36) is another so profesh dress that can easily make the transition to after-work events or date night.

On the more casual side dresses like the Button Cuff Cowl Neck Sweater Dress (now $36) and the Leopard Sweater Dress (now $36) bring cuteness to a whole new level. I’m currently admiring the Striped Signaturesoft Boatneck Dress (now $20) which would make weekend dressing a breeze.

Skirts are not part of the LOFT festive promo 60% off deal (they are 50% off) but this seems like a natural place to mention them. A few of my coworkers are often outfit twins in the Faux Suede Shift Skirt (now $35) and it looks cute on all of them! I personally plan to buy the Wooly Pocket Shift Skirt (now $35) and the Faux Leather Zip Pocket Pencil Skirt (now $40) during this promo. I already own and highly recommend the super-sale Plaid Ruffle Skirt (now $15). Note that I went up two sizes in this skirt so I can wear it down on my hips, which is makes it almost knee-length on me! Without doing that, it’d be a nearly inappropriate mini.

 

There are a few items on LOFT’s site that make me stop my scroll every time, so clearly I need them! The Scalloped Strappy Cami (now $23, above) is a great example of this, as is the Faux Leather Zip Pocket Pencil Skirt (now $40) shown with it. The Pocket Open Cardigan (now $24) completes the above outfit. More sweater goodness is available in the shoppable boutique at the very end of this post.

All tops are 60% off during the LOFT festive promo. Beyond cute camis you’ll find plenty of fun details like swiss dots, textured dots, polka dots…all kinds of dots! There’s also pretty lace details on blouses and camis; tons of pretty velvet options and elevated basics too.

 

 

Jewelry is also 60% off during the LOFT festive promo and it deserves its own section because it’s lovely! I get so many compliments on my LOFT costume jewelry; often people think it’s designer. Pieces like the Pave Stone Pendant Necklace (now $12, above) has a delicate sensibility that add polish to any outfit. And as mentioned at the top of the post I wear my Double Layer Stone Pendant Necklace (now $17) all the time!

I don’t pretend like LOFT’s jewelry is on the level of, say, a Tiffany’s, but it is better quality than I’ve found at similar retailers. I’ve experienced no issues with tarnish or patina with LOFT’s jewelry. Mostly, it’s classic and appealing. Even when they do attempt trendier pieces like the Pave Fringe Drop Earrings (now $12) or the Marbleized Pull Through Hoop Earrings (now $12) the end result is good.

During this promo I plan to pick up the Gem Cluster Resin Drop Earrings (now $12), the Fabric Wrapped Drop Statement Earrings (now $14) and the Tortoiseshell Print Link Necklace (now $18).
