Work picks from the LOFT June 2018 new arrivals :: Effortlessly with Roxy
Shop: An easy blazer that looks great over anything

Does anyone else feel like it’s become harder and harder to find good work clothing? As ever more women’s stores have turned their focus towards casual and jet-setting, they’ve lost touch with a key role that many women play: office superstar. Or perhaps stay-at-home Mom superstar, who still wants to look somewhat professional on the daily.

Luckily, LOFT has not lost the plot. In fact they’ve been emphasizing their workwear a lot this year! I’ve found so many great casual office pieces there to round out my work wardrobe. Even better? Today LOFT is offering 40% off your entire purchase! Use code NEWNOW. With tons of new arrivals to choose from I’ve rounded up a bunch of my favorite work/crossover items that I love at LOFT.

There are so many great work picks from the LOFT June 2018 new arrivals! From cardigans to combat the office A/C to longer skirts that flatter beautifully, I appreciate the simple details that make LOFT’s items so great. I really like the Striped Button-Down A-Line Skirt (now $48) above. The buttons are shiny and a great detail on a very flattering skirt.

LOFT also brings back items from year-to-year, often quietly with no fanfare. The Ribbed Sweater Shell (now $27) seen here is already in my closet since last Summer and I’m delighted to see it in additional colors. I get more styling ideas for it! You’ll see it again in another look further down in the post. Other returning items I highly recommend include the Textured Open Cardigan (now $30), the Denim Shorts in Rinse Wash (now $30) and the Dot Striped Split Sleeve Tee (now $24). I wear all of these pieces to work often!

Of note, with just a bit of imagination you can also find plenty of pieces for more formal offices. Throw a lightweight cardigan over the outfit above and you have a work outfit ready for any office! LOFT has tons of great blazers among my work picks from the LOFT June 2018 new arrivals too. I’ve really been enjoying my pink Softened Blazer (now $77) and I have my eye on the Chambray Blazer (now $71).

There are lots and lots of great camis to be found at LOFT. Aside from the striped shell shown above, I’ve been getting great mileage from my Covered Button Strappy Cami (now $24, OOTD)! I have many more camis and shells in the shoppable boutique at the bottom of this post.

As the temperature rises I reach for my pants and jeans less and less. However, they’re often required at work. This is another area where LOFT comes in very handy. With two fits (Marisa and Julie in pants, Modern and Curvy in jeans) I know that I’ll find bottoms that fit my body perfectly. Right now I’m rocking the Curvy Frayed Skinny Crop (now $42, seen above in Modern) quite a bit. The pants look amazing with heels and wedges but also do well with flats and loafers.

LOFT has tons of great lightweight pants like the Girlfriend Chinos (now $36) that come in a bunch of colors. And if you love white pants but hate see-through, try either the Rivieria Pants (in Marissa or Julie) or the wonderful Skinny Jeans in white (in Modern and Curvy). These white options are bright, crisp and not sheer. That’s why their among my top work picks from the LOFT June 2018 new arrivals.

If you work in a casual and fashion-forward office like mine, an outfit like the one above is perfect for Fridays! I love the Pocket Wrap Skirt (now $36) and highly recommend ordering the tall version online. The lone review notes this skirt is sheer but I have not found that to be the case for me.

Below, you’ll find more of my work picks from the LOFT June 2018 new arrivals! From blazers to dresses to tops and shoes and jewelry, there’s tons to love at 40% off today at LOFT. Finally, check out my last post all about LOFT’s workwear!

Finding work wear is so hard these days! I need true business/business casual clothes, but what’s being marketed as “work wear” at a lot of stores is not dressy enough – I think it reflects increasingly relaxed office dress codes.

I hear you Laura, my last position was at a VERY formal company and aside from suits it was hard to find truly office appropriate items, especially skirts that truly hit across my knees and tops with enough coverage to conceal bra straps. It's hard out there! I still like Theory's stuff a lot though I have no need for workwear that formal any longer.

I work in a more formal office and theory is my go to generally although Hugo boss has some nice items also.

Very tempted by the cotton split sleeve t-shirt for me. Love the details!

The Julie has been a staple for my sis with her petite hourglass figure, both for work and casual. The last few years, they mostly came in skinny which she doesn't like and doesn't suit her, so she ordered less. Hopefully they'll issue more straight leg and wide legs for that style, and in colored cotton-blends.

I still use my Zara studio suiting from a few years ago, which still looks modern and fresh and fits perfectly. But I haven't ordered from them in over a year since the quality and fit seem to have gone. I do get bored with the permanent vacation look absolutely everywhere, with only a few brands still doing office wear, and sometimes very boring at that.

I work in an office that requires actual business attire and it's become really hard to find. I can't wear above the knee skirts, skinny pants, cutesy prints, or sleeveless tops (and it can get warm in my office so I don't want to have to layer a blazer). Loft has cute things, but mostly too casual for my workplace.

OT: I was in Anthropologie this morning and a SA told me the tag sale was starting this Thursday. I know in the past they've refused to tell people when it started, so I was kinda surprised. She wasn't acting like this was some insider info either. They had a sign at the cash wrap with the new return policy starting July 9: refund within 60 days, store credit after 60 days, and "certain categories" like BHLDN will not be returnable to stores.

Thanks for posting about the new return policy at Anthro. I had not heard about this!

I agree that too many of the skirts are too short – and I'm only 5'4"!! I've had to pass on so many gorgeous patterns over the past few years because I could not bend over in them. Wish they made skirts in tall so that those of us who would like a little length can have that option.

Agreed. I'm also 5'4" and even for non-work purposes, so many of the cute skirts are just too short for my taste and lifestyle. I have a little kid to chase after and I can't be worried about flashing people when I bend over, etc.

Thanks for sharing! Does it mean new markdowns coming Thursday?

She didn't give any details, it was just "you should come by Thursday for our tag sale, only happens twice a year" but I would expect the usual large set of markdowns to kick off the tag sale.

There have been so many changes lately that I have no idea if they're intentionally hyping up the tag sales now, or if it's still supposed to be hush-hush and this particular SA was going "off script."

Roxy! (and other Boden lovers( Boden Fall preview is up! What do you think?
    http://www.bodenpreview.com/en-us/womens-view-all

I was very surprised to see the velvet and Christmas items bunched in with fall preview. Also, a lot of their usual items, like the Martha dresses and cardigans are MIA. It's an odd mix of stuff, but there is a LOT to love. I'll be placing my first preorder in years.

I didn't see anything I really liked except maybe that backwards cardigan and the satin skirt. The colors are so murky and I'm still into summer clothes right now.

I so wish I could go to a store and try on all these beauties! I order from Boden occasionally but would spend a lot more if I could try on first and not have to deal with the hassle of a mail-in return.

They used to have trunk shows and it was SO awesome. Someone would host it, and they would have a ton of samples at their house to look at and try on. I used to buy so much more from Boden when they had trunk shows. Wish they would bring those back!

Boden women's is now available in select Nordstrom stores too! Not the presale stuff but their current line.

Oh cool! I'll have to check them out. I love their summer stuff, their winter not so much. Anthro I usually prefer their fall over any other season. But I'm really liking all their summer clothes this year. I've bought a lot. Though I have returned a lot for one reason or the other.
