Can you keep a secret? Good, because I can’t! Free People is having an amazing contest right now! In the Free People Fall 2018 Win Your Wishlist contest some lucky duck is going to win a $1,000 Free People gift card and a travel package of your choice!

Not that I’m biased (I’m totally biased) but wouldn’t it be wonderful if someone from this community won? To help you prep, I’ve put together some of my latest Free People wishlist choices and then I hope you’ll share yours in the comments too! Let’s enter, and let’s win!!

In all honesty, even with a very generous $1,000 Free People gift card in my hot little hands, I’m not sure I could whittle down my wishlist to under $1k. There is just too much great stuff at FP right now!

No Free People wishlist is complete without dresses. The Free People Fall 2018 Win Your Wishlist contest has me thinking about all the pretty dresses! Right now, there are lots and lots of Free People dresses I’d love to own!! Day dresses. Night-out dresses. And of course, party dresses! During a recent store visit I tried on and fell in love with several dresses. I love the easily-layerable Glimmering Lights Mini Dress ($168) and Pirouette Lace Dress ($148), both of which seem ready for a moto jacket or sweater jacket over them. The Love of My Life Midi Dress ($108) comes in more colors for Winter and looks great over a turtleneck. On the Stephanie Mod Dress ($108) you’ll find a great neckline and cool pattern that works perfectly with over-the-knee boots.

Then, there are the more glam options. I’m seriously considering Temecula Maxi Dress ($250) for my rehearsal dinner next Summer. It reminds me so much of a beautiful Temperley London dress I missed out on a couple of years ago and I love the patterns! The Crystal Clear Mini Dress ($168) is in the running for New Year’s Eve. Meanwhile the Night Shimmers Mini Dress ($108) looks perfect for my friend Danielle’s annual ‘Naughty Elf’ holiday party. (But ohhhh which color to get when they’re all great??) I can’t forget to mention the stunning Essie Maxi Dress ($278), which I tried on in the copper and fell in love with. What a gorgeous dress this is — and is the trend right now, you can wear an oversized sweater over this and make it a work dress!

I have many more dress options in the shoppable boutique at the end of this post.

What pairs well with a pretty dress? This time of year, a lovely sweater, cardigan, jacket or coat of course! It’s hard to beat Free People’s sweaters. They have mastered the art of the oversized, the comfy, and the warm. As well as the ridiculous.

I can’t think of many cardigans I’d rather wrap myself up in than the Kota Belted Cardi Sweater ($650)! If I win the Free People Fall 2018 Win Your Wishlist contest consider that cardigan mine! And if not, the Phantom Cardi ($148) is a solid second choice.

Then there are Free People’s lovely, lovely coats. If anyone could make me fall for a Fitted Velvet Military Jacket ($198), it’s them! Ditto a purpleish-grey faux fur coat, a floral puffer jacket, a patterned teddy coat and an oversized striped blanket coat. Anywhere else, these words wouldn’t make sense and these products would elicit a wtf reaction. Somehow, at Free People and Free People alone it all works and makes perfect sense! Not only does it work, it looks good!

If you’re missing Anthropologie’s more fantastical coats the Out With a Bang Coat ($500), the Brooke Jacket ($228), the Songbird Patched Coat ($228) or the Prairie Rose Jacket ($498) may invigorate you! I have more coat and sweater options from Free People in the shoppable boutique at the end of this post.

Shop: Bag | Dress

To finish off my wishlist-winning look I’d love a beautiful bag (or five!) to choose from. Although Free People’s bags can range wildly in prices they have such a fantastic selection of options under $100, which I’ll focus on for this post!

The latest Free People bag to make my closet is the satisfyingly classic yet trendy Erin Top Handle Crossbody ($68). It comes in three lovely colors. I found myself most drawn to the sultry maroon in-store, but if I won the Free People Fall 2018 Win Your Wishlist contest, I’d totally buy the other two colors too. One can never have enough bag options, right?

