If your closet is feeling a little short on cool right now, Madewell is here to help you out. During the Ready, Set, Spree event you can take 20% off your $100+ Madewell purchase at 30% off purchases of $200+! The code is ONYOURMARK.
Does Madewell have some lovely items right now worth using this code on? Oh yes. There’s a huge shoppable boutique at the end of this post filled with delights. But first, Five Items to consider during the Madewell Ready Set Spree Event…
1. REGAN BOOTS
Every woman deserves at least one pair of fabulous boots in her closet — and for me, the Regan Boot is it. It’s just the right mix of classic and modern. The heel is the ideal height to simultaneously make my legs look great and yet provide a stable, non-painful walking anchor. Stretchy panels on the side allow for legs of all sizes.
No matter what angle you see the Regan from, they look great! While the boots are a bit of a splurge they are much less so than the designer boot they’re modeled after. At the end of this post you’ll find so many more great boots to choose from including low-cut booties and tall riding boots.
Shop Regan ($178-$198 before discount) in: Leather | Suede | Calf Hair
2. VELVET TUXEDO STRIPE EDITION PANTS
As a kid nothing made me happier than putting on my favorite velvet dress in the Winter. Over and over and over! That love of velvet hasn’t faded in adulthood though the practical applications may have. I’m loving the velvet trend (expect a full post on it in the next few weeks) and all the ways I can wear it now.
How about this great idea: marrying the comfort of your favorite pair of jeans with a thick velvet stripe? That’s exactly what the Velvet Tuxedo Stripe Edition pants do and I’m in love! They’re a fine weekend pant but also elevated casual for the workday. And they make me smile. Isn’t that enough of a reason to love them?
Shop the Velvet Tuxedo Stripe Edition ($135 before discount): Blue | Black
3. THE FRENCH ROSE PRINT
Madewell and parent company J. Crew can often be counted on to produce at least one stunning print per season. For Fall 2018 that print appears to be the French Rose print. From a top that looks great under dresses to dresses that layer well or stand on their own, I’m delighted! A beautiful mix of red, pink and white appears to be falling down a black base. How very Fall-appropriate!
You don’t just have to pick one item — I won’t tell if like me, you end up buying this print in multiple items.
Shop the French Rose print ($98-$158 before discount): Top | Mini Dress | Shirred Midi Dress | Apron Slip Dress (above)
4. THE COMFIEST SWEATERS
I have to admit I’m having the hardest time paring down the many comfy sweaters for my Five Items to consider during the Madewell Ready Set Spree Event. There are multiple great choices! I suppose it will depend what your style is in the end.
For me, the top choice might be the Balloon-Sleeve Pullover Sweater ($88 + up to 30% off, above in ivory). The slightest balloon sleeve gives this sweater a very playful feeling without tipping into clown territory. The sweater is so warm and seems tailor made for snowy Winter days!
On the more sophisticated end you’ll find the Square-Neck Pullover Sweater in Coziest Yarn ($88 + up to 30% off), a soft and shedding sweater in the faintest pink. There’s also the Wrap-Front Pullover Sweater in Coziest Yarn ($80 + up to 30% off, also in Donegal) which has appealing styling options from bringing the wrap concept to a sweater.
Which sweater would you pick? More options in the shoppable boutique at the end of this post.
5. THE WASHED LEATHER MOTORCYCLE JACKET
Normally, I am all about seeking a less expensive option whenever possible. These days most clothing items are so similar in quality that price points seem inflated the higher you go. No one likes that!
Yet occasionally an item comes along that is so worth it quality and lookswise that I’ll happily plop down a higher price for the enduring happiness I know the item will bring me. Such is the case with the Washed Leather Moto Jacket ($498 and sadly excluded from the promo). I wear mine so much and even when it’s not my choice of the day I smile when I see it in my closet. I own it in red which is no longer available (see it on me here in multiple OOTDs) but this Fall Madewell has introduced a new color, brown.
Now I know I said that this jacket is excluded from the promotion. But I’ll let you in on a little secret that I’ve done for several personal shopping clients now. If you place a generously-sized order as one is apt to do during this kind of promotion, and then when it arrives, go in and ask the store to apply the discount on this jacket, they’ll nearly always say yes.
In 7 tries I’ve only gotten one no. This is not guaranteed of course but well worth the shot if you’d like to save nearly $150 on this magnificent moto jacket. And if you’re super patient, Madewell usually includes it in one promotion per year.
You’ve seen my Five Items to consider during the Madewell Ready Set Spree Event. But there are so many more goodies to choose from! Don’t forget to check out Madewell’s chock full sale, which is included in this promotion too. Below, a huge boutique filled with delights up to 30% off. (And a few items that are so good, I included them even though they’re excluded.)
Oh how I love Madewell and hooray the velvets are making their way into the stores, also I'm loving the discount right now so I'm definitely taking a look, thanks for this post Roxy!

You're welcome Jess! If you end up ordering I'd love to know what you pick.
I myself am leaning towards the Apron Slip Dress (but can't decide between the solid and the french rose version in the post), the Enamel Rainbow Boho Necklace and the Grayson Chelsea Boot in Velvet.
Will do Roxy and those are nice choices especially that Apron Slip Dress, I really like how sleek it is and the color.
Nice to see the Transport line included when it was excluded for so long.

Agreed! Too bad third party and leather items are not included, wah wah.
Have you asked the store to honor the promotion for third party items ?

I haven’t, but it’s worth a shot!

I don't think I'll be able to make a post for it, but did want to mention that Free People is doing 50% off select leather jackets, blazers, dresses and tops today. LOTS of my wishlist stuff made it to this promo!
Here are my picks: https://effortlesslywithroxy.com/take-50-off-sele…
I recently treated myself to the washed leather motorcycle jacket after admiring it for 2+ years, and I love it. I never, ever spend this much on a single item of clothing (even with a couple birthday gift cards from generous family members) but I agree it's worth the money quality and looks-wise. In the 2+ years I admired it, I bought a couple of similar fake leather versions in the $100 range; I should have just saved up the money for the one I really wanted.
I have had this (in black) for a couple of years and love it. Honestly, it is great quality and for me the fit was spot on. As Roxy mentioned, I was able to get a discount (my daughter came with me and they got a student discount)

It's one piece Madewell really, really got right.
Thanks! I just received my 10" high-rise skinny jeans in the mail yesterday! Without your post I wouldn't have known about the promo. Quick phone call and they refunded me the difference!
This is my second pair of Madewell 10" high-rise jeans — one in black and one in the Hayes wash. I just turned 49 and these hold me in in all the right places, are super comfortable, and no muffin top. It's a win-win situation.

Woohoo! That's awesome Sarah. I also love the 10" high rises — best fit I've found for me. For whatever reason (curvy butt maybe? I dunno) my rise is really long, and many jeans are too short in back for me.
