Destination Guide: Boyne Highlands

This is a guest post! Please join me in welcoming Steph of Trendy in Indy!

Hello all! Today, I have the opportunity to share an awesome winter getaway with you to Boyne Highlands. My name is Steph and I am the creator behind Trendy in Indy, an influencer focused on teaching and inspiring through fashion, beauty, and travel.

First, let me tell you that my family chose to make a memory for Christmas this year instead of exchanging gifts, hence our trip to Boyne Highlands. At Boyne I had my first experience skiing. My mom grew up skiing and at 67, she has no fear hopping off the lift and heading for a black diamond.

Boyne Highlands is a ski-in, ski-out resort which was convenient for me as a first time skier. When I needed a break, the lodge was right there with snacks and drinks at all times. We dined a couple of times at the Slopeside Lounge and each took our turn winning a round of 31 or Euchre.

Find out more about what to do and where to eat at Boyne Highlands in my full blog post on Trendy in Indy.

This is totally OT, but I have two Anthro 20% off full-price item codes.
    Here's the first one: N64BH6M5PBR
And, here's the second one: N64HPFAH22G

Here's the fine print: *Enjoy 20% OFF your next full-price purchase. One-time, non-transferable offers redeemable online or in US or Canada stores through 2/28/2018, 11:59 p.m. PT. Excludes BHLDN, Terrain, employee purchases, sale items, previous purchases and the purchase of gift cards. Cannot be combined with other offers. If redeeming online, enter code at checkout. If redeeming in-store, present card at register.

And, ugh–what did you all think of February's pre-shop? I thought the clothing offerings were the worst ever. Having said that, I haven't looked at any of the non-preshop new arrivals. For all of our sakes, I hope they are better . . .

I forgot to add, please let others know if you use any of the codes. And lastly, apologies to Roxy and Steph for posting off-topic. Thanks for the great post, Steph!

I agree – Feb. pre-shop was the worst ever. It wasn't even that it was bad, it was just completely nondescript. Utterly forgettable.

That having been said, there were a few items I tried on in-store that I've put on my wishlist – to wait for sale, of course. Nothing I've seen is calling to me full-price. This lace dress is really pretty, and soft, too:… This skirt is fun:… and so is this cardi/jacket… I like this Michael Stars tee for a basic – I already have the solid black, and it just fits me perfectly:

I also like this dress and sandals, but I need to see them in person first:

Still carrying on in the vein that there are still a few nice (but not stunning) pieces but you really have to hunt for them. There is also too much summer – I'm not even interested in spring at the moment!! I am not seeing the promised turnaround at all.

Roxy – I hope that things are going well with you, and that you find a really great apartment for your mom! Miss you!

Thanks Anthropolitan! Yesterday went really well, we went on second visits to two condos, and one of them has really high potential for Mom. Nothing official to share yet and I am so exhausted but good things are happening. 🙂

And I totally agree on the February preshop — it was sad. Really really sad.

That sounds promising! I hope the condo works out, and thanks for checking in. Hugs!!

Roxy–I agree with Anthropolitan; I'm happy good things are happening for your family!

Anthropolitan–thanks for sharing; your picks are better than anything on the pre-shop page! Okay, I know that isn't saying much, but I meant it as a compliment. 🙂

Hahaha, Christina, I get it, and thanks. (A plain white bowl would have looked better than anything on the pre-shop page. 🙂 )

Agreed! I am sitting this one out. There is nothing that I even want to try on.

Pre-shop was bad for sure; I found more exciting things at Target recently tbh. However, I did find the Embellished Anorak to be AHMAZING! I used gift cards to buy it praise the Lord because the $200 price tag is steep. The embellishments and embroidery are really nice, and the fit is doing my size XL self wonders. I’m pretty excited about this jacket.

February pre-shop was very disappointing however I like some new offers like Embellished Anorak and this dress… or this dress…. With my 20%iff code I bought French knotted cardi which is 90% cotton and 10% cashmere. Plenty of shoes I like there as well. BTW A.S.98 has 50% winter collection. I got 3 pairs for myself (hangs head in shame) and 1 pair for husband – he didn’t want more. I already got the boots since shipping takes only 3 days and all of them are amazing.

Hi Tanda – where do you see 50% on AS 98? When I click on the page I just see 30%. Thanks!

Hi Christina. I am nabbing the second code if that is okay. There is actually a cami that I have been eyeballing. Thanks!