These under $100 bags make such great gift ideas! Some of my friends and family might not buy a smaller bag on their own, but would happily accept one as a gift. I’m surprised by how much use I get out of these small to medium-sized bags! In addition to cute bags Free People has great bag accessories like tassels and such which also make brilliant gift ideas, stocking stuffers and Yankee Swap gift ideas.

There were other bags tempting me in-store too. It was a tough choice between the Erin Top Handle I bought, the Lisha Top Handle Clutch ($68, shown above in slate blue), the Mini Suitcase Croc Bag ($68, also comes in a snakeskin pattern) and the Charlotte Top Handle Crossbody ($58). Which of these bags would you choose in my shoes?

The truth is, it would be overwhelming to try to cover my myriad of wishlist items in one post! We haven’t even touched on jewelry, bras, intimates, or shoes and boots here! So, I invite you to take a look at this recent Free People post where I covered some of those options, and come back on Friday for the possibility of a very special FP promo.

In the meantime, you can also check out Free People’s extra 25% off sale promo this weekend! Or peruse the November collection. Or get a jump on your Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa shopping with Free People’s extensive gift guide. What items would you use your $1,000 gift card on if you win the Free People Fall 2018 Win Your Wishlist contest?

Yeah, I just took a look at my wishlist, and $1000 won't go far at Free People, ROFL. But I'd be happy to win it all the same! I would probably get a suede jacket and a pair of boots ( something like Bed Stu or Old Gringo, which either keep on at full price or sell out before I can afford them). The kind of things I keep on my wishlist in hopes that they will get discounted enough for me to be able to buy them. I do hope someone in this community wins!

One word of warning about the Temecula dress – it 's completely sheer, and has a sewn-in partial lining of a very short boy short unitard, which means that you can't get any other kind of slip under it unless you cut out the unitard. I considered it, but the fabric of the dress seemed too delicate to handle having the lining cut out. I returned it. In fact, I found the fabric so delicate that I probably would have returned it even if it had no lining. If you're only using it for a one-time event, it might be worth the chance.

On a slightly different topic, the 25% sale is a little over a week away? What is everyone getting?

Oh no! So sad about the Temecula Dress! ??‍♀️

I think the 25% 4 hour sale is a week away. I’m basing that on last year, when the Friday night they picked was the weekend before Thanksgiving rather than Black Friday. Two years ago the sale was on Black Friday.

Feel free to discuss picks for that here, and I will have a post for it the Friday it’s happening (so long as there is enough advance notice).

I second the thumbs down on the Temecula dress. I LOVED it online but when I got it, I knew it would be impossible to wear with the unitard underneath. And the mesh fabric seemed so fragile. It’s beautiful but so impractical for me at least.

Oh my, I do love FP ❤ great picks Roxy.
This may be a silly question but does anyone know if Anthro is going to add more holiday items to their stock or is what is available in store and online all they're planning to carry? There was a lovely holiday candle I bought last Friday and I'm hoping they'll bring it back but it's not on their site 🙁

    • November 12, 2018 / 7:44 am

Anthropologie does lots of mini rollouts now rather than one big one, so it's totally possible that the candle hasn't made it online yet but will. Sometimes they do have in-store only collabs though it seems fewer and fewer these days.

Thanks for this post Roxy! I entered the contest. Fingers crossed!! I bought a few things in the extra 25% off sale promo. Please make these your affiliate links.

I live in Arizona where it’s hot pretty much year round and I’m short. The Sweet Thing Skirt Suit reeled me in http://bit.ly/2QxSkUU

I decided the Vivian Bucket Bag would look good with the set http://bit.ly/2PrZ0Yh

I’d been waiting for the Desert Daisy Maxi Sundress to go under $100. I took the plunge! http://bit.ly/2QBbN76

Would like to hear what others got. Can’t wait for their 4-hour sale.
