Anthropologie Now $98 promo for October 2018 :: Effortlessly with Roxy

Seems like just yesterday that we were talking about Anthropologie’s October 2018 new arrivals and now here I am again with another Anthro post so quickly because, well, the selection is pretty good in the Anthropologie Now $98 promo! They’ve temporarily marked down a bunch of dresses, some jewelry and a few pairs of shoes to $98 which in some cases is akin to the 40% off we usually see come sale time.

It’s not the sitewide promo I was hoping for yet there are some great pieces worth highlighting. First, I took a chance on the Matinee Sweater Dress (now $98) in rose with my survey discount. It’s lovely in real life! I’d say this dress runs big; I purchased a medium and I’m tempted to trade it in for a small because it’s quite roomy up top. I’m taking styling inspiration from this outfit on my Street Style Pinterest board from Mary Orton. (As you know I already own the jacket, on me: 1 | 2.)

I’m pairing the dress with both the Donna Hooped Drop Earrings (now $28) in rose, playing on Anthro’s tone on tone styling trend that’s been in my arsenal too and the Amelie Octagon Hoop Earrings (now $28) in holly to pull the teal out of the jacket. You could argue that $28 is still a lot to pay for resin. True, but it’s much better than this $118 pair that made me laugh out loud when I saw them at the Rockefeller Center Anthropologie (NYC) yesterday. Please don’t spend $118 on resin earrings that probably cost $5 to make.

I’m sitting on a few promo items in my cart, like the Pilcro Classic Shirtdress (now $98) above in moss. The Parson Wrap Dress (now $98) also looks pretty cute as does the Avis Embroidered Shift Dress (now $98), which will probably hit sale at $120 right after this promo is over.

Below, all my picks for the Now $98 promo at Anthropologie. Prices below are mixed; some items are showing the discount and some are not but Anthro’s site is properly reflecting. You can see all the promo items here.

      Not a bad deal either.

Great sale I have that Pilcro shirtdress in black from the other twenty percent off promotion and I love it, it's TTS and very soft.

    • October 12, 2018 / 3:11 pm

I just tried on the pink today! It is nice and soft, though shorter than I expected.

Lots of tempting things in this sale. I'm eying the Archival Dress by Maeve, but not sure which size to get, there are no reviews. If anyone tried it, could you comment if it's TTS or running small vs. large (particularly in the waist and bust)?

Hmm I have not seen it Anna but hopefully someone else can help.

Thanks! As I was debating which size to get, the dress nearly sold out in my preferred color, so I ended up getting the one size that was still available, hope it works 🙂

I love promos like this! Unfortunately, even though I definitely agree that the selection here overall is strong, there doesn't happen to be anything I'm really dying for. But I hope Anthro–and other retailers (looking at you, Boden!) does this kind of promo again.

    • October 12, 2018 / 3:12 pm

I'd love it if Boden did this! For Anthro I'm hoping their next promo is sitewide. (And includes Free Shipping, no minimum.)

https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/talese-wide-le… Hi Ladies, the Talese wide legs are $15 right now and lots of sizes in the cherry pattern. I think they run one size small. They are not showing up on the regular sale page, so I gave the link.

Thank you for letting us know gladmama!

It would be a good promo but, for those of us that live in Canada, it really isn't worth it once we pay duties and shipping. I am not sure why they do these online only promos when they have plenty of stock in store. I will definitely be giving this a miss. Again, Anthro disappoints.

    • October 12, 2018 / 3:14 pm

lulu I cannot agree with you more, no matter where you are located. I placed an order yesterday morning and then went to a couple of the local Anthropologies in NYC to pick up some items for personal shopping clients. I had three pairs of earrings from the promo with me at the cash wrap, and they refused to honor the promo!

The SA was somewhat apologetic — she and the manager didn't even know about the online promo — but said they were unable to honor the promo. I was so mad I left the store and decided against doing the rest of my Anthropologie pickups. My clients all agreed. We left nearly $2,500 on the table. Your loss, Anthro. Don't play these kind of games.

Oh no Roxy what a bummer that happened at the store like that, sheesh they didn't even know their own promo. I guess the online sale is strictly just that then but I always thought the store and online sales were concurrent. I guess that's changed? I can't blame you for deciding to just leave without purchasing, that's a lot of money Anthro could've made.

        • October 13, 2018 / 1:21 pm

Thank you Jess, I very much appreciate your support! You are right that this promo is online only which in hindsight I did not see, however, what poor customer service to not honor the promo in-store…it just felt awful. Like I'd done something wrong trying to shop there!

Of course! That's just not right at all, they should've absolutely honored your request for a discount. I visited the Palo Alto Anthro today and they were handing out these little discount cards for twenty percent off so I bought a pair of Pilcro cords I had my eye on but I wouldn't have bought it unless it was on sale.

This is an interesting promo. I love sweater dresses; but I'd want to see the one mentioned above in person. I also like the corduroy dress and the Eva Franco trench dress (both were on my very edited wish list). Sadly, i think that both may be disastrous in the bust area for me.

    • October 12, 2018 / 3:15 pm

It's really hard to tell these days, and many of Anthro's dresses have been cut small in the but. The Matinee Sweater Dress worked out well for me but I hear you!

I saw free returns on the shoes too. That's new. But only on some of them! Such inconsistent policies, Anthro!

    • October 13, 2018 / 1:21 pm

Hmm that is weird evb. Thank you for letting us know though!

Some cute dresses included in the promo, and the price point seems fair. I usually find dresses impractical once colder weather sets in, but I grabbed the Allison sweater dress, which I love. I also recommend the Finley Plaid Dress. I was also able to combine with a 20% off code I had been saving for months, so it was a great deal. Used the store pick up feature too. I'm not positive, but it seems like my store would have honored the online price, though not 100% sure. They knew about the online promo anyway. I don't know why they would not capitalize on this in store as it would really help move the merchandise. The last promo like this was online only as well???

I have no idea why I still hold out some hope that Anthro will get back on track. I think I have such fond memories of the olden days when it was pretty much the only store that I shopped at…and I shopped a lot! Everything that they have done for the past several months seems to be with the intent of getting rid of those who supported them from the start. I really have no idea what their target audience is now. I would be happy enough to continue to shop there if they even brought back the price adjustments like most stores do. The online only promos have me completely scratching my head though.
